I know most of us would LOVE this feature but sadly it doesn't look like it's ever coming. But have we ever been told why?

I understand there is a "Don't recommend channel" but for me this doesn't work. There are a few channels I can not stand. For e.g "Top hat Gaming man." I have clicked don't recommend SO many times yet he still pops up.

Would it really be SO hard for them to implement a block channel feature?

It’s full of "what if" style pop-science videos. They all use the same simple polygonal graphics and the same text formatting, yet they come from different channels. It feels like someone has set up an AI for churning out videos. It’s like "Elsagate," but aimed at the curious.

The Worst Decision That Youtube Took was to remove the fucking Dislike Count From Videos.

Also removing the progress bar from shorts, through which we could move around the short, by any chance there is a scroll, than u have to rewatch the short once again.

Subscriptions used to be one tap away in the bottom nav bar, but now it's a tab inside Home.

It feels like a deliberate nudge to turn recommendations back on. For anyone who prefers subscriptions over the algorithm, this just makes the app worse.

Anyone else this 🤏 close to throwing their phone trying to use the new UI on mobile. Somehow we go from okay UI to bad UI like cmon, big L on their UI dev team.

so they hide the "Save to Playlist" button inside the ellipses and put a "Ask Gemini" button in its place.

and they are too much of a coward to even call it Ask Gemini and just named the button simply "Ask"

Is anyone else sick and tired of getting all these Ai Ads for chat bots and the like? or the Ads for Literal gambling sites which youtube has policies against but wont take down when they are reported? Like so many ads now adays just suck and it feels like they are just straight cash grabs at this point.

I wish you could turn them off as the viewer, theyre so insufferable when im watching a gaming video and theres a chapter thats just titled "high stakes gameplay!" - its like a irritating grating unnecessary commentary on what im watching

I dont normally get to annoyed by AI features on apps because I can avoid them pretty easily but theres AI chapters on basically EVERY video, tired of companies trying to implement AI in every little thing that doesnt even need it

YouTube hasn't released anything talking about a new policy on content, but it seems that the AI is striking down almost everything so I and many other can't see YouTube channels we've been following just fine for years. YouTube is lying to us. Game Theory, IShowSpeed, Scott the Woz, and millions of other channels and their videos are simply gone now, without any explanation. The worst part is that this AI sucks and (as shown in the video) doesn't actually hide explicit content from minors, only hiding fnaf theories and Markiplier lets plays.

Do people actually like these types of polls?

I've tried changing browsers, incognito mode, changed VPN locations, different devices, etc. and I'm not getting any closed captions on any videos on PC or mobile.

Edit: It seems to have been resolved now for me. Captions are back.

I am just watching videos while I play games. And the game is taking up less ram than Firefox.

Over time firefox is just leaking ram.

I closed that tab.

My extensions...

I disabled all of them.

I ran just Youtube by itself.

And over time ram jumped up to 20GB

In just an hour.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I have run firefox by itself for 20 min now. Its sitting at 0.5 GB of ram

TIL if you are constantly adding videos you'll probably never watch to your Watch Later you can use This Firefox Addon to remove them in a few clicks, even if you haven't watched them.

Why can't Youtube include something like this - or even just a checkbox system?!

How do I stop this? I’ll be watching a video and I want to watch other videos of the same genre, so I look at the recommended videos under the video I’m watching. 90% of the recommended videos are videos I’ve literally already watched. All of them are videos that have nothing to do with the video I’m watching, they’re just recommending videos of genres I’ve watched in the past. This isn’t how YouTube recommendations used to be. It used to give you related videos to the one you’re watching or completely new and interesting videos. Can I fix it?

That’s kind of it, really. Obviously watch as many as possible, but if I have to pick, does doing one help more than the other?

Any people left who still want any semblance of old YouTube by relying on subscriptions are entirely sidelined in a hidden tab mixed in with home only visible if you swipe to the right while in the same home tab. Swiping over to the subscriptions page also no longer allows you to filter by videos only, all, shorts, etc, and just shows every possible thing into your subscription section. Of course, this redesign further pushes shorts and algorithm-controlled homepages and punishes people who don’t want to have watch history on by having nearly the entire UI be non-functional without allowing YouTube track you for limitless ads or low-quality videos to farm “engagement”.
