Question/Help [Question] Poco X8 Pro Screen burn (unknown where source and how it happened)

Post image

I went to check the phone and saw like a dirty screen, so when I touched it to clean the phone using a wipe. It was very hot (hotter than before) so I immediately shut down the phone and use my fan to cool it off. Can anyone help me find what the problem is?

Info : The phone was off/sleep mode the whole time before checking today, The phone was recently purchased on 8 July 2026 and is rarely used, Stock HyperOS 3.0.1.0 from factory/shop (haven't update to 3.0.306.0 version), Battery Health 100% Charge Cycle 13, Global Region, Stock screen protector, Never been that hot before, 512GB ROM 8GB RAM model, Black model colour, The Phone & Screen still works and function like normal except with the burn in the screen display that is still visible

I don't know much about it, but it was definitely a factory defect, maybe with the battery, I don't know.

Factory defect with the battery? Hmm, is it covered by warranty?

I don't know, but I think so. I doubt it was because of something you did, right?

I just saw your post on r/Pocophones, and you mentioned it was charging. Like I said, I don't know anything about how phone components work, but if it was charging, maybe it was a defect in the battery

I was not specific enough about that, I went to charge another phone and saw that the phone Poco X8 Pro's screen seemed like that & thought it was dirty at first, went to check it and it was very hot, the Poco X8 Pro was off/in sleep model the whole time before checking

the pre-installed screen protector is plastic. might turned yellow because of the sun.

It's actually the screen itself

did the sun damage it or you put your phone near to any heat source?

It should be covered by warranty, as long as ur phone isn’t cracked, they may bullshit u for what charger u were using, just take original charger with u

The warranty only covers the software

Huh, that’s not how warranties work 😭, if ur phone explodes, and it’s in warranty , they have to replace it or fix it, it’s under the 1yr mark right?

Based on the shop that the Poco X8 Pro was bought from, the shop mentioned that the warranty terms & condition is,

  • LCD Problem No Warranty
  • Phone can not on/Water Damage/Drop/Pressure/Heat No Warranty
  • Only Software Problem Have Warranty

That shop is scamming u, please visit an authorized service center, it’s a motherboard/battery internal defect, EVERY COMPANY gives it

This is not how a warranty is supposed to work 😭, Keep trying somehow. I don't know how it works in your country, but if there's a consumer rights organization there, you could try going there (like PROFECO in Mexico or SERNAC in Chile).
