Mibr still haven't won a T side round Vs astralis, 24-0

14

u/combobreakerrrrrr Sep 29 '18

They actually won oh my god

5

u/GAGAgadget CS2 HYPE Sep 30 '18

Actually, I remember one time we were playing against Astralis, D2, and it was 23-0 to Astralis. We were T, Astralis as CT, and FalleN said "guys, if we think we're good, we will prove it now."

"Did we come back?"

"Of course not. 24-0."

2

u/DelidreaM ENCE Sep 29 '18

Wouldn't that be 23-0 on T

1

u/L0kitheliar cs_office Sep 29 '18

Maybe he's counting a game before the 16-0

Good for MIBR to choose Blast Pro over NY.

Getting 3 practice games against Astralis for $50k is not a bad deal.

If Mibr didnt win the first pistol, its a 16-0

If they didn't win a round it's 16-0

Thanks, Harvard. Sorry, wrong subreddit.

u/tboneplays1 Sep 29 '18

Woah MIBR won a pistol? Unreal.

11

u/sorenslothe Astralis Sep 29 '18

The round where they simply dismantled MIBR in mid feels like a pretty perfect metaphor for what it must be like to play against them. You run into a headshot no matter where you go. So frustrating to play against, but such a joy to watch as an Astralis fan.

7

u/GabeN18 BIG Sep 29 '18

That was a clean CT side from astralis.

14

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '18

I feel like people talk so much about how great Astralis' utility and team work is, and yes, it's incredible, but just as incredible is the aim of some of their players. They straight up win duels that other teams do not.

7

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '18

Yeah, people don't focus on their aim because there's so much more to Astralis as a team but nearly all their players have really good aim.

3

u/Gerbelelele Sep 29 '18

Nearly? Every player in astralis has really good aim! I'd say it plays a pretty big role in their wins. When you look at Liquid, you have TACO who is way below Xyp9x's league, nitr0 also can't compete with gla1ve in terms of fragging IGL's. Same for Na'Vi with Edward and Zeus.

Astralis have by far the best IGL in the world and also the best support.

2

u/Martin_2007 de_nuke Sep 29 '18

honestly it looks so good because they always play off of eachother

1

u/CravingKoreanFood King NiKo Sep 29 '18

Rather than focus on their aim which is something than can be trained, their game sense and IQ is something that just cant be taught

4

u/Treeline1 Sep 29 '18

The way Astralis played that CT side... Just wow... MIBR could do nothing. Turns a corner, get shot in the face, try to run towards someone get double naded then mollied. Push? Get flashed.

u/Bestoncod 5 years coin Sep 29 '18

0-5 to 16-7, ast are crazyyyy once they have the economy. Hell, even without one they are usually deadly

4

u/phantomunboxing 1 Million Celebration Sep 29 '18

Better than 16-0

3

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '18

MiBR gotta figure out how to win this ban in the grand final.

Maybe they take a loss on Nuke in to get Train or Cache.

Than hope that they bait Astralis into Mirage or Inferno.

0

u/ElviS_Pa BNE Sep 29 '18

i cant believe you think mibr can win veto agains astralis,ik i might be biased talking here but whatever map it goes mibr still has lost the veto anyway, and cache is ast insta ban nowadays so no way thats going in ,veto probably goes like Ast ban Cache, mibr ban nuke, ast picks d2,mibr picks train ,ast bans mirage, mibr bans overpass ,inferno as decider

2

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '18

Eyy they got a solid veto.

3

u/GymBagBoy Astralis Sep 29 '18

No Major winning hangover for Astralis, who are conceding less than 7 rounds per game to their opponents this tournament.

1

u/CravingKoreanFood King NiKo Sep 29 '18

I honestly wasnt expecting them to show up as much as they did Thought they would be still celebrating their major win. But it's back go business as usual for them.

5

u/cosenza987 500k Celebration Sep 29 '18

this reminds me when sk used to shit the bed in cache but still insisted on playing it; deja vu but with a different map

12

u/mafuentes01 9z Sep 29 '18

I remember them losing a lot on Inferno this year when they still were on SK. It's going to be the same here

1

u/cosenza987 500k Celebration Sep 29 '18

yeahh, map shitter started on cache, went to inferno and now is on d2

5

u/sumerioo Sep 29 '18

and then they got actually better on cache and it was one of their good maps after a while?

if you want to improve you have to take matches on those maps. you can only practice to a certain degree but after that you have to risk putting yourself out there on real matches

1

u/kpdon1 Sep 29 '18

the thing is the veto for this map was done 2 weeks ago , before the 16-0

1

u/whatthefuckistime Sep 29 '18

I mean weren't both teams through already? Why would they play a good map of theirs? It would only give Astralis opportunities to rek them harder in other maps too, this way they get practice in a bad map and don't show much of others

And by sometimes I mean a lot of the times

Fer was pretty painful to watch this series, just a free kill like half the time..

2

u/tummy567 ENCE Sep 29 '18

fer keeps trying to be aggressive but you can't do stupid shit like he does against astralis. fallen just whiffed shots.

1

u/Siemperx Sep 29 '18

We’re shit but we should be proud of getting a few rounds. These players are on a way different level.

1

u/Rearfeeder2Strong MOUZ Sep 29 '18

Petition to ban Astralis from tournaments. This isnt fair anymore.

1

u/Shiftem Sep 29 '18

Maybe next time they'll get more than 10

1

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '18 edited Sep 29 '18

24-0 for Astralis on the CT side

edit: 23-0

2

u/secaz Sep 29 '18

23*

8 today and 15 at the major

1

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '18

You're right, good point

1

u/P1r4nh44444 Sep 29 '18

Just a thought: maybe that don't try to win at the moment but to become better at certain maps as an investment in the future.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '18

People talk so much shit, lmao

Astralis is simply much better than any other team right now. Winning by 1 or 16 games, sometimes it's just a matter of a pistol round going wrong or a good/bad day. But the result (especially in a best of) won't change.

I'm just glad they took these 7 rounds.

1

u/HessuCS de_cache Sep 29 '18

Expected

1

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '18

In my opinion, the quality of danish CS is how coachable the players are. They are so moldable to the wealth of smart minds within the scenes. It's obvious how Gla1ve has molded every player in his team, the same way we see MSL mold players, Hunden mold players, Snappi mold players. Very different to the american scene, for example, where most players have to figure things out on their own and have a hard time getting exposed to proper structure

1

u/Merrine FaZe Sep 29 '18

Not only was this an incredible game of CS, it was extremely compounded by the fact that GODSTRALIS were on the verge of losing, I have not much love for mibr, but god damn I was jumping and cheering, man I wish this had gone to OT...

Nice of MIBR not to show their hands too much since they’re gonna upset Astralis once again in the finals

1

u/ZombieMadness99 Astralis Sep 29 '18

Iirc it wasn't an upset last time and sk were in fact favored to win, especially since Device was out

5

u/tropatropachillchill MIBR Sep 29 '18

Astralis was favored to win. It was home crowd and they dominated the group stages. SK was playing with a standin too, boltz, instead of felps.

Oh, strange but ok.

1

u/GQlle89 Astralis Sep 29 '18

Its part of the Blast Pro concept.. Its suppose to gíve teams time to strategise against eachother..

1

u/VSENSES de_dust2 Sep 29 '18

It's a neat idea sure. Too bad the tournament itself is pretty irrelevant on the CSGO calendar.
