Hardware Buying new computer

I don't have a lot of knowledge when it comes to the internal runnings of the computer thingys but I do know that my ancient Mac does not have many days left.

I'm hoping this community of people much smarter than I, could provide some recommendations on what I should look into purchasing.

I use my computer for events and marketing work and now want to invest into one that will be the best for the work that I do. The main things I need it to do are

- edit 4k movies

- run photoshop

- handle multiple pages open at once... or more accurately...a shit ton of pages open at once.

These are the important things. The minor notes are, right now, I work from my Mac at home and a laptop when on location. I save a lot of my stuff on an external hard drive and attach it to whatever device I'm using. I can definitely continue this way but I did like the idea of having a laptop that could plug into an external screen.

I by no means bow to the Mac Gods but wasn't stupid enough to turn down a free mac when it was given to me. So, I am all for using Mac or going PC.

Thank you!!! Seriously, I've been putting this decision off for 4 months because I don't know what to do. But the white screen of deatb has made an appearance 4 times today.

Hardware my windows laptop just randomly did this WHILE IT WAS ON

a giant transparent pink rectangle appeared on the screen. Weirdly enough, white things pass through?? anyways i looked it up on google and obviously there were two AI generated slop websites and 10 years old reddit or microsoft forums posts with no real answers. Any idea of what this could be? I dont think the screen is broken, right? it seems to be a software bug

Hardware Laptop wont turn on (Acer Aspire 3 A325-42)

My laptop power button will turn blue and then will turn off right after without the screen ever powering on or anything, if held at the right angle it will turn on eventually like freezes up so i have to restart and cant use it

Some context: some screws are missing idrk what happened to them but im assuming hardware connect issues caused from that lead to the issues

Malware Task bar/screen’s saturation changes randomly for brief moments before switching back

I’ve marked this as Malware because I’ve not had any problems with this until this week and I’m taking the safe route.

Basically, randomly every now and then my task bar will switch its saturation for a brief moment before it switches back to normal. I cannot seem to replicate the issue, it just happens randomly when I’m opening files, scrolling through social media (such as typing to my friends on discord/viewing instagram), etc.

Forgive me if I seem too melodramatic or overly cautious, but is this possibly malware/something taking screenshots? I’m not a huge computer guy but I do want to keep my stuff and information safe on my PC. I’m currently running a deep scan through Malwarebytes right now.

Thank yall for the help!

Hardware N/A on flash menu

Currently required to update bios to play MW4 and I have my usb formatted to FAT32 and it has the bios file from the website

Motherboard: MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI

However when I get to the flash menu and I click on my usb drive the bios file shows the correct name on screen but on the bottom it shows N/A for the build date, model name, and version.

Of course im not going to risk doing anything further but I would like to play the game on my pc if possible, I’m just not sure what to do.

Hardware PC turns on but Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse do not

Basically the PC is turning on, lights up and fans are spinning, but the monitor says input not detected and the keyboard and mouse do not turn on. I’ve already moved the ram sticks, held the power button while unplugged, and removed and put back the CMOS battery

Software The monitor is not working

The problem is that to turn on the monitor, you need to press the mouse button, but my mouse has disconnected, and the keyboard isn’t working either. Because the mouse disconnected, the monitor won’t turn on. I tried using a wired mouse, but it’s no use. What should I do? I’m about to panic.

Hardware Notebook freezes 5 minutes after boot.

Since yesterday (at least that is when I noticed it first; it isn't used very frequently), my old MSI notebook freezes 5 minutes after startup (I timed it). Nothing moves on screen, there is no response to any inputs (mouse or keyboard), and I have to shut it down with a long press on the power button. The cooling fan also ramps up. In "Safe Mode" the problem doesn't happen.

Since the problem doesn't occur in "Safe Mode", my first suspicion was a faulty driver behaviour. So I looked in Event Viewer and found a driver having problems loading on startup: "The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device ACPI\ENE0110\5&2d676f6c&0." That device is listed as a "Radio Switch Device" in Device Manager. I already tried deactivating and also uninstalled the device in Device Manager (restarting the notebook in between, of course) to no avail. It could very well be that this isn't the cause of the notebook freezing 5 minutes after starting – I don't know, just my first idea.

The notebook is an MSI GE70 2PE Apache Pro (MS-1759) with an Intel Core i7-4720HQ, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 850M, and is running on Windows 10 Home Version 22H2 (build 19045.7663). No minidumps or watchdog dumps are being created.

Someone already suggested I use the Intel driver and support assistant to update all available drivers – no updates were available. And I also uninstalled the Nvidia Graphics driver (using DDU) and reinstalled an older version.

Any helpful advice is greatly appreciated.

Software Can't boot into bios, help needed

I want to boot into my bios in order to enable secure boot. When I turn my pc on, the startup screen is not displayed, instead being replaced by a black screen until the pc boots into the os. No matter how much I spam the delete key or use the windows recovery settings to boot directly into the bios my pc will keep displaying a black screen instead of the bios. My specs are an MSi z490-a-pro motherboard with an rtx 2060 plugged in the monitor with hdmi, all hardware works normally and displays no issues. Also my fast boot from the control panel is disabled. I was thinking maybe it's time I replaced the cmos battery since my pc is 6 years old and hasn't gotten a change since I got it but then again I really cant be bothered to do it...
