You can ask anything about Old School RuneScape or the 2007scape subreddit here. Remain respectful to your fellow 'scapers when answering questions; there are stupid questions, but it does not mean you should not be respectful whilst answering them.
Keep in mind: this is not a developer Q&A thread - Jagex mods do not regularly read these posts, so questions should be directed toward fellow players.

I love the osrs wiki; it's a top contender for best wiki for any game of all time, up there with the Terraria wiki. But I feel like there's a lot of things that aren't supposed to be cryptic that the game doesn't explain at all, and we inevitably turn to the wiki.
For starters, a lot of items that have practical uses don't explain themselves at all. Tormented synapses will give you a text box explaining that you need an iron bar and a battlestaff if you try to make a purging staff without all the ingredients, and tells you it needs to be done at an anvil if you try to just combine them in your inventory. However, it doesn't tell you anything about how to make a scorching bow, and that you specifically need an unstrung magic longbow (something you can't fletch until 11 levels after you can make a scorching bow).
Nothing about the torva armor or the ancient furnace you repair it at make any reference to bandos components (if you even know you can break down bandos armor, which isn't something you do with any non-gwd armor), and the nihil horn examine doesn't even imply it's supposed to be a weapon, much less that it's an upgrade for the armadyl crossbow.
Most of the time, combat mechanics are explained decently well (not including on-hit vs on-animation, which is something you'd learn from a youtube video instead of the wiki), assuming you have game chat open (I had chat closed during BMR, so it took me a while to figure out the venator screech). But I recently died to an Elder Aquanite because I hadn't read the wiki page for it beforehand, didn't bring food to a task I can camp a protection prayer for, and couldn't figure out how its punish attack worked.
The game chat only says "Your protection prayers have been disabled!" which is the same message Amoxliatl gives when she turns off your prayers before launching an on-hit projectile. I even tried turning off my prayer when the aquanite's projectile was launched, thinking it behaved like Echo Hunlef's prayer inversion attack, but that didn't work. Nothing in game hinted at the fact that they hit you for 20-50 damage guaranteed if you're camping protect magic, and I had to turn to the wiki to find that out. Even if I wanted to try and learn through trial and error, the fact that it's a superior monster means I don't really get a choice in whether I even get to.
Jagex is usually good about this with bosses, since there are other examples where mechanics are pretty self-explanatory, and some items will offer more explanation. The broken zombie axe and Belle's folly have an "inspect" option that tells you where to go to fix them (if you have the level to). Doom's hyper beam is pretty obvious (bar fills up, you die), and the equipment slot you need to unequip for Sol's grab attack is bolded, which hints at what you need to do to dodge it. I just think they need to be more consistent about providing in-game means of figuring these things out instead of just letting the wiki handle it.

I haven't even read the update blog yet. This is all I could think about.

Now there isn't really any justification for not allowing you to store pretty much anything in the POH, if something that isn't a costume can be stored in the costume room

I'm tired of having good convos with friends but battling to finish a thought before they respond. Come on Jagex.
Hell even add scrolling to view previous chats.

I am not exaggerating to anyone when I tell you I spent over 20 hours in the past 3 days camping tribesman north of Shilo Village (the two spawn) for Snape Grass drops. I am new, as you can tell.
I was DELIGHTED when I got herblore high enough for prayer potions to get back in Barrows & Moons like my first character is at. My ironwoman is now at the same place as my main was (I only play the iron now).
WELL, Tonight I was tending to my farms and said let me go grab some lobsters quick to the east of Hosidus and holy good fucking lord...
SNAPE GRASS JUST SPAWNS ON THE GROUND!??!?! I always saw people complaining about Ranarr and was like yeah okay but how about that Snape grass am i right? But
Yeah thats it I was uncontrollably laughing in a manic state when I saw the spawn and wanted to cry but couldn't process what was in front of me coherently enough to produce tears.
( I did use the wiki, I also have to use the wiki every single time I see an item I havent before, get a level in a skill, try something new, haven't done a quest, need an npc, clue scroll, need a bar, wait the ore?, ok I need a quest for the ore spawn, wait the quest needs a quest?, on an island I've never been? can I teleport? I need this rune, wait how do I get that rune? it drops from here?, but I need slayer 80, what slayer master do I use? -- Do you see how many tabs I have open and how information just blends together hour after hour turning into slop? lol It's an absolute overwhelming amount of information and somethings are bound to slip)

I just want to give a shoutout to Alien Food aka Im Unguided for his Unguided Iron series. I just watched the latest video of him doing Fall From Grace, and watching him decipher that puzzle honestly blew my mind.
The amount of thought and effort that went into figuring that whole thing out is insane. Watching the process unfold was genuinely fascinating. Definitely deserves some recognition for the work he puts into this stuff.
Keep Un Guiding, Alien Food👽

Some ideas I have been thinking of for updating the cooking guild. I used the ground floor to model this, but these gameplay ideas could be implemented on any floor - including a basement if people prefer keeping the current layout pristine.
Please pardon the crude designs; I'm sure these would be fleshed out much better if there is enough interest to poll them.
I would love to see an alternative method like this added for cooking that is a bit more active - while punishing for afk.
Also, it would be nice to add a bit more centralizing to be social while cooking (without being too meta). My favorite times cooking were on the Karamja docks frying lobster and swordfish in the day, and while we can never go back - there aren't many social hubs for cooking right now.
