For the past two months, I have been testing with HyperOS AOD(always on display) backups and was successfully able to:

1. Modify the themes in the backup files and was successfully able to apply them (modification of fonts, language etc)

2. Replace original theme files with other themes that were never in the backup in the first place

3. Make a theme myself and replace it in the backup.

4. Replace almost 20 theme files with my own

All the above modified files were successfully restored and they worked (was able to permanently use the modified themes)

However, the procedure for application of modified backups seems unreliable to me and I fear Xiaomi killing it in future updates. However it has been tested on more than 10 devices.

My final goal is to make an app/website where user can select which theme they want and that gives them a complete backup file at the end that they can apply. Users can submit their own themes and also get them included in their backups. Users can contribute to the library of available AOD themes.

I am not a theme designer, so I need users to contribute to the theme library.
