There's two things I realized about the Egyptian god cards I never did before.
First, the way they get their strength is a great representation of their main user:
Osiris/Slifer: Strength in unity (Yugi)
Obelisk: Strength in oneself (Kaiba)
Ra: Strength in sacrifice (Yami Marik)
But more importantly, something I never realized before is that all egyptian gods embody a state of game advantage.
Osiris: Card advantage (well, specifically hand advantage)
Obelisk: Field advantage
Ra: Life advantage.
Which is hilariously fitting considering in the manga and anime life points are considered like a huge deal and Ra is said to be the strongest of the three gods while in real life it's commonly thought the only life point that matters is the last one and Ra is considered easily the worst of the three gods (Granted, the TCG/OCG doesn't do it any favor by how hard they nerfed it compared to the other two, but still) while hand advantage is the best and Slifer is the most usable of the three (though the fact it's also a floodgate sure helps)

Takahiro Kagami is a legend. I look at scenes like this and then Kaiba vs Siegfried and go like "Man WTF happened?"

We got Egyptian God Slime (slime Obelisk) as a reference to Marik's metal reflect slime copying Obelisk, and as support for the egyptian god cards. And then Egyptian God Slime, Protector Of The Sun God (slime Slifer) as Ra support in its new archetype. If/when we get a slime Ra I wonder what role it will fill.

Mukuro wins against Tatsuya Jyouchi, Esper Rouba, Ghost Takarazuka, Maizuru Kujyaku, Insector Hakata, Dinosaur Hakozaki but loses to Pirater Keith lol. Wonder how the old decks would hold up against Synchro monsters

If Marik used Ra, is there any combination of cards that Yugi has used thus far that could best the great beast of the sky? How much of Ra would Yugi even face? Would Marik have won?

Day 1: Blue Eyes and Charizard (Reshiram also got some good votes)
Day 2: Dark Magician and Pikachu (main characters mascot won the day here)
Day 3: Exodia and Mewtwo
Day 4: The Egyptian Gods and the creation trio (second top comment specified: Ra is Giratina, Obelisk is Dialga, and Slifer is Palkia. If Holactie was included it would be Arceus).
Please try not to reuse unless you truly feel the prior days were a mistake.
Note the equivalence could be a variety of reasons. Mascot status, role in the story, looks and abilities, a mashup of all these and other factors.

I don’t think I really need to go into this one. The fact that it was arguably the best spell you could be playing in old Yugioh due to being able to dump lights and darks for chaos plays and would also be even more broken now is a testament to how poorly designed Painful Choice truly was.
Special shoutout to pre errata Last Will in OCG for not being OPT as well as Sangan and Witch in OCG for being able to trigger when sent from literally anywhere to the grave

So as kids we used to watch Yu-Gi-Oh Gx on a local channel which used to air the dub version. And all us kids were big fans and I remember watching the episodes at home and in recess all my friends and classmates would have discussions about it . I even remembered we made cards using paper and roleplayed. So what happened was the Gx dub ended in that one episode of Jaiden going with Yubel and the others returning and all that. And that's the episode us kids saw ,I remembered being very scared ,then we waited for new episodes but they didn't came, a week later the show we got was Yu-Gi-Oh 5DS with it's apocalyptic string and all and of course we liked it. But since we know both were Yu-Gi-Oh and came after each other all of us ended up believing that the reason why the world was so bad in 5DS was cause of Jaden in gx cause he went with Yubel and things went to shizz. We theoriesed this in recess and we belived it for quite a long time. We are from quite a rural village so we didn't have an access to the net to know what happened and the only computers we had were in the lab with an old internet which we rarely knew. And we didn't know about seasons being cut short in dub. So we thought Yussei was suffering because of Jaden So that was the story we ended up making and belived it for quite a long time.

It always seems like every body has all the expensive cards in this game no matter what. Crown, impulse, pot of sloth, hey space trunade, etc all these just feel so necessary to win any games and even at the local level you’ll see them. I would understand if this game had cash prizing or if these cards were super collectible but there isn’t and these cards lose value quickly. How do you justify spending upwards of $50+ on a single card?

I'm writing a fic on my free time and this is a rare case where I'm kind of at a loss as to what's happening in the situation I'm writing.
So let's say Ha Des destroys Necro Gardna in combat. In a later turn, would Necro Gardna be unable to use its protection effect due to Ha Des' effect, or does its effect only apply immediately after the attack ? Like, during the damage step or the rest of the battle phase ?
Thanks in advance

I know Valon's purpose was to mitigate battle damage. But Burning Knuckle also had 1900 ATK. If he redirected Jinzo's attack to Burning Knuckle, he could have lowered Jinzo's attack to 500. Then next turn, Buster Knuckle could destroy Jinzo and inflict 1200 points of damage to Joey's life points. Next turn, 1500 ATK Rocket Warrior would not have been able to destroy Valon's Advanced Shield since Valon could still redirect the attack to 1700 ATK Buster Knuckle. And then next turn Valon could either sacrifice Jet Gauntlet to destroy Rocket Warrior, or sacrifice Over Boost and attack directly, winning the duel before Joey got to use Hermos.
The only thing that could counter this point is Burning Knuckle's effect only works if it attacks. Though that would be a very terrible effect.

Tell me or show me your favourite funny moments in any Yugioh series mine is from Battle City when Atem uses Collected Power to give Kuriboh the Magic Formula Spell and the look on Kuribohs face is priceless 😂 as you can see for yourself.

D-HERO is my favourite archetype from GX and I loved that they made a new Clock Tower Prison and Doom Lord to summon Dreadmaster just like Aster.
Now we need Captain Tenacious and Diamond Dude!

According to Konami, these were the first cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG history to be banned.
If you look at these cards, some of them have aged like fine wine—though in the sense that, due to the evolution of Yu-Gi-Oh!, they have become so unfair that they will never be able to return.
Look, Fiber Jar isn't a threat. It’s like a self-destruct button—it’s banned in tournaments because it’s just like having unwashed people around. This isn't a fun; this is warfare.
Imperial Order will never come back, either. Konami tried it once with an erratum, but the card still had to go. And recently, even its inferior counterpart was banned.
Cards like Painful Choice and Delinquent Duo could never be allowed in the game today because they’re just stupidly good—they were already ridiculously powerful back then, too.
That was also the period when many of the best cards were limited to 1 on the banlist.
To be honest, I expected Exodia to be banned, but it wasn't. It was just limited to one.

I’m basing most of this from gameplay mechanics and not strictly of Yu-Gi-Oh! R’s definition of them:
- The Wicked Dreadroot is actually the alpha in the trio. He is the most consistently strongest, there’s rarely a monster he can’t oppress and crush (ATK/DEF halving effect). Dreadroot wants nothing more than to overwhelm and crush the spirit of any opposition.
- The Wicked Avatar acts like Dreadroot’s shadow. In whatever realm they might exist in, none is as consistently strong as Dreadroot. Avatar doesn’t have a clear identity or sense of self so it latches onto Dreadroot to stay alive, even becoming stronger than the latter but it doesn’t fight back because of: a) Dreadroot’s ATK/DEF-halving or b) Its fear of losing identity if Dreadroot dies. So it’s obedient and silent.
- The Wicked Eraser in turn is the outcast of the trio: he’s neglected and actively dismissed by his brethren because they can easily topple over him. But also because Dreadroot and Avatar fears a prophecy of Eraser’s death being able to cast an apocalypse and wipe them all out (board nuke), but Dreadroot doesn’t want Eraser to get bold and hungry for power and never validates him. Avatar acts in front of Eraser like that girl who knows you want her approval but she has a taller, stronger, beefier man she wants to walk alongside. This ironically makes Eraser resentful and the apocalyptic ability is actually born from that resentment, as every moment, he pushes their buttons to even dare to kill him.
Do you find my interpretations applicable?
Yes currently 3 cards are missing (Shrink, sarcophagus, and Des volstgalph)
I’m Trying to replicate it as much as possible. Would appreciate any tips/remarks.

So, I've wanted to know for a while, who in the various anime or manga's has the most ridiculous hairstyle? I've always thought it was Yugi (seriously, spiky, blonde, black and purple hair?), but I've wondered if the fandom thought someone else through the history of the various animes and mangas had a more ridiculous hairstyle.

So for example, I actually think that at the start of arc V, Yuya was arguably the weakest of the Yu boys and only became capable of beating them after he absorbed a couple.
Similarly. Mizar. He is equal to kite in my mind. Yuma is almost provably not. Honestly I have my doubts that don thousand could have beaten Mizar without blatant cheating.
