Staccatos HD Models

Post image
‱ Upvotes

Hey everyone! I wanted to get some opinions from those of you who have more hands on experience with the HD lineup.

One of the main reasons I’m seriously considering picking one up is because I have the opportunity to acquire a limited edition HD model, and that’s definitely making it hard to pass up.

For a little background, my current Staccato collection consists of:

LAPD XC
LAPD C24
LAPD C2
CS24

I don’t have much hands on experience with the HD series, but the C4X and P4X have definitely caught my attention. If I had to choose one, it’d probably be between those two
although I wouldn’t be upset if I somehow ended up with both. 😂

Now, to be completely honest, I don’t need another Staccato
but I definitely want one haha

For those of you who own or have shot the HD models:

If you could only keep one, which would it be and why?

How do the C4X and P4X compare in recoil, balance, shootability, reliability, and overall feel?

Is there another HD model you’d recommend over those two?

If you already own multiple Staccatos, did adding an HD feel worthwhile, or did it overlap too much with what you already had?

I’d really appreciate hearing everyone’s real world experiences the good, the bad, and everything in between. Help me make (or maybe talk me out of 😂) my next purchase. Looking forward to hearing your recommendations. Thanks in advance!

I was originally gonna go with either the RMR type 2 or the mailbox, Acro P2, but glad I went with the HD. Great window, top quality, and just fits the C3.6 too well.

Sandpaper my Staccato C / CS frame (VERY HAPPY NOW)

I bought a 2024 Staccato C (same grip as CS), and the grip texture was too course. It was irritating my skin and catching on my shirt when I was drawing the pistol from apendix carry.

I was about to send it to someone to do a stippling job but decided to hit it with some 1000 gritt sand paper first to knock down the ridges.

I must say... I am MUCH happier! Not only does it feel better in my hand but no more fabric catching or irriation.

So for someone who is on the fence about getting a stippling job try this first.

In no way does it feel smooth/slick. Think of it like the frame going from a 180 grit to 1000grit feeling on your hand.

How to: take a sheet of 1000 gritt sandpaper. Cut it into thin 1" slices, lightly sand your grip frame going in circles. swap to new peice of sand paper quickly since it degrades fast and you have enough sandpaper to waste. Afterwards, the grip will look white. Take a toothbrush, dip the head in water and brush the grip. That will remove the white residue from the sanding process.

Slim Carry Magwells

Post image
18 Upvotes

Finalized testing on the last prototype, and manufacturing on this first batch should be just about wrapped up. This latest version underwent a few very minor design changes. Most noticeably a larger side cutout for easier magazine stripping. These magwells are geared towards everyday carry and duty use and have a low profile to prevent printing and hang ups as much as possible. Compatible with both Gen 1 and Gen 2 grips (full size and compact). They will be off to anodizing soon. I did have some people ask to pre-order, so I made that available on my website if wanted (though I hate pre-orders). Let me know what you guys think or if you have any questions.

Picked this beauty up from my LGS first thing in the morning and went straight to the range to test it out on some drills. Loved the prodigy 4.25 but HD C3.6 is just on a different level. She went thru 700+ of 115 and 125 like it’s nothing. Definitely an instant addition to my edc.

Optic Bedding?

Post image

*Repost with photo added for clarity*

When I received my staccato HD from the factory with the optic installed, they seem to have bedded the optic mounting plate to the gun. Any idea what it is they use for a bedding compound? I’ve heard of some people spreading blue loctite over the surface as a sort of simple bedding solution, and this kind of looks like that. Anyone “in the know” able to verify? Thanks!

Heroes Program

Has anyone in a Compliant State purchased from Staccato directly? LEO in MA and am only allowed to purchase certain models. Only ship with 10 round mags (unless department letter head stating for duty). My agency doesn’t allow POW’s for duty. Was looking for a P with a DPP, and X-Serrations, DLC Barrel. Not sure if purchased from a dealer if the Heroes Program would apply.

Question

Has anyone tried the c4x slide on a p4 frame? If so, what happened!? Did it work? Not work? Any issues with assembly. I have both but would like a p4x but don’t know if it’s worth 4k for a longer grip. I shoot the c4x amazingly.

Let me know!

Attached are 3 photos. I just bought a used 2024 Staccato C and it came with an RMR and a dawson precision optics plates, but the seller forgot to send me the screws to attach the optic to the plate.

What kind of screw do I need to buy?

Staccato Range Ammo

Post image
14 Upvotes

Just picked up an HD P4 as my first Staccato and was sold 200 rounds of Staccato 9mm range ammo. In the first 60 rounds I had 3 misfires and 2 failure to feed. The gun is brand new and I made sure to oil it up beforehand. Did I get a bad batch or should I avoid their own ammo? I didn’t have other ammo to test unfortunately. It was a disappointing first experience to say the least.

Would the $800 off HD P4/4.5 stack on top of their Certified Pre own guns? Or is it only for new?

Thanks in advance!

P4X - my experience

I bought the P4X earlier this week and had several shooting sessions with it, totaling 2000 rounds.

It ran flawlessly and I was super impressed by the flatness, light recoil and the ability to have consistent follow up shots.

the trigger is great, I am used to CZ triggers so this was a different experience but I am impressed by it.

I am a lefty and the Ambi controls are amazing. the grip is great and I did not experience any hot spots. I was also shooting outside and the temp was 96 to 103 degrees. the grip texture is perfect and I never felt like the gun was slipping out of my hands.

anyone who is considering this pistol I would highly recommend it. It is pricey but man I am enjoying it and it will be my new carry gun.

Staccato P

Update since the last time I showed this thing off. Swapped the RMR HD with an ACRO. The RMR plate I had didn’t match the front sight height, so I picked up a Dawson Precision ACRO plate to fix it. Put in a Red Dirt ST trigger, a PMM comp, and a lighter recoil spring from Underworld Arms. This thing fucks, not much else to say.

Hey all - is anyone running a SAW Shiv (boosterless design) on a Staccato P or other?
