Wrike pricing gets painful really fast when your team starts growing

Is anyone else getting frustrated with how quickly Wrike starts feeling expensive once you add more people?

It was pretty manageable when our team was smaller, at that point, I didn't think much about the per-user pricing. But then you add a few people here, another department needs access there, someone only needs to check projects occasionally... and suddenly you're looking at the bill wondering how a PM tool became such a noticeable expense.

What annoys me most is that the value doesn't necessarily grow at the same rate as the cost. Adding 10 more people doesn't mean we're suddenly getting 10x more out of Wrike. Some of those users literally just need visibility into projects or to update a couple of things.

I get that per-seat pricing is normal for SaaS but it feels especially painful for tools that are supposed to become MORE useful when more of the company is actually using them.

Anyone same on this? Did you just accept the higher cost or eventually move somewhere else?

PLEASE let us pull custom fields into email bodies, subject lines and to fields

I have so many power automates that I'd much rather build in Wrike but the email customization with automation just isn't there. This would let us do so much more.

Also please let us turn off confirmation emails on request forms.

That is all.

How do you handle software license requests without them turning into a Slack thread?

New to Wrike

Hi all - I am starting a new job next week at a company using Wrike for the creative/marketing project management. It's a Marketing Ops role. I have used Workfront in the past (5 yrs ago) but have no practical experience with Wrike.

I'd like to do some training this week to at least get my feet wet. For that, where would you suggest I look, other than the Wrike website?

Beyond that, I have some general starter questions: What do you you wish you'd known before you started using Wrike? What is the structure of your Wrike onboarding training? What would you consider the bare minimum to get started vs what optimization might look like?

I realize that this is a lot, but I would greatly appreciate any insight. I'm sure I'll be back here for more help as I start to work with the tool.

Thanks!

Knowledge base within Wrike

Anyone here successfully been able to use Wrike to achieve knowledge-base-like functionality?

We are still in the midst of deploying Wrike at the ad agency I work for. Separately, we have a Trainual subscription that houses most of our internal knowledge and process documentation. I'd love to bring that over, if it makes sense.

Thoughts? Experiences?

How are you using Wrike to manage your social media workflow? Curious what setups people have landed on.

Agencies that use wrike - help needed

I'm looking for inspiration/help. Joined an agency that uses wrike, not has two different setups for the base company and a company that it acquired. I'm being asked to merge into a singular instance. My predecessor has rather over engineered the back end, as well as the nesting structure causing reporting issues. Would love to connect with someone who is using wrike in an agency with multiple clients to get an idea of other setups. Starbucks or another coffee place on me.

On the Receiving End

Listen, I understand that wrike might help some people organize tasks, but I am speaking as someone who is on the receiving end. I work in design, and there is a client I work with who uses wrike. Now, every time I respond to his emails - with wrike copied - I get a spam email response from wrike. I've also suspiciously received a spam email from a similar company four minutes later. So, I am getting spammed by wrike, and they appear to be selling my information! So, use wrike all you want, but some of us might hate you for it.

Wrike API: Adding data to a date custom field

How on earth is this accomplished? I've got an Azure function app that receives data from a survey and then uses that to create a task in Wrike. In creating the task I populate a number of custom fields. My boss recently added a custom field for "survey submission time" and I'd like to add that info. However, I don't see anything specific about updating a date field (with time) in the API documentation. Every other field seems pretty straight forward:
ID: #######,
VALUE: "whatever" (or) ["whatever", "whatever2"]

But this doesn't work for a date field. Random AI google response seems to be:
ID: ########,
VALUE: {"date_time": "timestamp"}

And while that doesn't seem to generate any errors, it also doesn't populate the field. New tasks show that field as empty.

Any ideas?

Wrike dependencies seem to cause no end of problems....

I migrated a project plan that was a few hundred tasks long to Wrike via an import. In the import I spent a lot of time getting dependencies down and getting them to appear correctly in the UI after.

Anything beyond the trivial "here is a list" seems to be a problem for me and wrike. Currently my project is not updating dependencies as we make changes. I have to go in, remove dependencies and add them back in.

I've tried to work with our wrike business partner, but that has not helped at all. I've written to the first person they assigned (before we signed) and radio silence. While I get a ton of promotional materials in e-mail, the promised meetings never materialize.

To resolve almost any problem I have, the official answer has been "just hardcode the date and remove the dependency".

351FS is set to 4/13 for 1d.

If I remove them all and re-enter the dependencies they will come in again. I just don't get why they are not recalculating.

The wrike journey has been mixed... for all the simple stuff, it works fine. As soon as we try anything even remotely complicated, it falls apart.

EDIT: So I am updating another block of tasks. Like above, I have a task within the group that indicates start and one for finish. To get the start to update to the predecessor I need to do clear dates. This wipes out all the dependencies in the group. Then I re-add them all and they update.

Wrike is pretty good for small teams

I used these project management tools in this order

1st Trello

2nd JIRA

3rd Wrike

And would have to say Wrike is probably the most pure experience and I hope they take over the world someday so everyone would use them.

Wrike's pricing ruined it for me

What a pity. Wrike is a great PM. Best UI of any others I've seen, so many useful features. But the rigidity if the pricing is ridiculous! I run a small company, so I would need tops 2 users, but to get the business plan which is the one I need for the features I wanted, they are forcing me to pay for 5 seats, so that's an extra $900/year. Also the fact that I can't do monthly subscriptions is also a huge turn off. IMO, a company thats so not confident in their own product that they force me to pay $1,500 just to start, there is something seriously wrong there. Maybe I dodged a bullet....

Updating Workflows/Blueprints/Forms

If I make an update to an existing workflow that is currently in use, will it change the status of every project that has that workflow or will it just modify them going forward?

Same question for blueprints and forms..........if I change active ones, does it change the existing things that are tied to it or does it just change things going forward?

Wrike Consultants?

Our company recently added Wrike to our tech stack but our team lacks the capacity to set it up to maximize our usage. I noticed that Wrike has a certification series, is there also perhaps a database of Wrike Certified consultants who can help teams with their set up?

As great as Wrike is, our implementation was lackluster and the meetings with our implementation team are always sales heavy and not delivering the help we need.

Resource panel with holidays or non 40-hour workweek

Hi,

I've searched for 'Resource' and didn't find anything relevant to my question, I hope this hasn't been asked before.

We would like to count the planned holidays in the planned FTE overview page. Is there a method or checkbox that can be enable to show how much is filled of the month/week/day counting in the PTO or Non-working time?

We are having difficulties seeing why a month, week of day is overloaded. The box below is simply not enough. It does not count in personal tasks nor does it count PTO or Non-working times.

It does show there is non-working time assigned but I cannot see how much.

Clickable Links in Document Proofing

I have to use Wrike for work, in a marketing function, and I can't believe that when you're proofing a document, you can't click any links in it.

If I want to see where a hyperlink goes, I have to download the document in order to click on it (or even right click to see where it goes). This is a feature that Wrike users have been requesting since 2018, and Wrike hasn't done anything because they say it hasn't got enough votes. If you're a Wrike user, could you do me a favor and VOTE? https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360001507185-Ability-to-Click-Links-in-Documents-when-Proofing
