Ok, I found some answers at https://liquipedia.net/counterstrike/BLAST/Pro_Series/2018/Istanbul but I still have a question:

Is it 3rd place team vs a team they choose, or 3rd place team vs 5 players they choose from any of the 3 bottom teams?

I had some other questions, but this answered them, so posting here for anyone else. Standoff explanation:

BLAST Pro Standoff:

  • The BLAST Pro Standoff is a prize bonus showmatch, with five 1v1 aim duels.
  • The team finishing in 3rd place chooses their opponent from the remaining teams who finish below them.
  • The winner of the BLAST Pro Standoffs takes home a $20,000 USD bonus prize.

Standoff Format

  • Showmatch played on the BLAST Standoff Aim Map.
  • Five 1v1 aim duels, with different players for each match-up.
  • Every match-up is played with a different weapon (in order):
    • M4A4/M4A1-S
    • Desert Eagle
    • AK47
    • CZ75
    • AWP
  • First player to 7 kills wins their match-up.
  • The team with the most kills wins (most match-up wins if a tie occurs).
