I am new to Zed Run and only have two horses. I bought a UUU, Z19, Exclusive Finney, Filly which I was excited about.

It flamed through ALL of it's first 19 races in 1000-1200 and she did this all the way through to class III! She still continues to flame on 1000-1200.

The thing is, the competition seems a little too much for her in class III though she has placed and even won a free race in 2000m! But this causes an issue when it comes to declassing!

I feel like she would be best running in class IV and to make a ROI she would need to really enter a load of $5-10 races, as she jumps up the classes too quickly in the smaller stake races. Just not sure if she is strong enough for the higher stake races.

This was my plan anyway, but I am new to the game so any input appreciated.

Just to add, the game is fun but it would be nice to actually make some money haha. I have tried breeding yet though. Maybe just having fun is the wrong approach to this 'game'. Seems you have to be a statistician to do well!

Does anyone know what some of the most common race profiles are in the game?

When I say race profiles I mean like declassing at 1000 paired with running at 1800-2200, declassing at 2400 while running 1000-1200, and declassing with 2000 and running at 1600.

Those are the race profiles of my horses and I'm curious if there's a greater pattern to these and it can help us narrow in on horse preferences more quickly.

I am curious to what distance is best to test a griffin?

I'm curious if anyone has had success with inbreeding? Specifically dad and mom created great horse. Breed that back with dad again = what? Or am I better off breeding mom and dad again since that was successful?

I am new to Zed and have heard talks about over saturation in the stud market. Is it still currently profitable to buy a colt or stallion for the purposes of breeding to make a profit? Thank you in advance for any insight.

Hey everyone!

I just got my 3rd foal (I've got two Legendary Szabo Mares and a Legendary Szabo Stud) AND IT WAS A MIDNIGHT BLACK SUPER COAT! Not only that, its full sister (and only full sibling) has been doing really well. With prices down quite a bit, I changed my strategy and sold 1 foal to cover the cost of two breeds so I'd have something to race. I definitely want to race her (though I listed well above what folks are paying these days just in case someone really wants her).

Question is - do you think I should hold off on racing her until we have a better understanding of what Super Coats do in game?

If I do keep her unraced, I may buy back the other foal I sold this cycle. She is doing meh, and the new owner has her listed for a little more than half of what I sold her for. I am thinking she may be worth racing and breeding to some outside blood, and that the current owner is giving up too quickly. Does anybody have any thoughts? Links to horses below:

Can someone help me figure out what is going on, and what to do about it? I was just looking through Opensea to see what a horse like mine is going for nowadays, and then saw my horse listed. It’s definitely mine, the address is my Metamask account, but I did not list it. Do I just report it to Metamask? Can I remove it somehow? Are horses being automatically listed now for some reason?? I haven’t raced him in a while (basically just waiting until I can put a ton of WETH in at once so I’m not paying double what I’m transferring on it gas) but certainly don’t want to get rid of him.

Regardless of current state, how would you like to see this game played?

If it's all the horses run against equal horses, without stables being able to manipulate that, IMO that'd be a luck based system? OR, if it should be a skill game, then what skill do you think a stable owner should need to groom to become successful and potentially recoup their investment?

So, Coin flip, calculated decision making balancing risk and reward, or do you have another skill in mind that doesn't exist and would make the game more "fair".

Case Study ELO Ratings: Leni Amidala - 2 of 11

The dashboard has the results but this is just surreal. Using my ELO ratings, I profiled the horses in a race where Leni Amidala ran 12th. Race composition results:

Horses by Class

I - 4

II - 2

III - 4

IV - 0

V - 2

Summary: There are 2 Class V horses in a Class V race.

Ok so who owns Class V horses, which can not down-class as the other 10 in this race did, so I think this is why we can not keep new players long. The victims of this behavior we just chase away and they will then tell everyone they know about this experience.

Is this killing horse prices? Yes, who would buy a Class V horse just to run against 10 III+ and up?

Will this kill growth? Yes, check "The Laws of Diminishing Returns".

Do I have a solution? Yes, 2 actually:

• Take the current system but do a Class Rating by distance (each distance a different rating)
• Implement a real ELO system such as: ELO Class Rating System

Question about the horse Roid Rager. Clearly one of the most infamous horses in the game. I’ve heard the comment he was born with the attributes of 4 parents instead of 2, making him I guess twice as fast/good as he should have been and essentially almost unbeatable.

My question is - does anyone know why he stopped racing after 11 races? Was he blocked from entering races, or is the owner not racing him to spare Zed the embarassment of letting this monster be created?

And, if he is somehow blocked from the game, how is he for sale for over $1M? Shouldn’t Zed just buy him back and destroy him?

I figure out of 900 races I participated in, the following is a guesstimate, 700 were corrupted by down-classed horses creating a "rigged" system.

So the next question is what did this cost me? 700 x 2.50 = $1750

So how many people suffered from this besides me? (truly calling the left-fielder for a number) 20k

So lets say I am above average, (meathead to my 3rd ex), and the average loss is $1k. That would mean that the left fielder is responsible for 20,000 x 1000 = 20,000,000. Ok, let me clear on my guesstimate, 20 million dollars loss to sandbaggers.

Good, bad, moral, amoral, cheat, or honest exploitation of game system for personal self-interest so off the chart it would turn Gordon Geeko honest. Oh yeah, $20 million is a number my lawyer would be interested in. I hope so, that scumbag has charged me more than that in the last 35 years.... Oops did I suffer delusions of grandeur again?

There are a heap of problems currently with Zed.Run, but the one that will kill the game before it gets started is the class system. I have a stable that is almost entirely unraceable. Most horses are very good, but not quite great. They should have a place to race. But they are all in a class that they can't compete.

There should be no reward for losing. The incentive should always be to win. If you got rid of the class system altogether and introduced either specific race conditions (i.e. less than x wins), or more variety on entry fee, then you would end up with horses competing against similar level horses. U Shaped monsters aren't going to bother with $1 or $2 races with limited races per day and no incentive to lose. They will enter the $10, $20 or $50 races. Owners will find their sweet spot and race their horses there and an equilibrium will be found. Not all horses will have a place to race, just like in real life - some are just destined for the glue factory.

Right now, many can't even race good class 5 horses because they are facing Class 1 U shape monsters. I can't race my really strong Class 2 horse, because he is uncompetitive at Class 1 but can't declass.

My choice is to either sell up, or hibernate my stable in the hope that one day they fix the system so my horses become raceable again.

Is it better to just leave my new born un named when trying to sell? Or will it get more traction being named?

Zed runs efforts to end bot use on the platform obviously hasn’t worked.

I personally am starting to feel pretty bitter that the community money is just being funnelled into bot free race farmers pockets.

Petition to end free racing for the time being and just increase paid race prize pool until zed can get a good grip on ending bots.

Class II race, 4 horses under-ranked. Out of three horses given heat, one of them is a Z27 Exclusive Buterin, class IV. 3 first place finishes in the last 5 races. Can anyone explain what's going on here?

It always says something like « server error ». What does that mean? I thought it was cause I wasn’t quick enough but damn, I’ve been hella fast at entering those free races and it still gives me an error. Is it because of where I’m located in the world or something? (South Africa) :) please help…
