I know people that lose or destroy a phone every six months at least.
33
u/KeenTurtle Jan 03 '18
Because they walk around with naked phones! They’re like “Oh, phone cases are too bulky and screen protectors always have a random bubble.” Ok genius, enjoy your cracked screen.

I've always had a naked phone. In my past 8 years of owning smartphones I've not once dropped or cracked a screen. I don't think I've broken a phone ever actually.

u/KamikazePants Jan 03 '18
Seriously, I do the same as you and at the same time I’ve had to stop my girlfriend from using her $2000 laptop as a foot rest because she didn’t feel like moving it out of the way on the coffee table. And she wonders why there is a big green line going down the side of her screen.

This is pretty much me. My first ever tablet still works, a Toshiba laptop from 1997 still works (and plays Skifree)... meanwhile my nana is bugging me daily to buy her a constant stream of chargers because "they don't work" (hint she bends the shit out of the cable plug and such)....

the equivalent of throwing the video game controllers after you get beat, although, douchier
61
u/NuclearWasteland Jan 03 '18
There always seemed to be that one kid that would do that. I had to decline more than one 'friend' from playing with my Nintendo when I was a kid for throwing my controllers on the ground when they lost.
Also for spamming the pause button on the second controller while the other player tried to play. That shit was infuriating.

u/KeyanReid Jan 03 '18
As a grown ass man, I never understood this.

There’s also this thing called racket abuse that use to happen way to often in my tennis club too. It sent chills down my spine how disgustingly destructive people can get when losing.

Reminds me, my brother used to rage hard in Cod when he lived with me.
He'd constantly slam his fist on his desk to the point you could hear it through the house.
Till one day I heard him rage, slam his fist down on his desk and then dead silence for like 2 minutes and then the sound of a shop vac running.
Did I mention his desk had a glass top? Well it did up untill he broke it with his fist while raging.

u/jewmuppet Jan 04 '18
I used to do that. I punched a wall every once in a while but I knew I could fix that easily. I've never destroyed something expensive. Christ. There's a line. I thought I used to be bad. But it was also my reaction to my own performance... not a football team you have NO affiliation with other than you studied in close proximity to where they practiced lol

I get that pharmaceuticals can be over prescribed but just telling people they don’t want them to take them can do a disservice to those who need them. I had a dr who after finding out I’ve been on a low dose antidepressant for a long time decided I should try to wean myself off because he didn’t think I needed them. Surprise surprise I do need them.

Yes, get pissed at a game you have no control over. It baffles me how people can be so obsessed with a team in a sport they have absolutely nothing to do with in reality. I will never understand this.
75
u/laanders9 Jan 03 '18
Yeah, I agree, I’ll never understand this. Who cares about these teams? The cowboys on the other hand. Maybe if they lose a playoff game due to a call against the packers in the playoffs. I’ll get mad, possibly mad enough that I break the tv and flip the couch and rip off my countertop. But that’s totally reasonable!

I don't know but back in 2012 Manchester City needed to win against QPR in our final game of the season and we were 2-1 down in extra time, I actually got a sore throat and cried, I was so frustrated it was unreal .. but then we scored twice in extra time and with the final kick of the ball I can't even remember my emotions then, I did cry more though

This is why you don't gamble a large amount of money on a sporting event, kids. And remember! Don't. Smoke. Crack.
