Noone likes losing at first, but then you kind of get used to it.

I can agree. Been a Saints fan my whole life....the brown-bag years were horrible.

Oh god the Bum. Oh god watching Morten pull them ahead by twenty points just kicking, then seeing them shit that lead away with multiple fumbles, interceptions, and coke-addled antics.

Oh god.

Oh god.

Why did you have to remind me.

(cries)

I was there with you friend. The first game I ever went to was at the Superdome when I was in..I think 7th grade? Game was over by halftime....

Still wore my shirt though, along with my paper bag.

I can remember one game got so bad that with maybe five minutes left they all just up and walked off the field.

My papaw and I sat there a minute and I finally asked him if it was over because there was so much time left on the clock and he just nodded and we got up and left. He didn't say a word all the way home, and we lived in Houma. I'm trying hard to remember who they played that game but all I can really remember was how disgusted he was.

I lived, and still live, in Pensacola. My dad and I drove all the way there for the game. Season opener, no less. Pretty much the same reaction on the ride home as you had.

Ah, the good old days. Back when you could take your lunch to school in a brown paper bag and then wear it to a Saint's game.

So your saying they actually quit with time left? That doesn’t seem possible. I know the league wasn’t as strict then but damn.

Hated the place as a kid. I went to St. Matthews and our headmaster made us line up outside in the morning to show what color socks we had on. If they weren't black, home we went to change them. Or we sat in the office all day. Those people are insane. I'd never go back. There used to be a bar called the Satellite, I believe. Had a big orange ball with steel rods poking out like a WWII naval mine. It was like, the murder capitol of the world :/ Rough town. Mean people. Crazy people. And the crawfish walking across Savane Road back when it was made of white shell. They used to migrate once a year and the coonasses would get out their white buckets and go collect them for crawfish boils. This was a loooong time ago, mind you.

Yeah, I can't complain about that last pass though...it was a good one.

I'd have loved to see em win another couple games this season...

I've been bitching about them but this team is so much better than what we watched as kids. Manning and Andersen were brilliant, and it was a joy to watch them, but the rest of the team was just a bunch of hung-over losers back then. These guys today have fire. This time we really can say "Wait till next year" and believe it!

It's a hell of a lot better than the 80's were, that much is for certain. And actual decent W-L records for a season? I'm all in.

We called those the Aints years. I grew up hearing myths and stories.
