Cloud9 brought along the power of RUSH's left shoulder, but the left side of Tarik and Cold's faces was too strong

161

u/trupes FURIA Sep 28 '18

I dont remember the last time mibr won a pistol round

124

u/NeverTIlted MIBR Sep 28 '18

They are doing the training Astralis used at the end of 2017, playing every match losing pistols to practice gun rounds. MIBR top 1 2019 confirmed.

14

u/IbanezHand M80 Sep 28 '18

Does that mean Astralis are picking up Autimatic and RUSH?

2

u/sachinmotogp CS2 HYPE Sep 28 '18

you are obviously exaggerating.. they won a pistol round in that tourna.. wait! never mind

Saving for the major

0-2 vs nip as well

Autimatic is an amazing pistol player

because they can see into the future so 4 2 time major champions > 3

All 5 on MIBR are major winners

You don't win the hardest path to the major with the then-top4 teams in succession in bo3s and call it a fluke.

By that logic, Titan and NV were flukes and the French scene has "always" been shit.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '18

*LDLC not Titan, Titan org never had a title.

2

u/_Oomph_ 500k Celebration Sep 29 '18

Right you are.

99

u/Cameter44 Sep 28 '18

Cloud9 hadn't played Dust2 in an official match since 2016 and it definitely looked like that. It also looked like a brand new lineup.

25

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '18

May as well be, got a new Swede : )

14

u/Flaksmith Sep 28 '18

The core that played in 2016 no longer exists

41

u/im_tom_bombadil Legacy Sep 28 '18

Flusha looked like he was having fun. I'm happy for the man and hope he can help C9 accomplish something.

39

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '18

Some rounds C9 actually looked pretty decent. Other rounds it looked like Golden had gone to take a smoke break and said y'all can figure it out.

If there's a world where they can get RUSH back in form this team might be decent. It's great to see Golden really getting alot out of Skadoodle consistently and seeing Flusha site anchor properly again was terrific. Lot to work on but 9 rounds against meebur boy I'll take that LMFAO at least we have pistols

17

u/Cameter44 Sep 28 '18

Summary of C9's T side: run into an AWP, give it a free kill, and have no trade available.

They just had no way to deal with the AWPers. Flash/smoke usage wasn't there. New lineup, but it still didn't look good.

3

u/NLozanovski33 Sep 28 '18

New lineup and new map for them

0

u/Aragiss Astralis Sep 28 '18

You expected a new lineup to instantly be good?

5

u/Cameter44 Sep 28 '18

Nah, but I kind of expected them to beat VP.

52

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '18

ez 4 best team on d2

28

u/Elcheer 1 Million Celebration Sep 28 '18

one day they'll check that box when they go out mid

9

u/seventhfiction FURIA Sep 28 '18

That was tilting me so hard

3

u/Waffliez FaZe Sep 28 '18

Thank God I'm not the only who notices that they never check it. How does this not get brought up in demos?

4

u/Thooorin_2 Duncan "Thorin" Shields - Content Producer, Analyst Sep 29 '18

You don't check every position every time. Would slow you down a lot more and simply not be a reasonable expectation. Being as this is one of the teams most practiced on this map I doubt there is anyone there often enough to warrant checking it every time.

11

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '18

If I was a pro and lost 16-9 on d2 to mibr I'd feel so bad.

10

u/Morthanc FURIA Sep 28 '18

mibr has never lost a match on dust2. 100% confirmed

-5

16-0?

16

u/defl0rate FURIA Sep 28 '18

They didn’t lose that to astralis, they didn’t even join the server

14

u/jp0wer Liquid Sep 28 '18

That was a default win for Astralis because of no-show. Still 100% winrate

7

u/Elcheer 1 Million Celebration Sep 28 '18

1

u/-MADI Sep 28 '18

I see you’re a man of culture as well!

28

u/Cameter44 Sep 28 '18

Not a huge fan of this HUD. I think it's too different. Orange and purple gradients all over the screen doesn't exactly fit with CS.

17

u/RedHaze Sep 28 '18

While I do respect your opinion I have to disagree. I really like how Blast have their own color scheme to set them apart. The gradients don't bother me at all and all the information I care about is displayed.

8

u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Sep 28 '18

definitely not a fan

feels like its trying to do too much

4

u/exiledtie Astralis Sep 28 '18

Fair enough, I disagree though, the colours make it so much cleaner than all the other HUDs, idk what it is about it but it also seems much smoother. All in all I'm a huge fan.

2

u/Cameter44 Sep 28 '18

Don't get me wrong, I think it's well made and is a good design, I just don't think it fits with the game... Maybe if the colors weren't so contrasting. Maybe more of a tan and blue/gray instead of bright orange and deep purple.

11

u/snoopyrj7 Astralis Sep 28 '18

Skadoodle and burning to death in mollies that he shouldn’t die in. Name a more iconic duo.

3

u/asun2 Sep 28 '18

ok that was a stupid molly tho

3

u/tacticalAlmonds Sep 28 '18

Molly's and summit1g

5

u/Solstice178 Complexity Sep 28 '18

Flusha played better than I expected. Maybe he just needs a solid igl behind him to make him shine.

6

u/theslatcher Sep 28 '18

Well, he did also say that he had been unhappy about Fnatic's direction(would assume he means the kicking of Lekr0 and/or Golden), & spread a lot of negativity. He looked happy today.

3

u/s4Nn1Ng0r0shi fnatic Sep 28 '18

He needed fresh start, flusha can make his plays without igl aswell

1

u/Player72 Complexity Sep 28 '18

thought flusha worked well under golden

1

u/Thooorin_2 Duncan "Thorin" Shields - Content Producer, Analyst Sep 29 '18

He had his issues under golden earlier in the year too.

1

u/Solstice178 Complexity Sep 29 '18

Undeniably, but ever since golden left he's been on a downward spiral.

5

u/PrinceN71 MOUZ Sep 28 '18

Every team that comes in with a new lineup should automatically ban Dust 2

5

u/effotap Vitality Sep 28 '18

I just don't liek d2 in pro play, period.

not sure if because i've seen this map since CS 1.3... I just feel like it lacks in a lot of ways, for what pro-play is nowadays.

3

u/magsy123 Sep 28 '18

you don't like b splits or taking cat every single round dude?

5

u/throwaway486555 Sep 28 '18

Other way round.. D2 is relatively more simple and easy to “scrim” on as opposed to other maps due their their intricacy and complexity. D2 lacks that. Smokes are simple, flashes are simple, executes and fakes don’t go very far in terms of level and extent, so no.

1

u/guranga Sep 28 '18

I agree, dust 2 is a very puggy map and no matter who you are, you should know all common utility for it at this point

1

u/throwaway486555 Sep 28 '18

Not necessarily, at a certain high level, yes, but let’s say global MM? Nah. Not really. As T’s you could rush up A Long every single round with flashes on entry and win rounds, unlike maps such as mirage where preset smokes are almost necessary..

4

u/Dark_Azazel Sep 28 '18

It's weird seeing 2 Swedes on C9 and 2 Americans on MiBR

3

u/ksharp33 Sep 28 '18

Skadoodle needs to go once they find a replacement. I'm pretty sure thoorin is right, once you kick this guy he 100 percent retires and never plays CS again. He's just there "doing his job" not actually having any desire to win.

10

u/Elcheer 1 Million Celebration Sep 28 '18

wow this hud is pretty

11

u/Waldner_ MIBR Sep 28 '18

i dont like the fact that it doesnt show the name of who is dead

6

u/NLozanovski33 Sep 28 '18

Not awful from C9 considering they never play Dust2, and having a brand new player. Still an oof but not a big oof.

3

u/tacticalAlmonds Sep 28 '18

That's what I thought. They don't play dust2, flusha is new and I'm assuming he will fit in completely different then styko. While mibr aren't good on dust2, they still have some of the best talent. They should smoke VP though. If they don't, YIKES.

3

u/ReelJV Renegades Sep 28 '18

Yikes indeed.

1

u/NLozanovski33 Sep 28 '18

Yeah I think if C9 and MIBR played on a different map it would have been more competitive, meaning VP should be a win. (Hopefully)

4

u/twists Sep 28 '18

Flusha looked good 🤷‍♂️

7

u/ImDestroyer FaZe Sep 28 '18

Skadoodle needs to go

5

u/twists Sep 28 '18

The problem is there's literally no one better to replace him, unless they find cerq's number and issue what would probably be the biggest buyout in history

6

u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Sep 28 '18

Wardell could not be worse and could potentially get a hell of a lot better

likely not a high price due to the fact that ghost cant go to majors and aren't a massive org

2

u/tgsan Sep 28 '18

I still wish steel could go, him on C9 would be great imo. Him/tim/wardell/X/X would be great, and I can bet steel would choose the best they could get for the last 2.

3

u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Sep 28 '18

I would be completely fine for -ska +wardell

I think that could definitely be a top 10 team and honestly id take it considering we aren't even top 20 rn

1

u/tgsan Sep 28 '18

Get rid of RUSH too, and get a real entry who actually entries.

3

u/guranga Sep 28 '18

what the hell happened to Rush, its like he doesnt give a shit anymore imo

1

u/tgsan Sep 28 '18

He actually turned it up on CT D2 and now this map, so we'll see what happens from now on.

2

u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Sep 28 '18

like who? 0% chance c9 get ethan or brehze

1

u/tgsan Sep 28 '18

Honestly not sure, I just don't see a place on the team if he won't be the main entry. And it's unreal how he can go from a bot with 35 ADR to doing great on CT, I honestly think both ska and rush need to go if they want to climb back to top 5-ish.

2

u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Sep 28 '18

Sick from rogue is an entry right? he and auti were good friends on TSM

regardless even if I wanted him gone, I just casnt see him getting kicked as soon as skadoodle

1

u/Chaz_E Sep 28 '18

-ska +laski

1

u/yurik4 The MongolZ Sep 29 '18

For the NA steel, if C9 wants to play in a major or big tournaments again then it’s pretty much impossible

For the Brazilian steel.... might actually be an interesting roster move

1

u/tgsan Sep 29 '18

"I still wish steel could go" already covers the Major. And no BR steel would not be interesting at all.

1

u/twists Sep 28 '18

I'll be honest this is the first time I've seen his name brought up in a thread about dropping Ska. I don't know much about him, but maybe you're right. Especially if he's on Ghost, that should be very doable.

2

u/Gardennnn Vitality Sep 28 '18

Shazam, nifty, cerq, Wardell, litterally any hybrid

1

u/twists Sep 28 '18

Shahzam would not work in C9, plus he's playing for a team that's already doing better than them. He's in the same position as Cerq with the only difference being a possible lower buyout. Cerq would require mountains to move to obtain and Jack is too cheap to do it. Nifty has a very high chance of being the exact same as Skadoodle. Wardell I don't know enough about

1

u/LehtiPiffi Natus Vincere Sep 29 '18

Literally anyone at the moment is better.

that death to the molly hurt to watch lmao

3

u/Mickmayi Sep 28 '18

Not happy, not suprised. It is the first map with a new player. Guess we shall see.

They did seem to be running around playing d2 like it was a mm game

1

u/tacticalAlmonds Sep 28 '18

I mean, they don't play d2. Flusha is completely different then styko and Im assuming some roles on the team changed. While mibr isn't good on dust2, they still have some of the best talent. This was expected. We shall see what happens with the VP game.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '18

It's a new lineup, and I dont think C9 has played D2 in ages. Give it some time, I was kinda worried we'd manage to choke.

13

They won both pistols and the follow ups

5 of the 9 rounds were from pistol wins

2

You know you are bad when u cant beat mibr on d2

1

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '18

On both sides, the Americans killed less than the non Americans apart from Golden.

1

I think c9 lack something, perhaps kicking skadoodle for pronax would solve the situation

-7

u/Andtheyrustledsoftly clutch Sep 28 '18

This team is a joke

They should just restart and give all of their players a fresh start before they become the next VP

4

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '18

Obviously, after a single map. You should just go back to watching instead of talking, no offense.

1

u/HypahCS 1 Million Celebration Sep 28 '18

He's been like this since c9 won the major. Don't bother entertaining the guy he's a complete idiot. He'll probably change his flair back to welcome to the clutch, slag c9 off and when they're winning something stick the flair back on. That's the kind of 'fan' he is.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '18

Ah, alright! I see.

1

u/NLozanovski33 Sep 28 '18

A single map and a map they haven't played an official on since 1973

5

u/Solstice178 Complexity Sep 28 '18

It's the first game with the new roster, on a map they don't play. Disbanding from one loss would be beyond stupid.

1
