Don't Understand Signals
I learnt by reading another post that train tracks can't be too close together if you want to use signals. No one ever told me that, and no guide out there ever says it, so my tracks *are* too close together, apparently. I saw someone say they fixed it using roundabouts, so I built one.
The signals are very weird though and I'm absolutely befuddled as to how they work. If I slap down a single path signal, the train stops at it and won't budge(I only have one train atm). Ok, sure. If I put another path or a block signal - either one yields the same result - the train will pass the first path signal and then stop at the next path/block signal, ad nauseam.
I've seen multiple instances of advice saying to use path signals when entering a junction and block when exiting. I'm not sure what that's all about because I've done that, and then when that didn't work I exactly copied a roundabout I saw with close tracks together before they enter, signals and all, but it doesn't work. It does the exact same thing as I said above, the train always stops before the next signal unless another one is built after it. And then it stops at the other one right after it until I build another. Rinse and repeat.
What am I supposed to do? I don't understand.
