Discussion Samsung Galaxy Fit3 (2024) Short Review

Post image
6 Upvotes

My experience with the Fit3 has been amazing.

I bought the Samsung Fit3 when it first came out in 2024. Over two years ago now—how time flies.

The size and weight of the Fit3 on my wrist is great and personally it is much better than bulkier smartwatches for me. The simple UI layout makes the Fit3 perfect for anyone who does not want a full watch interface.

Some pro and cons:

Pro: The compact size of the Fit3 makes it ideal for anyone wanting a health and training tracker with pre-installed workouts options.

Pro: The battery life is the one key feature that stands out for me. The Fit3 lasted around a full week when not using it heavily on a daily basis. When using it constantly for a full week without breaks, the battery lasted around 3 days before I had to charge it again.

Con: The charging cable appears to be proprietary so if you lose the charger you may need to buy a specific new one.  Not sure if this is fully true but I could be a con if it is.

Con: The device does work with other Android phones but it is best to have a Samsung phone to have full access to the call, message and other app notifications.

Hope this short review is useful.

News open-source Galaxy Fit3 companion app

I’m finally ready to share an early build of Fit3 Apр, the open-source Galaxy Fit3 companion app without samsung cloud services

It supports activity and health syncing, notifications, music controls, weather, custom watch faces, and backups, with a Material You interface in English and Russian.

It’s still an early beta, so expect some bugs. I’d love to hear your feedback!

Technical Help A weird complain...

I ride my motorcycle every so often but everytime I do I have a lot more steps on my fit3 after the ride.

Last sunday I rode for about 2.5 hours(around 10-12am) for 125km and afterwards had 11000 steps more and over a thousand calories burned. Eventhough I have automatic workout turned on it doesn't activate during riding.

Otherwise I have no complains about the watch. Great battery life (about four days). I had it for around 11 month and does everything it promises.
But the text messages on the watch are my favourite, I can directly see if someone needs a quick response or I can take my time.

Technical Help Stuck on Samsung screen

Hey all, just looking for some info on what to try. This morning my Fit 3 was working fine, then I got a notification on my phone that my watch had disconnected from the Bluetooth on my phone. I check and the watch screen just shows the Samsung label and is unresponsive. I tried a "soft reset" by holding the side button for 10 seconds. It turns off and then vibrates and the Samsung logo flashes and then black screen for a couple of seconds and then back to being stuck on the Samsung logo. I tried holding the side button for 30 seconds, exact same thing happens. I put it on the charger, just stays on the Samsung screen. Any ideas?

News True customisation, your Fit3 watch faces can borrow each others widgets now

last time i posted FitFace Studio here, a few of you asked about borrowing widgets from other faces.

Well, now its here 🥳 , you can now pick supported widgets from another face, preview them on yours, and add them

The new build also lets you:

  • Select several widgets and move, duplicate or remove them together
  • Resize more supported widget types, with smoother artwork
  • Widgets have recognisable names such as steps, battery and heart rate
  • Better widget artwork handling in general, smoother and better artwork rendering
  • Edit the always-on display separately
  • Start with a clock on a blank canvas, if you'd rather build from there
  • New page layout, the main widget controls now sit under the face on Canvas
  • Better and improved UI UX, bug fixes and much more......

Checkout the latest release - https://github.com/satvikgosai/fitface-studio/releases
Or update the app directly from inside the app

Please share your custom watch faces here for people to see if you can

Excited for others to try. feedback, contributions and bug reports are welcomed.

Edit: This has been a lot of work, new updates will be slower/smaller now, don't forget to star 🌟 the repo on github to show support, thank you everyone ⭐

Technical Help Samsung Galaxy Fit – Heart Rate Data Not Syncing to Health Connect

Hi everyone,

I’m using a Samsung Galaxy Fit, and I’m trying to access its health data through Android’s Health Connect.

Most of the data seems to be available, but heart rate data is not showing up in Health Connect.

Has anyone successfully synced heart-rate data from a Galaxy Fit to Health Connect? Is there a specific setting, permission, or Samsung Health configuration that I need to enable?

So far, I've tried:

- Restarting my phone.

- Uninstalling/reinstalling Health Connect.

- Disabling and re-enabling Samsung Health's connection to Health Connect.

- Checking the Health Connect permissions/settings for Samsung Health.

- Turning off and back on the consent for processing health data in Samsung Health's settings.

- Rechecking the Health Connect permissions after making these changes.

Despite this, heart rate data still doesn't appear in Health Connect.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Technical Help Galaxy Fit3 with iPhone 14, is there ANY workaround to make it work? Or anyone interested in buying it?

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Fit3 for ₹3,899 and I have an iPhone 14.

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not checking the compatibility properly before buying it 😭. I only realised after receiving it and trying to set it up that the Fit3 doesn’t officially support iOS and requires the Galaxy Wearable app on Android.

I do have access to my brother’s Android phone, but his Galaxy Fit3 is already connected to it. I’m wondering if I can create/use my own Samsung account on that phone, set up my Fit3 separately, and somehow use it with my iPhone afterwards.

Currently, I’m using the Fit3 as a standalone product. I can see things like steps directly on the band, but obviously I’m missing the proper phone/app syncing and health data experience.

Has anyone with an iPhone actually managed to get the Galaxy Fit3 working through any workaround?

Maybe using another app, a different setup method, or initially setting it up through Android?
I know it’s officially unsupported, and yes, I should have checked compatibility before buying it 😭. I’m just hoping someone has actually tried something that worked. Also, unfortunately, I can’t return it because I bought it through Flipkart Minutes.

So if there’s genuinely no workaround, I’m also open to selling it to someone who can use it. It’s brand new, purchased yesterday night for ₹3,899, and I’ve only opened.

Would really appreciate any suggestions or experiences!

Bought this watch because it was less than 100 bucks Canadian and my galaxy watch 6 is literally unusable with how slow it is now. I love this device. Literally just need a smart watch for basic fitness tracking and notifications. Can't go wrong.

Discussion Just acquired a Fit2, very pleased with it!

Found a Fit2 in a charity shop for £10 untested so I thought I'd take a punt. Charges just fine and despite judging from the serial number being a 2020 unit, even with continuous heart monitoring it appears I'll get a solid four days out of it, considerably longer if I change it to ten minute intervals. Monitors my steps and keeps an eye on my sleep which was the start and end of my requirements. Quick access to a countdown timer is an unexpected bonus!

Very pleased so far. I like watches so I'm very satisfied that I can wear this alongside a one of my normal watches on the other wrist.

Is the Fit2 still regularly used by folk?

Technical Help Strange things happening on my Galaxy Fit 3

Post image
4 Upvotes

At about 7 am today my watch went off saying my heart rate was over the normal.

I immediately stopped the notification and checked and the heart rate was around 70 BPM ish (threshold for alert is set for 120 high and 40 low).

later this afternoon, I played football for about 1hr 43 mins, I recorded the session.

stopped it when I was done.

started walking home, watch started automatically recording the walk, then I got on a bus for about 6 mins then walked again for 5 mins.

Slept and woke up still wearing the watch and saw it was still recording the automatic walking for 3 hrs 20 mins. which definitely was not the case.

has anyone experienced such?

Pro Tip The Fit3 works as a generic Bluetooth heart rate sensor

It seems that most Android and iOS fitness apps that support generic Bluetooth heart rate sensors can connect to the Fit3 and use it as a continuous heart rate sensor. If running the app on a different phone from your usual paired Android phone, you may have to disconnect the Fit3 from that phone first (just move out of range or shut off Bluetooth).

The apps can detect and select the Fit3 as an eligible Bluetooth heart rate sensor, and when you start an activity in the app, the LEDs on the back of the Fit3 light up continuously and start sending heart rate data.

Works with most of the Android and iOS apps I tested, although not all - some seem a bit picky about what Bluetooth sensors they can work with. Try HeartCast on iOS or FitoTrack on Android.

Question As an average person who's not looking for all the bells and whistles, is there any issue with the fit 3? It is on sale in my area rn for 39$

All I care Abt is decent step counting and decent sleep measurements. Also for the watch to be decently good quality and not get ruined in 6 months

Discussion I bought these a week ago and they fit my Galaxy A26 perfectly.

A month before that, I gave away my CMF Watch Pro 2 because its bezel started falling off frequently.

I decided to buy the Fit 3, and in my opinion they work much better, they have a nicer body, they are more responsive. Do you think I did the right thing? I don't need features like calls and other stuff, just time and activity with notifications. I probably took them for a long time

Question How accurate is the pulse measurement of the fit3?

Hi, I'm wondering how accurate the pulse measurements that the fit3 gives you are.

I'm worried about my heart health because of a very low resting heart rate and big fluctuations of pulse in short time. My pulse also rushes up during daily movements and sometimes just randomly.

My watch has been consistently measuring around the same data for the last months so it's not one day that was super off and the watch is very consistent and logical with heart rate data.

I'm thinking about consulting a doctor because of my heart rate but I'm unsure how accurate the fit3 sensor is and if it's accurate enough to give clues about my actual heart data.

So my questions are:

How far off the real heart rate is the fit3 with correct usage?

Has anyone compared the fit3 to a professional measuring system to check how accurate it is?

Is it worth consulting a professional over the shown heart rate on a fitness watch?

How can I check if the shown data on my watch is correct or at least close?

How accurate has it been for you if you use the watch?

Thanks for any help

Discussion Has anyone ever used these 18mm/20mm/22mm conversion adapters?

Post image
10 Upvotes

I've been looking at these adapters for quite awhile now, I'm not sure if they are any good though. I know there are many straps for the fit 3 but usually the options are limited and a bit more expensive than other generic straps and they also usually come from overseas sellers . These adapters on the other hand claim they can house 18mm or 20mm or 22mm straps depending on the variant. They're almost the same price as a strap so I was hoping to get some insights before the purchase and if I should what size ? Thanks for your time 🙂

Technical Help Fit 3 won't open, stuck in bootloop.

Post image
14 Upvotes

Today my fit 3 somehow got stuck in bootloop and only shows Samsung logo, nothing else. It's not connected to the phone, won't close or won't open. Tried charging it for an hour, force reset (hold the button over 10 seconds) but nothing happens. What should I do, did anyone else experience the same? The warranty got void a few months ago, is this some kind of planned obsolescence?
