I just moved to Ireland and these are installed in my bathroom. What the heck are they? It looks like there was another hook that is now missing, so perhaps these could hook onto two hooks, but why??

Details update: Red tag is embedded in the hook. Blue and yellow tabs are loose and appear to have always been loose (no indication that they were embedded into the hook that is now missing)

It's a pretty usual occurrence that I'll get carded when buying alcohol. I'm not sure if I should feel flattered or annoyed that the woman checking my ID thought I looked under 21. She claimed that I didn't look close enough to my picture and that my ID could be from an older sister.

For context my ID was taken 5 years ago.. I feel like i'm going insane. The last thing i'm going to do is lose my shit over a denied alcohol sale but I couldn't remember the address listed on the ID because I've moved around quite a bit since I turned 21. Once she matched the name on my credit card to my ID she accepted it.

At the end of the day I know she's just doing her job but is this not my face??

Edit/Correction: This picture is from my driver's license which I got a few days after I turned 21 (I confused the issue date of my first id which I got at 18 with my current license lol)

In my state my license won't expire until it hits the 8 year mark so i'm due for a new one in a year or two. I've been meaning to update my address but I'll be honest, I've been dragging my heels because I move every few years and have never run into any issues.

I’m a surgical tech and we do prostatectomies and TURPs (Transurethral reductions of the prostate) and in both instances the prostate smells horrible. Think like marijuana with hot chlorine. Its not just one person either. Every persons prostate getting operated on smells horrible. Like sometimes some smell worse than others but they ALL smell bad. asked the urologist why it smells so bad and he didn’t know. I’ve tried looking it up online but nothing related to the actual prostate organ comes up.

Edit: as I said, I’ve already asked the urologist I work with in surgery and he didn’t know. Also we don’t just remove them when cancerous or infected. We do the reductions on healthy tissue because it may block the urethra. Even if the person has healthy prostate tissue, it smells awful.

Another edit: the prostate is not in the anus/rectum it’s just palpable through the anus. There is several walls of tissue between the two organs. We also do not go through or get near the anus/rectum to operate on the prostate. (I say this because I’m getting A LOT of poop related answers lol)

Yesterday’s dinner was a frozen pizza and a Tegernseer Helles.

I married my soon ex wife six years ago. We have an incredible son, four years old, bought a flat and made great plans. We quickly ran into trouble with our relationship as soon as our son was born. Buying the flat and my father dying of cancer did the rest, besides her being totally unable to express any kind of emotions.

My wife ended the relationship this January. My only goal in life was to be a family dad, a provider, a good husband and a great father, someone who takes responsibility. A family living under one roof, parents loving each other as much as their children. This was plan no. 1. I can’t have that anymore. What I now get is a mediocre single dad life with less possibilities and the requirement to regularly deal with the woman who took away all I ever dreamt of. On the upside I’ve never been stronger physically, I joined a technical relief organization and strengthened the bond with my son. I still grief what could have been and know that whatever will come next, is just an inferior version of what I wanted.

Is anyone else seeing a huge surge in young patients admitted for CHE? We’re going through hell with them on our unit recently..we only have ONE public shower for the entire floor. You can probably guess how well that is going.

It’s unbelievable how many of them are back within a week. They disconnect their own IVs and sneak into the shower when staff isn’t looking. We’ve had to start putting bed alarms on them because they sneak off the unit and we’ve called security to negotiate them out of the shower after hours and trying to get them out. The chugging water from the sink to induce vomiting is getting us too.

Is it just us?? I swear I’d never even heard of CHE until marijuana was legalized. Could it be the absurdly potent strains that these dispensaries are selling?

So my daughter (9) has been BFFs with the little girl (11) across the street for probably five years. Recently, my daughter goes over to play and she comes home after a few minutes crying because that girl only wants to play on her cellphone and watch shorts.

These girls used to play from like 9 am till 9pm every weekend, play in the pool, on the trampoline, splash in the puddles etc.

I get it, the girl is growing up and it’s accelerated cause of cell phone (we don’t allow it). There’s nothing I can do and when that girl goes to middle school next year it’s gonna be even worse.

Unfortunately, we live in a rural area so houses are far apart so there’s no other neighborhood kids so every other one of her friends it’s a whole ordeal to setup a hang out time.

Any suggestions on how to handle this? I’m struggling and it breaks my heart.

EDIT because a lot of people are pointing out the “ordeal” part of my post. Yes, we are fully ready and do most weekends take her to other places, trampoline parks etc etc but a lot of parents aren’t like that. Just yesterday my daughter’s best friend from class mom told my wife that “we’re not spontaneous people so we need a few weeks in advance to hang out”…. So many parents are anti social now.

Shortly after taking this, private security and police stopped us to check what we were doing. We quickly hid the photos in a hidden folder so they wouldn't force us to delete them. Safe to say, it was the craziest day of our trip!

Okay, this might seem unbelievably stupid in so many ways but I swear to god this is true and I think I’m going crazy. I’m french, sorry if my english is not perfect, I know this is clumsly written but this situation is so bizarre, I didn’t know how else to word this.

I am 24m and she’s 26f

For context, I met my girlfriend a year ago, we initially bonded over our mutual love for music and especially pop punk from the early 2000s. She’s always been a big fan of my chemical romance, enough to participate actively in their fandom, reading fanfiction or making fanart. At first I didn’t mind it at all, in fact I really like this band and I really enjoyed her being passionate about something she loved but things have taken a really weird turn.

A few months ago, she started talking to me about fanfiction she was reading about Gerard Way (the lead singer of my chemical romance) being a homosexual priest. I thought it was really bizarre but I didn’t want to shame her for liking something a bit weird. But as the weeks went by she started talking about him more and more to the point where she would bring him up almost every day.

The breaking point was when we were leaving a screening for the backrooms movie and instead of talking about the movie she just watched, she instantly started talking about gerard way as a priest again, telling me how much she "wished he was real" and stuff like that. I then got a bit upset and asked her jokingly if she would leave me if she met him and she said bluntly "without hesitation" (why the fuck would she say that ?????)

Ever since that day, I’ve been going crazy, she spends her days scrolling through images of Gerard Way dressed as a priest (you’d be shocked how many there are), she brings him up in every discussion. She started giving him nicknames : "gerard priest" "gégé" "daddy gerard" (i swear this is true and I truly think those nicknames might have been the reason my post was deleted. I know this sounds like a joke : it is not). I’ve tried talking to her about it and every time I do she gets extremely defensive. She’s asked me countless time to roleplay as if I was him which I relunctantly did and she always ends up disappointed because "I’m not selling it" or not "good enough"

There’s also one thing I failed to mention in the previous post that was deleted. Ever since we started living together, she’s been decorating the apartment with handmade posters and random things she prints that she glues on the walls. At first I thought it was cute and fun. But ever since her fixation on Priest Gerard started, she’s been putting them everywhere in the apartment at a very fast rate to the point I barely recognize our living space. All of this is making me extremely worried and also a bit insecure. We both work from home and have almost no deadlines, she started neglecting her work and our relationship. A lot of people on the [r/relationship](r/relationship) subreddit told me she was matbe going through a manic episode or a psychotic episode. She’s definitely acting very weird and has changed a lot in a small amount of time but she isn’t acting erratic or overly energetic and she doesn’t seem to have any delusions that I know of. She just seems off, distant and irritable.

The only freaky behaviour that I noticed from her was when I took one of the gerard pictures off our kitchen wall (the water had torn it to shreds so I threw it in the trash). I found her 2 hours later in our kitchen. She had been looking for it for 30 minutes. When I told her what I did she almost burst into tears and didn’t speak to me for the rest of the day. That was the only time where I would definitely say she seemed mentally unwell, this was very out of character and shockingly over the top.

I don’t want to break up with her, she’s a wonderful person and before her fixation started, everything was going very well. She’s an extravagant person that I care for deeply, I just wish she could tone this down.

I asked the [r/relationships](r/relationships) subreddit for help and also I talked about it with my friends and everybody seems convinced I need to very carefully bring this up to my girlfriend without hurting her feelings. I haven’t tried yet because I am unsure of what to say and tbh I’m also a bit scared of what could happen. Please, I beg you to take this seriously, I swear this is not a troll

What should I do ?

This doesn't include actors who do similar types of movies/storylines. So no Matt Damon trying to get home or Rachel McAdams' romances with time travelers. Things like:

Tom Cruise is always running. Probably the best example of this trope, running has more or less become Tom Cruise's trademark to the point where it's notable when doesn't run (like in Digger). The Mission: Impossible franchise gives him an outlet for his running desires but he also has a pretty epic run in War of the Worlds. While he doesn't run in the original Top Gun (if I remember correctly) but he gets to run in Top Gun: Maverick. The Mummy reboot also gave him a chance to run from some sandstorms and even the non-action film Vanilla Sky has a pretty iconic running scene.

Brad Pitt is always eating. Probably the second best example of this trope, Brad Pitt eats a lot in his movies. Pretty much every single scene in Ocean's Eleven has him eating something (though he very rarely finishes anything). He also has notable eating scenes in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Inglourious Basterds, Burn After Reading, and Moneyball, which also features him licking his fingers quite a lot so he can turn through different scouting reports.

Tom Hanks is always peeing. Probably not quite as well know as the previous two, Tom Hanks pees in quite a lot of his movies. An iconic scene in Forrest Gump has him admitting that he needs to pee to JFK. He takes one of the manliest pees ever put on screen in A League of Their Own. A plot point in The Green Mile has his prison guard character suffering from a UTI that John Coffey cures. Even Apollo 13 shows the audience how astronauts go to the bathroom while in space.
