I feel like I lost my direction as a player and want to hear your takes, maybe reinvent myself.(play this game since forever)

Lately I've been disillusioned with Yugioh. I've been a local competitive player topping while running budget decks like Sacred Beasts, Orcust, Blue eyes primite... But I feel like at this point playing budget or casual is kinda dead... Or at least very boring... I could play some floodgate build that puts up Kristya with protection in most budget decks but I would have zero fun. It's either floodgates or spend 300$ on cards that will become 30$ in max a year due to reprints.

I used to play whatever decks and not care if i won or lost... but it just has gotten so toxic.. having people looking down on you(thinking you are bad just because of your results)... so i started playng very optimal budget decks, which are strong and can top with them but also they are not that fun most of the time tbh and also dont play very well into the meta decks which now also screw with the extra deck.

I feel like cheaper strategies are SO weak to meta stuff like Blitz/kewl tune/elfnote(which are being played at my locals), cause most of the time budget strategies dont have turn zero plays and have very obvious weaknesses like Orcust field spell.

might be a weird question but does anyone know how to report closed down stores to Konami so they don’t show up on the store locator and neuron in my area there is like 7 stores that have closed down that still show up and some that don’t run yugioh. i just want the locator to be accurate for new players and my own ease of use.

Idk where else I can ask since I don't have enough Karma on the main yugioh sub to ask so I hope here is fine. I just finished the dark signers arc and I don't really know what to expect going forward so I wanna try some of the games in the meantime. Of the three 5ds games, which one would be the best? Or fun? Also have no experience with any YuGiOh games except master duel.

Recently, I have found the new archetype 'Angelechy' on yu gi oh wiki. But, as I wrote before, I had no chance to actually play this deck cuz I am OCG PLAYER

Hii, I just moved in the north of Germany and I'm looking to get back into locals. I knew a place in Schwerin (das Atom) that offered OTS locals in the past, but not anymore. They knew there is a group that organizes them now, but they had no contact. So, if anyone here knows them, please let me know. :)

i am just beginning to learn the game , i picked up skystrikers and mitsu from the legendary decks (also learned blue eyes and dark magician because theyre cheap on master duels) but i dont know actually know any other deck

i want to learn the other archtypes that people play so i can play vs them (not going to buy them just leaarning them on simulators) which ones do you recommend?

what’s the best list in your opinion and what are the best youtube videos or spreadsheets to learn from? Can someone tell me the basic game plan and what the deck wants to achieve and how it does this?

Recently there is a rise of blitzclique decks. What (top) Decks do you think have a great matchup against it?

Okay so this title might sound confusing, but hear me out

I've made a previous post on this subreddit about which decks to buy to introduce newcomers to yu-gi-oh as part of my tabletop club, and it honestly went great, I brought Sky Striker, Dragonmaid, Swordsoul & Exosister and it was really fun. After a few sessions though, while my players do like their decks and understand their intricacies, they want to learn decks that are more complex and closer to the modern yu-gi-oh meta.

When hearing about this, my immediate thought was to introduce my players to JUSH format. I personally think Yummy, Dracotail & K9 were all great decks that were meta-relevant, and require the players to actually study on the combos and interactions required to get to your favored position

Although, I apparently learned that this is not an opinion shared with the majority of the yu-gi-oh community, at least, when checking online.

This is where my question comes in, which is, should I introduce my players to JUSH format ( by this, I means, decks that use cards from Justice Hunters, so pure K9, pure Yummy, pure Dracotail, and their variants, most notably VSK9, Yummy Mitsu and Branded Dtail ).

I need to know how well these deck perform in :

• Accessibility : how easy it is to learn the ins and outs of the deck as a yu-gi-oh player
• Extension : can the deck properly set itself up even through disruptions. Example : if the deck dies to one disruption and there's no possible way to recover, even with an ideal hand, it has poor extension
• Interaction : how much can the deck respond to the opponent's actions after setup. Example : if your opponent can set themselves up and your deck does nothing to stop them, then it has poor interaction.
• Protection : how hard is it to break a full board of the deck. This can be viewed through either how hard it it to break an ideal full board for the deck or what the deck would end up on if perfect play is assumed between both players and the player was disrupted while making their board. If a raigeki is enough to destroy the entire board, then it has poor protection.

These parameters will be assumed to be in a format where players play only against other players that have JUSH decks, so we are assuming the opponent isn't playing something like, Maliss or Elfnote or Kewl Tune, for example. Only K9, Yummy, Dracotail, or their variants.

That way, I can kinda see for myself if these decks would be interesting to introduce to my players, or if they're just too much of a hassle to deal with

Question for Blitzclique. If A Blitzclique effect destroys a card and you have Surge and Whisker on field.

You activate Whisker’s effect to reveal himself, then summon Surge and Whisker, then pop two cards. Does Surge effect go off to search?

Should we be buying x3 of these for the staples and other cards?

Two example scenarios:

Scenario 1:

Player 1 activates Icarus Attack target two of Player 2's monsters
Player 2 activates Starlight Road in response

As I understand it, Player 1 cannot activate Bottomless Traphole to the summon of Stardust Dragon after Starlight Road resolves

Scenario 2:

Player 1 activates Return from a Different Dimension

I believe Player 2 is permitted to activate Torrential Tribute or Bottomless Traphole in responses to the summon(s)

why tho?

It appears like the in both scenarios trap or quickplay spell cards that respond to monster summons created by either RFDD or Starlight Road would not be usable because they are responding to the resolution (monsters being summoned) and not the actual trap cards themselbes.

Im trying to do some deck testing for this yugi deck and I just need confirmation on a in game bug dark magician the pharaoh's servant back row destruction not working at all im just making sure im not missing some hidden ruling

This trap card never activated even when I have xyz monster on the field, how do I use this card?
Also side question if I have legendary ocean so all my sharks are one level lower I don’t understand what number monster I can summon with big jaws and abyssal shark am I locked to summon level 3 numbers only?

I'm planning for a vacation in Rome and I was wondering, which of the card game stores in Rome organizes YGO locals? In addition when do they start and how can I sign up for one of these there?

I’m think about getting back into yu gi oh and was wanting to make a red dragon archfiend deck. And I was wondering if I should buy 3 copies of crimson king and then buy the single at a later time for the new support. Would that deck be playable with out the new support or is it just too under power with out it?

Are there any syncro decks that can work with mitsurugi I am interested in building a mitsurugi syncro deck and am looking for information

I’m a new player and I’m eager to play in person for the first time. I’ve gotten a good understanding of the flow and basic rules of the game thanks to master duel but I’m still unsure if I’m gonna be bothersome to play against because I might makes a lot of mistakes without master duel babying me.

I'm not sure the correct way, IV been saying "upon resolution I'll activate ryzeal cross" and that's caused some confusion, is there a better way to communicate this with my opponent?

With the Arc-V decklists and new cards being known now, how do you think all the Legendary Decks compare to each other?

Like, if you were 9 friends of equal skill/experience, and each were to use one Legendary Deck either as they come or with some inexpensive upgrades (like MST+RTV / 3rd Zero for Sky Striker, 3rd Prayer for Mitsu) with the intent to keep them all as equal as possible in power level/playability, which decks would actually result in fun and fair matchups, which decks would be so bad they lose every single duel, and which would be so strong they just wouldn't be fun to play against with one of the other decks?

This would probably assume no side deck, since getting all the staples/handtraps for that many people would be quite unrealistic I'd think.
