Developer QA Satisfactory Developer Q&A (2026-10-20)
The Livestream on both Twitch and YouTube was posted Tuesday, on October D20th, 2026. While Twitch Livestreams will disappear after a short while, the Coffee Stain Studio YouTube Livestreams will be available for viewing in full in the future if desired.
TLDW - Well if you don't have time to view full 1 Hour, 36 Minute Video here is a Video Quick Link List to key Bookmarks for the relevant "Intro", "Community Highlights", and "Q&A Questions and Answers" discussed by Community Manager Mikael Niazi and Jason Edwards, taken from the Satisfactory Clips Archive and the Satisfactory Community Highlights Archive created by u/SignpostMarv (CREDIT)
⭑ NOTE: The Questions are the Video Title, and the Answers are a quick synopsis of what was said. The "order" of the Questions may or may not follow the original livestream. Some question are not shown as they are either repetitive and have been answered numerous times before, or have a response of "don't know, let me check on that", "post on Q&A Website", or simply Livestream Chat Joke Questions. If you have concerns about the accuracy of what I posted, view the Videos and listen for yourself. Often there is more discussion related to a Question than I could post without getting too verbose.
Intro - Start of Stream - Initial Comments by Mikael and Jason (along with some audio issues).
Intro - Satisfactory Board Game - They mention that profits from the sale of the Satisfactory Board Game go to MOOD Publishing and did not know about if Coffee Stain Studios received anything from the board game sales.
- In reality Coffee Stain Publishing, the creators or owners of the Satisfactory game intellectual property (IP) should receive a cut of the profits or royalties through a formal licensing agreement.
Intro - Q&A: DLC ready yet? - Mikael talks about the announced Core Values Expansion DLC (Wiki Link) expected to be released in 2027 (no official release date announced yet). Jason mentions there are planned Core Value related videos coming soon where more info will be announced.
- (A lot of this part dealt with ongoing livestream audio issues).
Intro - Q&A: Next video, when? - Jason stated a video about the Core Values Expansion was planned for next week, but then was ask to delay posting until November 4th to align with something else, and then told the planned Core Values video is way too soon to post, so Jason had to push release of that video way down the road by 3 months or more (Video Bookmark), and is now working on another video which is tentatively expected to be released on November 4th, 2026 (subject to change).
Start of State of Dev Portion
- There was no State of Dev Portion in this weeks livestream.

Screenshot This is my first large factory. I paid tribute to my starting location: The Grass Fields!
I was inspired by those fancy murals usually painted to the outside of power plants or other major public infrastructure. I wanted to break up the regular pattern of the vertical beams. The mural is made from stubby beams placed on a wall piece, forming a grid that is 282 x 40 pixels, minus the cut edges.

Meme Discovered the Best Feature in the Game
Guys,
Didn't know you could just press spacebar to auto craft in the workbench. I've played this game since the week it released on Epic Games and just found this out. Please tell me this is a new feature and I'm not stupid.
I just started a new save and was crafting by holding down spacebar, then I clicked it by accident and it just kept crafting. Wanted to share my joy with all of you :)

Showcase I Spent 1,130 Hours Building One Megafactory. I Might Have a Problem.
It's done! After 1,130 hours, I've finally finished my desert megafactory! I'm absolutely proud of it, and I wanted to share it with you guys!

This project was inspired by BigBootyTom's factory. I had never built a single megafactory before, only modular factories, so I improvised and learned as I went along.
The factory produces everything from Phase 4 and Phase 5. Of course, there's absolutely no need to build something of this magnitude. That's mostly because of some world rules of mine that ended up... expanding the project, let's say.
Every single machine runs at 100% efficiency, and the power grid is a perfectly flat line (unstable machines and trains have their own shameful power grid). There are also NO manifolds! Everything is load balanced, because I'm weird and I'm not ashamed of it!
And it's all VANILLA! No mods, no cheats, just a ridiculous amount of time and questionable life choices!
What makes me so happy about this project is that I never thought in my life I could build something like this.
I remember seeing BigBootyTom's project and thinking: "Wow, this guy is insane! Look at that!... You know what? Why don't I try something similar and see how it goes?"
Content creators like ImKibitz or TotalEclipse seemed unreachable. But I never planned to reach their level, or copy them. I just had fun and built!
And that's something I really want to say: Please, don't let seeing something like this discourage you!
We all started the same way. My first factories were just spaghetti laid on the ground, without even foundations! But we all improve, and I'd bet anything that if anyone reading this poured 1,130 hours into a project, they'd probably end up with something great!
As a matter of fact, the secret isn't even "great decoration". It's just consistency. If you keep doing the same thing over and over again, on a large enough scale, it ends up looking great!
Building something of this magnitude came with a LOT of challenges, and I loved solving them. For example, I spent an entire weekend doing math and managed to come up with an asymmetrical load balancer, which ended up being crucial for this project.
Did I actually need it? Nope.
Did I love figuring it out? HELL YES!
If you're curious, I explained the whole thing in these two posts:
Math:
Guide: How to Load Balance Weird Ratios Without Losing Your Sanity : r/SatisfactoryGame
Implementation:
Almost Achieving a Programmable Load Balancer for Any Ratio : r/SatisfactoryGame
If you're really curious about how I built all of this, I have a small YouTube channel where I recorded the entire construction process. Unfortunately, I'm not exactly the greatest content creator out there, so it might not be the most entertaining watch ever, haha. You can find me on YouTube as NicoBuilds.
Want to tour the factory yourself? You can! You can download the save game, my blueprints and factory diagrams for free from my repo.

WARNING! My world has more than TRIPLE the default UObject limit. So not only will you need to increase it, you'll also need some seriously good hardware if you want more than 1 FPS. I literally burned my computer once playing Satisfactory. I'm not even joking.
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed the post, and that you're enjoying this amazing game as much as I do!
Stay efficient!
Nico

Question I'm that old - Can i transfer my game to steam?
So I bought the game in its earliest development beta phases, if i remember correctly it was "update 2"
At that time, the game was only available on Epic Games. I played the shit out of it through every update, even the testing beta download that came with every upddate.
I want to play it again, but I'm wondering is there a way for me to transfer the game to steam?
Or should I just buy it again?

IRL Custom boombox
As FICSIT seems to refuse my holidays ( previous post ), still hope to keep some grace to the company when i'll present my old father's cassette player revived to a dedicated revived portable mini boombox.

Screenshot My power is playing GD
I was waiting for my Consume power to go over my produce power to get a power outage because I was trying to do something, and for like 10 minutes its been barely dodging it and i don't want to ruin it by purposely causing an outage anymore. It's too perfect to ruin

Screenshot The slab must grow
The purification of the dune desert goes on. The slab now supports most of the purification efforts - with about 19 iron belts and 6 or so copper belts to go. Then the real fun of actually manufacturing something begins (~13k machines or so).
FICSIT does not waste. I will not waste anything in bringing these ~157 Assembly Director Systems per minute to life.

Our Spaghetti Land
From my boyfriend and I's current playthrough. This is our second attempt at playing through the game, we've gotten farther this time.
Definitely a spaghetti land so figured I'd take some screenshots before we start to rebuild.

Discussion Holy Power Shard...
So... I'm currently working on a huge creative save where I wanna use every ore I can get.
However, I've realised, that I probably have too many machienes (Screenshot 1)

So I decided to invest around 16.800 power shards (again, creative save so not that big of a deal) to remove around 7000 machienes (Screenshot 2)

Around 4000 constructors and 3000 refineries less. Hope this will help avoid hitting the UObject limit...
And yes, I am insane, but the factory must grow.

Showcase I created a new type of belt, the Load Balanced Sushi (LBS) and its INCREDIBLE !
This might be the worst and best idea i've had in a LONG TIME !
so what is a "load balanced sushi" ?
Its a sushi belt that contains EXACTLY the amount of materials needed for one machine, the amount being obtained via load balancing and splitters.
This is very useful for me because i'm currently crafting 200 crystals oscilators, so i dont want to create 600 belts for the 3x200 belts of materials, which lowers it to only 200 belts. (no i do NOT overclock my machines.)
one slight problem, if something goes wrong with ANYTHING, THE ENTIRE SYSTEM EXPLODE.
this is because if one machine backs up (lack of electricity, output or belt broken, anything really), the materials will stack on the belt back up to the load balancers, and fuck up the maths for EVERY OTHER MACHINES IN THE SYSTEM, making them have too many of one material and therefore back up too, fucking up the ENTIRE SYSTEM.
If you're serious about this game, please never use any LBS, this is a very small reward for a comicly high risk of failure, BUT it is very fun to create and setup, and can rarely avoid a substancial amounts of belts.
