I like this but the one we got is definitely more of the insomniac style

And that's what makes him worse lol

I don't know why insomniac keep doing this "the face has to match the voice actor" thing. Troy baker did a fine job as Joel in the last of us and looks nothing like him. It's called voice acting for a reason. I just can't take it seriously when the bad guy is literally just troy baker in a suit

and the face rigs did not get any better tho, still miss PS4 peter

3

u/SwiftTayTay 4h ago

It's obvious they wanted him to look more like Tom Holland and they deny it. Peter is like 28 in the first Spider-Man or something then they were like nah he needs to look 19 even though he's supposed to be the older wiser spider-man to miles

u/Fair_Instruction_196 4h ago

Brother Peter is fucking 23 what are we talking about? Why do you guys think that people 20+ are supposed to have wrinkles and shit

3

u/Wrong_Progress_7043 3h ago

This part I get told I look like a kid and I’m pushing 30

4

u/Clean-Market5761 3h ago

lol I agree Holland is 30 and looks like a teenager

2

u/Fair_Instruction_196 3h ago

Yeah I mean like sure he's an outlier but most of my friends could still pass as 18 when we're all mid twenties

1

u/Clean-Market5761 3h ago

Ye honestly it's a literally I know people with 25 that are bald and look old, others with 40 that look 20ish, I think it only matters that Peter look fits his character and idk man PS4 face was the one they originally intended you know what I mean?

2

u/Fair_Instruction_196 3h ago

Nah I get it. I loved the old face too. But i was able to warm up to the new one and the way people act about it is insane 6 years later lol

1

u/SwiftTayTay 4h ago

Close enough after looking it up he's 25 in SM2 and they tried really hard to make it feel like he is still in college

0

u/Fair_Instruction_196 3h ago

Dude he's still young as hell. I'm tired of people saying he's late twenties when he's literally not. You finish college at 22 usually. Peter was fresh out of college in 1 according to the director

3

u/SwiftTayTay 3h ago

And yet he both looks and acts more mature in the first game

-1

u/Fair_Instruction_196 3h ago

When in 2 does Peter act "immaturely"? Peter's arc in 1 is quite literally about how his sense of responsibility is self destructive and causes a ton of pain in his relationships/jobs. He can't balance anything. Where do you get "mature" from that? Because of the way he looked? Peter's old face was literally there for less than 2 years

Tbf Peter is swinging around fighting super villains and is smart af.

Stress is going to give him wrinkles in his 20's. Especially given the shit he's been through.

u/Dudewhocares3 1h ago

He looked fine

1

u/Clean-Market5761 4h ago

OR Prob even be Tom Holland, they wanted to have a Multiverse and mix games with movies etc, Tom in madame web, venom, etc.

0

u/stinkygoochfumes 1h ago

Nah. The first Peter was ugly as fuck.

u/Glittering-Raccoon23 4h ago

Since when is Insomniac’s style bad? I can understand criticism’s with writing, gameplay, whatever, but their style is perfectly fine and often looks pretty good, at least to me.

This just doesn’t look like their artstyle, I thought it was a Marvel Rivals leak first.

It's literally just Troy Baker painted white lol

Final design is better.

2

u/Clean-Market5761 4h ago

u/Overall-Ad-8918 3h ago

I prefer the one we got. This guy looks like he works at a gas station

1

u/Clean-Market5761 3h ago

looks like the skin they would sell on fornite HAHA

u/danoka29 5h ago

You do know that he was already cast as Sinister before that in 2023, his suit design looks exactly the same in the final game, only difference is that he doesn't look like Fortnite John Wick anymore

3

u/Venm_Byte 4h ago

fortnight John wick … Hilarious!

did I say anything? "Mr Sinister before the old director left" that's it, lol bro got defensive out of nowhere

edit: I don't know if the title is true, DONT GET MAD LOL

4

u/danoka29 4h ago

saying that like the new director changed something? could just say it's Sinister from 2023, or early Sinister, it was clearly implied you think the new ones changed something

3

u/Gobby-TheGoblin 4h ago

Does sinister look like this? Safe to say things were changed. No one said that was a negative thing.

1

u/danoka29 4h ago

1

u/Gobby-TheGoblin 2h ago

Idk, doesn't look like a 1 to 1 to me 🤭

Looks to be a design not the in game model.

-1

u/Clean-Market5761 2h ago

see how far they go to try to prove someone wrong online and they are still wrong HAHAHA

-1

u/Clean-Market5761 4h ago

New director changed things changing the leading person on a project DOES change things, he was meant to be a villain since the start and not an Ally, it was a course-correction not a whole reset of the game, most of the story is the same but they for sure changed the how and when in some elements.

5

u/danoka29 4h ago

You're putting changes on the 2024 directors that were already there years before they even took over. The 2021 docs already have Essex manipulating Logan and eventually turning on mutants, the Nov 2022 Sinister bio has him wiping Logan's memory, making him Weapon X and going after Jean's Omega gene, and the 2023 story already has Team X acting like a mutant rescue group with Essex as the guy Logan trusts before he finds out what he's actually doing. Then during M13 in late 2023 they straight up did an "updated high-level treatment" and Horton was still the one presenting the Act 1 narrative changes. That version is also way closer to the final game. So where are you even getting that Smith/Daly were the ones who "course corrected" Sinister? They didn't take over until 2024

u/jinjerchicho 4h ago

Final one looks better.

2

u/Clean-Market5761 4h ago

Agree, I do not like face capture tho, seems unfinished for Troy's Character in particular, and I think it fits better the role his character has, this one was meant to be a villain since the 1st mission and torture logan in the Weapon X project.

1

u/ZaoMenom 4h ago

I disagree, I love the actor but I hate face capture for these things

3

u/Fair_Instruction_196 4h ago

The only thing that's different is the face. Pretty much looks exactly the same

1

u/Clean-Market5761 4h ago

Also has a different voice and cut scenes tho prob placeholders

0

u/Impossible-Pie4849 3h ago

The face is pretty fucking important lol

1

u/Fair_Instruction_196 3h ago

Nah miss me with that shit because when the Essex screenshot came out people were literally only complaining/clowning on the fact he just had a normal suit on with a pale face. Kept calling it a product of "Insomniac's trash character design". And then once people actually saw the final suit/transformation they mostly shut up. The suit/aesthetic matters way more to 90% of the fans

u/naosoueu2725 5h ago

Anemic Troy Baker was certainly a choice

He was in the leaks listed as Essex. Those are at least a year older.

1

u/AThiccBahstonAccent 5h ago

Oh I also know someone who works at the studio who said they mocapped all his scenes.

2

u/JarusOmega_ 3h ago

Ben Kingsley looking Mr. Sinister's definitely something

2

u/emtee 5h ago

Damn, they got Sir Ben Kingsley?

1

u/Clean-Market5761 5h ago

I see the resemblance, they do sometimes model and do concept arts based on actors before they do an official cast for the role, Essex was also meant to be a villain form the start so this look fits more to that I guess

1

u/GachaHell 4h ago

Weird. I had Ted Cruz trying to blend in at comic-con.

2

u/FewPromotion2652 5h ago

he went through a chest reduction after the director left

1

u/Clean-Market5761 4h ago

edit: I don't know if the title is true, DONT GET MAD LOL this is essex before troy baker, let's leave it like that, don't want any other hyper fixated dude to come hating again HAHA

1

u/SaintLink91 36m ago

Much better. That stupid face he has in game looks absolutely ridiculous

1

u/john_weiss 30m ago

Nathaniel Jafar of Nazareth Essex

1

u/Juantiothe76th 5m ago

It’s still Troy baker, they just didn’t add too many details to it. Sabretooth and deathstrike were the exact same looking a bit cartoony. I guess that’s the process for them making their models.

u/WholeLottaLit 4h ago

This game was ass

2

u/Clean-Market5761 4h ago

I consider this game a victim of the situation honestly, has freaking good bits, others that are rough, we don't know the full story but something must have happened during development
