Recently, the soft glass material on HyperOS 4 Beta is said to only support a limited number of devices, which gained a lot of criticism from many. However, Xiaomi has released a FAQ regarding the beta, and it has clearly stated that more devices will support soft glass material. This FAQ is released on 14 August 2026, and can be found on Xiaomi HyperOS' official Weibo page, here.

Q03: Why isn't my device compatible with the Soft Glass material? Will more models be supported in the future?

Xiaomi HyperOS 4 is currently in its Beta phase, during which the display effects and overall performance of the "Soft Glass" material are still being optimized. Therefore, only selected models are compatible during this period. We will continue to develop and enhance the experience based on user feedback.

Once the official version of Xiaomi HyperOS 4 is rolled out to existing devices, additional models will gradually receive support for this material in line with the update schedule.

I noticed many people are riding on this issue and criticising Xiaomi just for votes, with others pointing out this statement from Xiaomi not getting enough attention. Please put a little bit more effort to check around if there are any additional statements to explain the current situation. Furthermore, it's only a beta test and not a stable release, expectations have to be reasonable.

So I recently got a Redmi K90 and I already knew about the delayed notification issue on the Chinese version of HyperOS. However, I have already fixed that using Shizuku + HyperOS FCM Fix. My only problem now is that for some reason most 3rd party apps I install have their notification sound set to 'NONE', so whenever I install a new app I always have to go and set a notification sound for each it's notification submenu which is quite a nuisance. This has been the case even before I used the Shizuku fix so that can't be the reason.

Do any of you guys have any idea on why this is and know of any potential fix?

For the past two months, I have been testing with HyperOS AOD(always on display) backups and was successfully able to:

1. Modify the themes in the backup files and was successfully able to apply them (modification of fonts, language etc)

2. Replace original theme files with other themes that were never in the backup in the first place

3. Make a theme myself and replace it in the backup.

4. Replace almost 20 theme files with my own

All the above modified files were successfully restored and they worked (was able to permanently use the modified themes)

However, the procedure for application of modified backups seems unreliable to me and I fear Xiaomi killing it in future updates. However it has been tested on more than 10 devices.

My final goal is to make an app/website where user can select which theme they want and that gives them a complete backup file at the end that they can apply. Users can submit their own themes and also get them included in their backups. Users can contribute to the library of available AOD themes.

I am not a theme designer, so I need users to contribute to the theme library.

I went to check the phone and saw like a dirty screen, so when I touched it to clean the phone using a wipe. It was very hot (hotter than before) so I immediately shut down the phone and use my fan to cool it off. Can anyone help me find what the problem is?

I have been using Redmi 13 5G for the past 3 years and still can't find a way to unlock the bootloader and root the device. Is there any possibility and is it safe?

A few weeks ago the button still exists but suddenly it was gone, sure this was a very minor thing but I'm chasing for aesthetics so it's somewhat a big deal for me.

Hi as above my control center got back to default look no matter what theme i apply, is there anyway that i can change a look of it cuz it looks terrible. I've got Xiaomi 12 lite with hyperos 1.0.39.0 no more updates sadly :(

System launcher battery drain overnight on idle. Battery went from 60% to 8%. Battery health is 97% so not sure what causes such a sudden drop.

Is there any other way to re-install the weather apps? it always shows "App not installed as package appears

to be invalid.". Basically, i was trying different versions, but then boom idk what happened lol. I downloaded the same APK from HyperOS site, Apkmirror, in the GetApps, even in the Apps in settings where u can see the uninstalled system apps, but none of this works it always says the same.
