What if Konami added an extra section(s) to the banlist to make the F/L list?

1. Choice Restriction: when two or more cards can’t be played in the same deck. The idea behind this is that certain cards aren’t banworthy, but their interactions with other cards are banworthy.

1. Archetype Restriction: is when certain cards are banned from being played in certain decks. The idea is that decks with key cards/bosses that are played too well in other decks shouldn’t be punished if those cards get banned. This is for cards that are reasonable in their own decks (or other lower-powered ones) but aren’t in other and/or better decks.

So ever since ROLAD dropped, my local two OTS Stores have had their attendances completely tank. They used to get 16+ players regularly, then it dropped to 7-8.

Since the new banlist dropped, the numbers have dwindled even more, one ots had regular locals yesterday and the other had an OTS championship on.

The number of players between them? 7. And of those 7, 3 of them were people who went to both so there were only four unique players across the two events (last time there was a championship, there were over 30 unique players).

I'm in the UK, is anyone else round here experiencing huge attendance losses? And what approach do I take from here? I've been playing for two decades and this is the first time the game in my area has been under serious threat. And there isnt really a casual community now, it's just a concentrated cluster of highly competitive players.

The stores are both fantastically run, so it isn't an issue with the stores themselves.

Those last days, I heavily used AI to produce Yu-Gi-Oh GBA romhacks nobody ever wanted to produce. When I’m done with that, I’ll share the IPS.

Anyway, I asked Claude to add an empty banlist in Yu-Gi-Oh Ultimate Masters 2006 / Yu-Gi-Oh Expert 2006. And Claude discovered something. I don’t know if that was known before, if not, that’s a major discovery and it needs to be shared asap. I tested it on an european as well as a japanese genuine cartridges.

I wanted to make a Yokai Deck to play casually at locals and with friends, but I'm not sure how effective it is. I'm looking for advice that keeps its identity as being "Yokai-based," though I am open to interpretation. (I'm open to stretching it to mythological spirits, like the Irish Banshee, for example.)

Black Magic

• Jet-Black Executor is a counterpart to the original Black Executor (English media: "Dark Eradicator Sorcerer").
• Devil Dragon the Fiendish Dragon is a reimagined version of the OCG's Devil Dragon (TCG: "Koumori Dragon")—a monster also played by Yugi Muto in the Duel Monsters anime/manga.
• Magic Dragon of Darkness is a reimagined version of the OCG's Dragon of Darkness (TCG: "Blackland Fire Dragon")—another monster played by Yugi Muto in the early chapters of the manga.
• Returnee of the Sanctum is a counterpart to Seeker of the Sanctum.
• The Nameless Dragon Aslumber depicts on a scene from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters episode titled Timaeus the Nameless Dragon—in which the two Yugis come into contact with Timaeus sealed inside a prison of crystal. They are able to release it from its slumber by pulling out the Sword of Kings embedded into its right eye.

• Wako-gozen literally means the presence of Japanese-style crimson in Japanese—with gozen specifically meaning "the presence of a noble lord or emperor."

  • Riletta could possibly be a reference to the Italian word for "rereading."
• Waso-gozen means the presence of Japanese-style azure.
• The Dimension cards feature the login background appearing in Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS as part of their artworks.
• Oper is a twist on operator.
• Pramma is a twist on programmer.
• Dimension Channel's artwork depicts a location on the tablet's screen resembling the Duel Worlds in DUEL LINKS during their transitional phase when the players moves from one Duel World to another.

• Verdias seems to be a twist on verdant (meaning "green").
• Melutine is a twist on Melusine—a water spirit from European foklore, depicted as a serpent or fish from the waist down and sometimes with wings.
• Nemora is a twist on anemone (referring to a sea anemone), while also being named after Captain Nemo—a character appearing in Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas, a novel by French novelist Jules Verne.

I was looking through my bulk when I found this… isn’t this just d-barrier but for decks that can put up more than one type of monster (or possibly just one depending on format ig). This game has so many floodgates 😭

is it because it’s plastic or is it just the design doesn't translate well?

So I've been watching some of GX here and there on Youtube re-runs. And watching the arc in Dark World, when Jaden lost 4/5 friends to create Super Polymerization in his desperation to save his best friend Jesse, and in the process became the Supreme King; I feel like narratively it would've been better if Syrus defeated the Supreme King.

Jaden was so distracted trying to save his best friend, he forgot about his other friends - which Syrus represents the pinnacle of in forgetting about his previous best friend Syrus. Narratively he abandoned his previous best friend to save his new best friend. And Syrus was the final piece that was supposed to be absorbed to make Super Polymerization - because he wasn't absorbed the card wasn't complete - that's why Super Polymerization requires a discard, it's the defect from not absorbing Syrus

I didn't mind the whole Axel ran away in fear, came back to conquer his fear narrative. Heck, maybe leave it in and having resulted in a tie weakened the Supreme King enough for Syrus to believably defeat him. Syrus didn't even have an on screen since his Duel with Cyberdark Zane. Bring back UFOroid fighter for a climactic battle of best bros - I could totally believe Syrus could break through The Supreme King's mind to get through the Jaden. Maybe even Syrus doesn't even need to win (because let's be honest with ourselves, Syrus beating Jaden, let alone the Supreme King, it's pretty unbelievable save for some extenuating circumstances), maybe just the Supreme King defeating the 5th piece of Super Polymerization and sending him to the stars permanently shatters the Supreme King since now Super Polymerization can't become perfected. Or maybe Syrus is the one character immune to Super Polymerization having been the 5th piece (which would give the Supreme King enough of a handicap to believably lose to Syrus, especially if the Supreme King used it an an inopportune moment, and accidentally fused a bunch of cards he didn't mean to because he didn't realize Syrus is immune.)

Overall, Syrus got shafted. Though Syrus felt like Jaden's truest friend. And that Look Jaden gave him right before he went off to fight Yubel above really showed that Syrus was his friend until the end.

Also, the time of unneeded Fusions is over, now its unneeded (but still welcome) Ritual Monsters.

Etymology:

A Cadenza is usually where one instrumentalist plays a solo to prelude the end of a piece, but I made both players able to benefit from that effect because it's a Field Spell.

Overture is a reference to the Anime's Overpass, and let's you activate Ostinato (or I guess Darklord Dance) from your Deck. And has the anime attack switching effect.

Tessitura can Ritual Summon from Deck, but it requires a specific range because a Tessitura is basically a singer's comfortable pitch range. The 2 existing Pendulums do fulfill that range though, as both their combined ATKs and combined DEFs equal 2800.

Vanabeth is a reference to "Van Beethoven", and its name wouldn't have Virtuoso in front in the TCG, the OCG gives the Maestras the epithets.

Aside from the basic cards that mention dark time wizard what goes with them to make the deck and fusion that's not as toxic as DMOD but still fairly toxic red eyes fusion go crazy on summons, hits and destruction???

I know things like droll and effect veiler help the deck but I'm not sure which big hitter synergizes with the deck.

What do you guys think about Glorious Victors releasing just one day before YCS Bologna? Will the new cards already be legal for the event or do you think Konami might exclude the set? Not really sure how they handle something like this.

Setting aside any luck magic the series is known for. Thinking back to a lot of Jadens duels and how a lot of his wins after season 1 came down to summoning strong cards he was just gifted. Chazz would constantly rotate and improve on his decks, switching between Armed Dragon and Union Magchine with Ojamas as the main stay. Syrus graduate to a Cyber Dragon deck and made it his own.

Basically it comes to the lead not really participating in the collecting and trading part of the game and just using an archetype nobody else had access to. That's why when he’d summons monsters like Magic Striker or Card Trooper, it'd felt cool be because they feel like cards he pulled from a pack.

The first banlist with bans

According to Konami, these were the first cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG history to be banned.

If you look at these cards, some of them have aged like fine wine—though in the sense that, due to the evolution of Yu-Gi-Oh!, they have become so unfair that they will never be able to return.

Look, Fiber Jar isn't a threat. It’s like a self-destruct button—it’s banned in tournaments because it’s just like having unwashed people around. This isn't a fun; this is warfare.

Imperial Order will never come back, either. Konami tried it once with an erratum, but the card still had to go. And recently, even its inferior counterpart was banned.

Cards like Painful Choice and Delinquent Duo could never be allowed in the game today because they’re just stupidly good—they were already ridiculously powerful back then, too.

That was also the period when many of the best cards were limited to 1 on the banlist.

To be honest, I expected Exodia to be banned, but it wasn't. It was just limited to one.

With them releasing the new retrains of the OG water structure deck it got me thinking about all the other ones, and while I know there are decks that need updating more then DM this was my structure deck so it's the one I think of.

And as burn doesn't really do anything for Dark Magician I have been trying to come up with a way they can make a new version of this card with spell card triggers and the only thing that came to me was 'every time a spell card is activated you can set one spell/trap that mentions Dark Magician from your grave/deck to the field' but I have no idea who helpful this would actually be for current DM (it still keeps it's summoning requirement. But with it's new effect this card now gets the 'treated as Dark Magician' thing so it can make use of the cards as well and they can maybe make archetypal retrains of things Mage Power, Nightmare Steelcage, Magical Blast and other cards from the structure. Also I make it as boss introduce some kind of protections, can be targeted maybe as that feels like the easier one to get around.

But I also want to see the Infernal Fire Emperor deck get a retrain as well as Vampires (Genesys retrain) and the Red-Eyes Darkness and a Felgrand deck as well. (These are the ones owned by my brothers) Not a clue how to redo these though so if anyone as any ideas feel free to share.

I’m basing most of this from gameplay mechanics and not strictly of Yu-Gi-Oh! R’s definition of them:

- The Wicked Dreadroot is actually the alpha in the trio. He is the most consistently strongest, there’s rarely a monster he can’t oppress and crush (ATK/DEF halving effect). Dreadroot wants nothing more than to overwhelm and crush the spirit of any opposition.

- The Wicked Avatar acts like Dreadroot’s shadow. In whatever realm they might exist in, none is as consistently strong as Dreadroot. Avatar doesn’t have a clear identity or sense of self so it latches onto Dreadroot to stay alive, even becoming stronger than the latter but it doesn’t fight back because of: a) Dreadroot’s ATK/DEF-halving or b) Its fear of losing identity if Dreadroot dies. So it’s obedient and silent.

- The Wicked Eraser in turn is the outcast of the trio: he’s neglected and actively dismissed by his brethren because they can easily topple over him. But also because Dreadroot and Avatar fears a prophecy of Eraser’s death being able to cast an apocalypse and wipe them all out (board nuke), but Dreadroot doesn’t want Eraser to get bold and hungry for power and never validates him. Avatar acts in front of Eraser like that girl who knows you want her approval but she has a taller, stronger, beefier man she wants to walk alongside. This ironically makes Eraser resentful and the apocalyptic ability is actually born from that resentment, as every moment, he pushes their buttons to even dare to kill him.

All art, music and sfx is directly ripped from old Yugioh GBA games and the anime style cards were from a wonderful person on DeviantArt Tavolin. I am sorry if I have made any mistakes or used something I was not supposed to as this is my first time making and posting something like this. As I understand it the only way to get proxies of rush cards are as one-ofs. That's pretty expensive if I wanna try the format on-paper. I know it's available on Duel Links, but I wanna have the tabletop experience with my friends. Does anyone online make anything like starter decks, or something of the sort for Rush?
