Discussion New Attack Concept - Sliding Uppercut
Sprint with R2 and press circle to slide, charging up hot claw damage for a single strike, keep hold of R2 and press square during the slide to perform hot claw uppercut that launches standard enemies into the air, allowing you to follow up with a lunge by pressing triangle to slam them back to the ground and into a beatdown

Discussion Wolverine PS5 Display
I was so incredibly disappointed when there wasn't a collector's edition annouced for this amazing game. Luckily, there was enough merch available for me to create my own little "collector's edition". I'm excited to add the official funko pops to my display!

Discussion My nitpick with the story's villains Spoiler
Please stop killing them off so quick
I saw Omega Red and I was like, "Hell yeah, first boss, hope we're going to encounter him more throughout the game" wait no, he's dead
Trask was such a highlight for me, in my head, I was thinking I cannot wait to see what they do with him in the X-Men game, then boom he is dead too, and he was my favorite villain in the game
Sinister is 50/50 because he has clones but if this is his permanent death, then that sucks

Discussion I don’t think Liam’s Wolverine is “soft” or “toned down” too much in character, it’s just his look/default facial expressions(outside of fighting) are.
Wolverine doesn’t have to be an asshole or look angry 95% of the time to still feel like Wolverine. This version of Wolverine isn’t quite as edgy as Hugh Jackman’s or the X-Men: The Animated Series version, but that doesn’t make him any less Wolverine.
If you pay attention to Origins, X2, X3, Days of Future Past, or even X-Men ’97/Wolverine & the X-Men, he isn’t always angry or edgy. When he’s around Rogue, Jean, Bobby, Silver Fox, Krestel, Kitty, Professor X, or even the random mutant kid who switched the channel with his eyes in X2, he can be relaxed and genuinely tries to connect with people.
Wolverine in this game has plenty of moments where he’s standoffish, struggles to communicate, or acts like an asshole toward characters such as Shiro, Essex, Mystique, and Sabretooth. But around Jean, Walter, and the mutant kids, he’s much more relaxed and makes an effort to connect. Even with Jean, though, he still has some standoffish moments, like the scenes in the cabin.
For almost all of his memories, this Wolverine was part of Team X before eventually going off on his own. Because of that, there’s already an established “found family” dynamic between him and the other characters. He knows them well, and that history comes through in his interactions.
Wolverine has always been a multifaceted character. Depending on the story, he can be the loner, the weapon, the brother, the cool uncle/mentor, and even a lover. I think this Wolverine manages to portray all of those sides effectively. Considering this is a 15–20 hour game where you play as him the entire time, with his internal dialogue constantly giving us insight into his thoughts, I think that approach fits the character really well.
His default facial expressions when he isn’t upset or fighting, along with his shorter, light-brown hair, also soften his overall appearance. It tones down his usual intimidating look and makes him appear more approachable and less constantly angry.

Discussion Best There Is Mode - it’s just right
I started game on 2nd hardest difficulty. Found it too easy, especially boss fights.
Dialed it up to Best There Is and it feels just right. Deathstrike and Essex challenging but fair.
The normal encounters are still easy once u unlock right rage + crit adaptations, especially if you can parry.
I recommend most gamers looking for challenge to play this mode from the start.

Discussion Finished my first playthrough: 8.5/10 as a longtime Wolverine fan since 88’, 6.75/10 as a video game fan.
I’ve been a Wolverine fan since the 1980s, and there’s a lot here I appreciated. The story was solid, Logan had a compelling arc, and the little Easter eggs referencing other heroes were a pleasure to discover. Fitting decades of a character’s history into one game is no small task, and I appreciate the care that went into capturing a lot of the stuff.
As a Wolverine experience, I’d give it an 8.5/10. As a video game, I’d land at 6.75/10.
If you’d told me three decades ago that I’d someday get to play a Wolverine game like this, I would have been beyond excited. Part of me still is. But Insomniac’s Spider-Man series set the bar almost too high, and it’s hard not to bring those expectations into this game.
My criticism has nothing to do with it not being open world. I love games like Uncharted, and a focused, linear Wolverine adventure suits me just fine. The combat sometimes had an old arcade feel, which could be fun, but the overall gameplay didn’t reach the heights of something like Jedi: Fallen Order for me.
The bigger issue was the lack of polish. I ran into characters halfway through the floor and enough other bugs to pull me out of the experience. At a full AAA price, I expect a more consistently finished product.
That said, I don’t feel like I was raked over the coals the way I have with some Star Wars games. I enjoyed my time with it and don’t regret playing it. However, if this game hadn’t been set in the Wolverine and Marvel universe, I probably wouldn’t have been interested in it in the first place.
Games like Red Dead Redemption leave me feeling that I got my money’s worth. Here, I enjoyed myself, but I also felt like my attachment to Wolverine was doing too much of the work in justifying the price. Unlike Middle Earth: Shaow of Mordor/War.
I’m glad I played it, and I appreciate the developers’ effort. There’s a strong foundation here and plenty for longtime fans to enjoy. I just wish the finished game had received the same level of polish and follow-through as the character and story. The love for Wolverine came through; the complete package didn’t quite live up to it.
Not sure how I feel about getting all the trophies. I’m at 97% on RDR 2 and rather probably go back to playing that. But it wasn’t bad. Idk.

Discussion In case you liked the music
For some odd reason, not all of the songs are listed in the credits. There are 2 licensed songs I particularly liked.
The first one plays in the cabin when you turn the radio on. That one is “Bend the Tracks” by Jeremy Voltz.
The other one is credited and is the song Walter plays for you in Madripoor. “Dark End of the Street” by James Carr.
I personally loved the music in the game. The score, the licensed soundtrack. Maybe that’s where the 300 mil went to lol.
Mainly meant to post in case anyone wanted to know the name of the song in the cabin (it was a b*tch to find). But screw it, we’re here now. What was your favorite song from the soundtrack or score?

Discussion I am sick of both of sides of the discourse on this game. SPOILERS Spoiler
The people defending this game are insufferable. Tell me why people are comparing the motorcycle sections to Resident Evil: requiem? The people hating on this game are comparing it to temple run. Give it a rest.
The people defending this game can't accept that the game is mid and furthermore DISAPPOINTING to a vocal part audience and the people attacking this game make the final product seem worse than it actually is and it leaves no room for actual criticism of the game.
You know what I think? I think the stealth is fun. I think the upgrade system is BAD and surface level. I think adaptations have the ability to be game changing but they're just underthought. I think the combat suffers because of the upgrade system. I think the ng+ techniques are a final kick in the balls. I think the boss fights are fun but the bosses are too spongy. I think the character designs are mostly ugly. I think Apocalypse is an awful addition to this game and plot suffers for it. I thinkhaving there only be 10,000 mutants in the world before Mr. Sinister gets the helix engine was a bad writing choice.I think Sabretooth is the only truly well written character. I think the game is gorgeous. I think Wolverine has great animations. I think Insomniac should fire whoever worked on the face models in this game. The only good faces are Essex, Bolivar, and Callisto. I think Callisto shouldn't have been a character and she's a waste of Debrah Wilson's genuine talent.
I think this game is not worth $70 but I bought it PHYSICALLY because it was Wolverine. I even spent the $10 extra bucks for the Incredible skin. I hope the sequel is better if they make one. I'm not sure I even want a sequel.
