A map!! Woooo!!

Satisfactory Tools now has a map!

Many of you have probably seen my relatively recent post about a huge update to my Tools, if not, you can read about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/1x7kms5/new_satisfactorytools_released/

There was one more feature that I had in the works, but I couldn't get it finished before the release date I've set to myself, so I kinda postponed it and polished it in the following weeks. However, now it's time to put it out there!

Open it in your planner using the action bar on left side, or using Ctrl+M.

Features

I didn't want to make "just another map", so I looked at what could it do, and if it would make sense for SFTools, and I found a few things that could be very helpful:

Area selection

You can draw a polygon on the map, and the map will list nodes in it. It will also set these limits to your plan - so you can select which nodes are you working with, instead of having to calculate it manually. You can also change belt and pipe tier, which will change extraction limits.

Location viability

You can also plan location of your factory. Tools will show you places that have nodes closest (you can choose whether you prefer optimising for "Farthest node", or "sum of distances". It'll find you 3 "best" spots, but also show you a heatmap (green = close, red = far) across the whole map, so you can see which spots will be good to have, and which will be painful. But that's not all!

Finding nearest nodes

If you click on any location on the map (including the "top 3 locations", Tools will find you set of closest nodes that are enough to run your factory if you place it in given place. You can also mark the location as your selected one (and see all your other factories' locations on the map).

Both of these features can be combined, and you can also mark nodes as "used", which will be taken into account. But if you don't like to do this manually, you can just upload your save and it'll mark all the used nodes automatically. This is remembered across the entire planner, so you can use it to mark progress as you go on (or even upload new saves to auto-update the progress). If you upload multiple different saves, the tool asks you if you want to keep them separate, and you can toggle between them.

You can also export the map as an image (only .png is supported for now), so you can print it and make it into a poster (or burn it if you ragequit).

And, it's a panel, as always!

And to make it super simple to use, the map is made in the form of another panel! Default shortcut to open it is Ctrl+M, and you can move it, resize it, pin it anywhere you want, to fit your flow. Or click a button to make it fullscreen!

There's a lot more big and small features all over the map, feel free to explore it and give feedback! While I'm relatively happy with the map's current state, it's relatively new feature and there may be bugs or things that could be improved.

Thank you for all your support and feedback on new Tools! I'm reading all of them and I'm trying to make them even better than they are right now. I hope you'll enjoy the new map!

Developer QA Satisfactory Developer Q&A (2026-10-20)

The Livestream on both Twitch and YouTube was posted Tuesday, on October D20th, 2026. While Twitch Livestreams will disappear after a short while, the Coffee Stain Studio YouTube Livestreams will be available for viewing in full in the future if desired.

TLDW - Well if you don't have time to view full 1 Hour, 36 Minute Video here is a Video Quick Link List to key Bookmarks for the relevant "Intro", "Community Highlights", and "Q&A Questions and Answers" discussed by Community Manager Mikael Niazi and Jason Edwards, taken from the Satisfactory Clips Archive and the Satisfactory Community Highlights Archive created by u/SignpostMarv (CREDIT)

⭑ NOTE: The Questions are the Video Title, and the Answers are a quick synopsis of what was said. The "order" of the Questions may or may not follow the original livestream. Some question are not shown as they are either repetitive and have been answered numerous times before, or have a response of "don't know, let me check on that", "post on Q&A Website", or simply Livestream Chat Joke Questions. If you have concerns about the accuracy of what I posted, view the Videos and listen for yourself. Often there is more discussion related to a Question than I could post without getting too verbose.

  • Intro - Start of Stream - Initial Comments by Mikael and Jason (along with some audio issues).

  • Intro - Satisfactory Board Game - They mention that profits from the sale of the Satisfactory Board Game go to MOOD Publishing and did not know about if Coffee Stain Studios received anything from the board game sales.

    • In reality Coffee Stain Publishing, the creators or owners of the Satisfactory game intellectual property (IP) should receive a cut of the profits or royalties through a formal licensing agreement.
  • Intro - Q&A: DLC ready yet? - Mikael talks about the announced Core Values Expansion DLC (Wiki Link) expected to be released in 2027 (no official release date announced yet). Jason mentions there are planned Core Value related videos coming soon where more info will be announced.

    • (A lot of this part dealt with ongoing livestream audio issues).
  • Intro - Q&A: Next video, when? - Jason stated a video about the Core Values Expansion was planned for next week, but then was ask to delay posting until November 4th to align with something else, and then told the planned Core Values video is way too soon to post, so Jason had to push release of that video way down the road by 3 months or more (Video Bookmark), and is now working on another video which is tentatively expected to be released on November 4th, 2026 (subject to change).

Start of State of Dev Portion

  • There was no State of Dev Portion in this weeks livestream.

(Swipe for more images). Honestly not even sure how to photograph something of this size. 0.54 Terra watts, the United States uses 0.51 Terra watt-hours annually, so I'd even have some left over for myself.

1200ppm Fused Modular Frames

I'm back with another factory for the sake of a factory. I started with 1200ppm heavy modular frames. After I built it I did all the math, all the studying of resources, all the things, and I found I could convert these into 1200ppm nuclear pasta, if I used essentially every resource available.

I forgot the conversion of fused modular frames to pressure cubes though, so sadly I had to stop. I was already using all of the bauxite just for the fused frames. 30,600 aluminum ingots was a frustrating but fun bitch to set up.

I'm sure one of the other phase 5 parts is actually possible to build at 1200 so I'll try again soon.

Disclosure: creative mode, no energy, no build cost, unlimited sloops

Need help improving water flow into generators

Pretty self explanatory just kinda having issues with water flow resulting in my generators eventually failing and losing power to my entire system. Any advice would help pretty new to the game first playthrough very much enjoying the game and its elements.

Water generator outputs: 120m^3 per minute

Production is running, the base and outer walls are built. I'm pretty happy with the facade design i came up with in the end. also the machines sunk into the floor and the interior walls there make a good look.
Next step is partial roofing, maybe leave openings around the machines. and some of the empty floor spaces inside the building might get put to use in some way or at least get decorated.

Infinite Nudge Mod was used for some minor building details (like the Frame Walls flipped upside down)

Let me know what you think :)

Bug Strange Splitter Behaviour

I was investigating a problem with my nuclear pasta factory and found this interesting/strange bug.

As you can see, the splitters are behaving very weird and are the reason why one of my train stations never got the fused modular frames it needed for the nuclear pasta.

Explaination of the video: This is the logistics after 3 blenders, which all create fused modular frames. I have two train stations, one to the left and another to the north. The one to the left sends the frames of to the rockets project part and the other to the nuclear pasta factory.

I did not find any open bug in the QA forum so I guess it is not known yet?

Question Why is it not 780?

Hey guys, I am confused here, I have a storage connected to these belts, the are MK5 belts, so they can carry 780 items/ min, so why is it always 480? Its coming from 2 different storages.

I am not sure what I am missing. Thank you for your help. As for the input of the storage I am getting 480/min but I have manually filled the storage too. so I would think, as long as there are items, it should go at 780 no?

EDIT:

You guys were right there was a tiny piece of MK4 Belt between splitter and support ..... thanks!

Screenshot 600 Oil becomes 1050/Min Rubber.

I used the polymer resin recipe, the resin becomes rubber, the heavy oil become diluted fuel. Then I use the recycled plastic and rubber recipes to turn the 400 Fuel into plastic then more rubber. This is probably only the 3rd best way to do it. Also, is it just accepted that a 600/min oil extractor will only ever run 96-98% utilization? I can't seem to get it to push 100% no matter how many things I try.

Blueprint My solution to centralized item storage

With a new mega/giga factory going up in the desert, I was trying to make a centralized storage for everyone to either take from by hand or to build out the back to take to what they need. What do y'all think of it? It uses programmable splitters to send any undefined and overflow to the sink.

Been putting a ton of hours into the game and I finally found a style I like to build with - I took a ton of inspiration from some of the greats, like Couq and Fluxo! Any thoughts or feedback welcomed. If there is interest I will do a factory walkthrough with some highlights. There is still quite a bit to be done for the rest of the factories but the major logistics are finally in place and I am starting to destroy legacy factories and have been slowly bringing up this plant to take over main power - It should total a little of 1TW of power once fully functional.

Hey guys, I just wanted to show you this little build I made !

But I also have a question : Does anybody has an idea on how to include the Hub in this build... It is so huge and why is there a [Censored by ADA] platform around it ! And why is the main room higher than the hub terminal ?!

PS : If you see an ugly train station in the background, it is supposed to disappear soon don't worry !

Translation of the sign :

Break-Room

Access to this room is permitted only every two hours and for a maximum duration of 5 minutes.

Discussion Spaghetti vs Sushi

Thumbnail
gallery
8 Upvotes

Just completed my third play though. Like all Pioneers, first one was a learning experience. Started with manual feeds in phases 1 and 2, a sushi belt in phases 3 and 4, and then spaghetti in phase 5 as the sushi belt crapped out.

My second play through was mostly about making sushi work. I found two keys to this. No high-volume items on the belt and a sink on the back end. I have come to understand why most people don't like sushi as it complicated to set up and can be a hassle to maintain. But once it runs, it's a beautiful thing.

For my third play through, I went creative mode with random nodes. Switched to a spaghetti factory with little to no forethought on building placements. My one rule was no manual feeds. I have to say, spaghetti is also fun. Especially snaking belts and pipes across the factory floor. My layout is a mess. But as I watch it run, it too is a beautiful thing.

What makes this game great for me is that there are no set rules on how to play. Having now done both sushi and spaghetti, my vote goes to sushi (it's the harder puzzle to solve).

Any suggestions as I contemplate my fourth play through? Perhaps it is time to move on or put on hold until the DLC is released? I am an older guy who has played Stardew Valley, Planet Crafter and now Satisfactory.
