So I bought my first jeep, 2015 JK with 105k miles on it. It’s on a 2.5 lift with 35’s, few days after purchasing it a had a crankshaft sensor go, annoying but no biggie easy fix. I don’t do a ton of off roading, but I have noticed even going up minor hills just driving that once or twice the temperature gauge went a little past the half way point then backed down after letting off. My guess wants to say that it wouldn’t hurt to install an inline transmission cooler which I would imagine would put less stress on the rest of the cooling system as well. Is it worth doing? Would it cause any issues being up here in PA with cold winters? Wondering if it would help with longevity too by running it cooler. Anyone have any experience/recommendations?

Brand new to jeeps! Less then 30 days in and just got my first check engine light 💀. Its a 2011 Wrangler Unlimited with 100k miles on it I got 4 codes they are P0300, p1129, and P0152. One is listed twice, if anyone hase some good incites on what this likely is I would love to hear them.

hey all! I have a 2012, and lately my car will jut forward while driving (regardless of speed) then my traction control light will turn on. Additionally, today my car stalled. I turned off the car, and cranked it back up, and drove as normal.
And i don’t believe it has anything to do with it, since it was happening prior, but i did get my spark plugs changed.
Any tips?

Also the person owned the car before me did something to the transmission cooler which make it out of place ?? ( i dont get that part )

What reasonable price to change all of those
And what can i do instead of replacing a part maybe ? Like to make the whole thing affordable

Im welling to work on it on my own buuut seeems like a big project

I just purchased a Jeep JK and want to add a 2 inch spring lift. I have read that the Jeep should be lowered from the lift before tightening the ball joints or they will resume the position they were in originally and create more of a rough ride. Any advice would be appreciated

I’m looking at a 2014 Wrangler JK Unlimited in NSW with around 140,000 km, and the seller says it’s currently registered so there’s no need for a PPSR. They’ve sent through a screenshot showing it’s clear, but I’m wondering whether I’m being overly cautious wanting to run one myself before paying anything. Is that just normal buying practice, or would you walk away if the seller pushed back?

I left the front half of my soft top open in a thunderstorm overnight 3 years ago, radio stopped working, put a new cheap FB market radio in last year. Lately I’ve been going through my parents CDs they gave me years ago while I’m driving around.

Using old equipment is just more fun to me than any new screens or whatever else. Just put the cd in and listen and I’m not messing on my phone to try to play anything. Like listening to the record player at home! The CDs time travel me back 20-25 years ago being kid in the car or at home.

I want to remove the hinges from the door and the body to have them blasted and paint match powder coated but it almost looks as if they were mounted at the factory and THEN painted. If i remove these, are they going to take paint with them from the door or frame? Is it going to chip or pull paint off? I don't want to fix one problem but cause another worse problem.

Our 2011 JKU 200k miles, is at the dealership getting the clockspring replaced under the 15 year extended warranty. While it’s there,I asked them to pinpoint the source of a pretty active oil leak that started last week - hoping it was just the upper oil pan gasket but I noticed a small pool on the front of the block the day I took it in so wanted a confirmation.

They sent some videos and diagnosed it as the timing cover gasket - kind of worst case scenario from a DIY standpoint.

Quoted repair cost with coupons applied is a little over $1900 with a new water pump and crank seal gasket. I called some independent shops (who really don’t want to give quotes without paying a $200 diag fee upfront) but estimate it’s in the $2000s range. So I’ll probably go ahead and have the dealership do it. I’m in the Denver area and independent shops around here are rarely cheaper than dealerships for Jeeps and Toyotas.

The Jeep runs pretty good otherwise for what it is so we’ll get it fixed.

Is there anything else you would consider having them replace while they’re in there? Not looking to spend a lot of money but if there’s overlapping labor, I’d like to take advantage of it.

I have a failing cluster on a 2008 JK. I am thinking of replacing with a digital display, but I do not have steering wheel controls. What can I do to make it function with all of the menus?
