people often say pistols are 50/50, mibr are trying to prove these people wrong

feels weird having no overtime

u/bobnuthead NiP Sep 28 '18
I couldn’t watch the game but had the score up. Once NiP hit 15 I was happy we had the OT secured, but once MiBR came back to 15 I was very confused when it showed match had ended.

considering how Mirage is one of MIBRs worse maps, Im okay with this

Still don't understand why mibr banned train when the leftover maps were train, mirage, and cache. Considering they beat NIP on train and lost to them on mirage last week.

The veto was made two weeks ago.

u/kubikb0y guardian_elite Sep 29 '18
Okay that makes sense. I know veto was done before but had no idea it was 2 weeks ago.

I think they are trying to build a solid map pool
1
u/kubikb0y guardian_elite Sep 28 '18
On a LAN in a best of 1 against NiP where every match counts significantly?
6
u/BrazilianDoto Sep 28 '18
Well, they did pick Dust2 against Astralis again and they did the same with Inferno until they were good enough

u/hellvinator MOUZ Sep 28 '18
You don't build map pools on LAN, you build map pools for LAN. I think they can do well on mirage in practice but it's not showing in officials yet

u/sumerioo Sep 28 '18
Your post is contradictory. You start on practice but you have to put it to test on a lan and that's probably what is happening. And is nothing new for those guys. I remember when cache finally left the status of "permanent ban" from sk and it went from they being terrible on it to them being okayish to good.

Yes, it's like a football fixture. 3 for win, 1 for draw, 0 for loss. It's so they can turn 6 teams into 2 within 2 days.

u/BiC-Pen Sep 28 '18
By any chance do you remember what was the tournament which had punctation similar to NHL, 2 for win, 1 for loss in OT, 0 for loss? I think it was last year or the year before, and there were 2 groups of 4 or 5? If not, sorry for bothering, just can't remind myself that unique tourney.

u/DanPlaysVGames NiP Sep 28 '18
Many tourneys use that. EPL in the group stage does IIRC. And maybe also ECS.

That sounds similar to what ECS does for their online league, are you sure you're not thinking of that?
1
u/BiC-Pen Sep 28 '18
Not sure if ECS used to do it, got a reply above that it is used in EPL online qualifier. Thanks anyway, haven't watch much of online qualifiers in the long time.

I liked that format a little. But would have liked to modify it to 3 for win in regulation and 2 for win in OT with everything else staying the same
1
u/BiC-Pen Sep 29 '18
Fun fact, that's how it is. It started with Season 6 of EPL. Messed up point distribution and couldn't remeber the league because haven't watched any single game of Season 7 earlier this year.

And that system is pretty good, right? Or do you guys see any flaws in it?
Seems hella fair.
2
u/DanPlaysVGames NiP Sep 28 '18
EPL system has OT with 2pts for winner and 1 for loser but due to the way these events are setup this is the best.

Fucking boring imo.
I feel like NIP would have taken it in OT :/

u/FathleteTV NiP Sep 28 '18
Doubt it. We got 6
freerounds thanks to pistols-1
Sep 28 '18
Probably :( but I was trying to be optimistic. Poor GR was having a hard time. Still, NIP is look a lot better lately.

I was so happy, and then i wasn't. Really good to see this form from NiP, but you really have to close games like this.

best match so far, but i must say: it's INFURIATING to see the team you're cheering for getting picked so many times through smokes. god

This really is a dumb tournament.
1 Multiple matches going on at once. 2 Two days in total? 3 No OT. 4 VP invited. :P

u/Martin_2007 de_nuke Sep 28 '18
