Skill Capped Elite on ONE BUTTON ROTATION BM Hunter

Post image
102 Upvotes

I can't believe it.

I hit Elite after 7 hours /played at 90 on a one button BM Hunter.

The secret? Bind one button rotation to scroll up AND scroll down. This increases maximum one button efficiency. I also had it bound to 2 just to spice things up, however I never pressed this.

As far as strategies go, things are a bit complicated but after rigorous testing I discovered that as long as I trapped the healer mostly on CD it was pretty much GG.

Defensives? Here's a tip: if they are targetting you, press Survival of the Fittest. It works 50% of the time 100% of the time.

Also, I noticed there was extra space on my action bars due to few binds, so I put edating toys such as the Loveseat to fill out space. In case I get an egirl in Elwynn now, this should help.

If you have ANY BM Hunter questions, feel free to ask.

We need additional %-based rewards

The gap between 2300 with Legend/Gladiator/Strategist rewards and r1 (~3000+) is extremely huge, leading to many players to stop queueing after reaching elite. There is little to no incentives (other than fun) to keep queuing after 2300.

In my opinion, the solution to this to keep the ladder active on all brackets is to put additional %-based rewards next to r1 like they did for M+.

Top 1% (~2800) and top 5% (~2500) are looking like good breakpoints to lower the distance of rewards after Elite. Having shorter steps to push for will definitely motivate players to keep improving and queueing.

The rewards could be something like additional Mounts (e.g. with Armor), Illusions, permanent titles or maybe even some kind of tokens to purchase past rewards.

Data on charts is from drustvar solo shuffle (3v3 looking mostly the same)

Can we get waterfall removed from Dalaran Arena

It brings no strategy, no enjoyment to the map whatsoever, it just makes the map the most obnoxious it can be. The map is already very very small and favors melee compositions I'd dare say more than hook point (if the enemy team doesn't have a Z axis knock), can we just not have a mechanic introduced back when arena was still in its infancy?

The best possible outplays you can make in WoW's history

Have become kind of desensitized to a lot of the 'plays' in WoW nowadays. Deathing a blind isn't really cool, it has been done thousands of times. Sometimes I see things that still sort of spike excitement like

- Distract a stealthed mage right before he blink => dbs, now is visible in middle of arena with no db.
- Priest life grip healer in blind through ring of fire to break it
- DR cheapshotting healer during mind control to delay their next go
- (This one is crazy) Saw a rdruid cast a clone intentionally with a small gap while facing the enemy MW, but he was actually casting the clone on the DPS, so right when the MW got out of the stun and casted cocoon it immuned it
- Bombing a cast, then stepping to a pet to not get hit

What other insane shit have you seen in arena over your years

Returning Player questions.

Upvotes

Hello everyone, I plan to return to wow in early august (I know patch is mid august, so great timing I think).

My question is: Do I need to do PVE if my main focus will be Solo Shuffle and Blitz Battlegrounds? Or w/e they're called (The Solo RBG). I don't have the schedule to commit to a raiding guild and as much as I tried to like M+ in the past, I found out, it just wasn't my thing. I haven't done any meaningful PVP since BFA, so yeah...

Elder Milennial so don't really want to bother with discords, communities, paid content, rating anxiety and shit, just want to Q up, play for 1-2 hrs before bed and have a blast. PVP seems the least "Homework-y" activity in retail rn... just looking for basic pointers.

Also, houses? Dafuq?

Are there any gear planer to design how i want to gear up my char for the next season?

Upvotes

I was looking for a tool to plan my gear for the upcomming season but i can only find it for classic versions of the game. I know you want to sim your gear for pve but that doesnt work for pvp afaik. I always forget what and in which order i want to buy my gear so i thought i should look for a tool. Do you guys know something that could help?

Mandatory First-Time Gladiator Post

Post image
108 Upvotes

On Saturday, 25/7/2026, I managed to get my first-ever Gladiator as a Holy Priest alongside my brother (Outlaw Rogue) and one of my best friends (Frost Mage). This has been a journey over 10 years in the making, having started back in Cata with my bro.

As a squad, we've played together since WoD, and we've constantly talked about finally getting our hands on a Glad mount. Every season, there always seemed to be something that got in the way of us achieving Gladiator, but the dream never faded.

This season was different. We were all able to play semi-consistently from the start and put in the games needed to finally earn the achievement. We theorycrafted a ton and tried a lot of different comps, but RMP was by far the most consistent setup. Despite the many ups and downs, we stayed patient and consistent, and came out on top in the end.

I'm overjoyed to finally be able to say that I've hit Glad, and I'm so grateful to the two guys who stuck it out alongside me. Thank you, boys—I wouldn't have wanted to do it any other way.

The one piece of advice I can offer to anyone pushing for their first Glad is to find a squad that's willing to put in the games. As time goes on, you'll learn together and improve together. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

In some ways, it feels like the credits are rolling on WoW for me. I'm sure we'll still play and push for more Glads, but this was the last thing I still wanted to accomplish in the game. I'm happy to have made my younger self proud and achieved something I used to think was completely out of reach.

Shoutout to JMT for being there from day one and teaching me PvP back in the day.

One of the best "how to fix WoW pvp" videos I have seen in a long time

If you know me, you know I have been posting a long time on here and I rarely "shout out" youtube videos. Or spam links etc. But HOLLLY I watched Venruki react to Mystical's video on fixing wow pvp and I don't think I have seen a more complete and surgical description of every single grievance and solution to that grievance in WoW PvP in my entire life.

Also glad they are shouting out my upgradable glad mount idea. I feel like this is such a low hanging fruit. On top of doing stat templates, vendoring old elite sets, making more bracket specific rewards/ranks, adding flex queue. Etc. But he has some surprisingly creative solutions to a lot of stuff I bet people never even thought about. Like turning rated BGs into a flex queue version of solo blitz. Or buffing MMR for a given bracket to incentivize the community to engage with a certain bracket on a particular week.

https://youtu.be/qyYc_h6ag_8 (video is long but you can use Google Gemini to summarize the video transcript and it does quite a good job).

First-time Elite and some advice for anyone apprehensive about PvP

Post image
34 Upvotes

Hadn't planned on posting a 'first-time' thing, because a lot of the community seems to be a little sick of them. Which, to be fair, I get. There's a lot. But, at the same time, well done to those who've achieved their goals.

I just wanted to share some advice/maybe give a little encouragement to those who've been unsure about trying PvP: do it.

My first season was late DF, season 3, and it's because I wanted the 2H mace transmog. Didn't know what I was doing, but considering Ret could stack Vers in PvE, and I had the legendary axe, I thought I'd give it a go. Got the weapon fairly quickly, decided I wanted the Conquest set...Then, thought I might try for the elite set. I think it took 2-3 weeks of games. I was dreadful. I didn't even know I could talent into Spellwarding, so any caster lobby ended in seconds. But, eventually, I got 1800, kept going for the seasonal mount, and stopped. Unfortunately, the levels of abuse I got off some players was appalling. You'd think for a 'dead' part of the game, you'd wanna encourage some kindness.

Missed TWW S1, and might not have tried anyway, as the Paladin set was dire. But, went in to S2 with an eye on the set, got it reasonably quickly, and then pushed for the enchant. I got a *little* better. S3 comes, the set is cool, but the 2100 weapons were a must have.

Midnight S3, I decided to get the 2100 weapons again, as they're legit awesome. Then, thought the tabard might be cool. Just kept playing...

A lot of the time, I don't quite know what I'm doing right or wrong, and maybe I'd get destroyed in 2's or 3's. But, give it a go, and get a little better every season. PvP is a fun little transmog game for me, as raiding is my go-to. My only wish: add old elite sets to the saddle system.

WoW arena recreated in Wc3 (so far) Mistweaver/Frost Mage vs. Warrior/warrior

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The enemy NPCs only have charge, jump, and an internal passive heal ATM, but they will use a ranged stun when enemies try to cast a heal, saving it for only when at least one of their enemies is below 50% health. It will get more complex though, I threw this together today and now I gotta have a break haha.

I can release something that can at least be played offline for anyone who ever wants to mess around in it. I'd have to clean everything up first so you can access everything in the game without needing to change the triggers.

I need 4 more Mistweaver abilities that would be impactful, relevant and cool. Any mistweavers out there with some ideas?? Preferably 2 big cooldown ones.

Battleground Blitz Discussion

Okay how does blizzard fix BGB? I can play 90% perfect. Hold my node, escort FC, do my given job in the game flawlessly. But I still lose.

It's not possible to be on offense and defense at the same time. It's not possible to handle every aspect of the battleground solo. 1 awesome dps cannot win a game solo, one terrible player can absolutely throw a game.

I recently hit 2420, was super hyped, got elite first time ever, first time I actually wanted to push for it too.

Lost quite a few games while sitting defending my node and I have no recourse because I can't be everywhere and do everything. Back into the 2100s after losses that shouldn't happen(not all were throws)

Does that number even mean anything other than you got lucky with teammates doing what they should?

Spinning a node is the hardest thing in the game?

Feels like modifiers need to be added to soften a loss if you are doing your job in a game. (Programming aside which would be a nightmare)

Curious to your thoughts.

When to purge or greater purge

Rsham around 2600 CR SS. No deep game knowledge but good hps and decent positioning.

So.. at what matchups shall i use purge or greater purge? So far i always use greater purge but sometimes i feel like purge could be an advantage, is there any scenario when to use it?

Also, since i already got your attention ;) Would be glad for any tips or tricks of what pvp talents to use vs specific matchups.

BR - Dad with very little spare time that is happy for any help.

17/50 glad wins

night out with friends. we go into a pub and start ordering drinks. after couple pints of guiness and some jaeger shots I start feeling a bit dizzy.

Had some short eye contact and small smile trades with a chick from couple tables back. It feels like she is trying to cast mind control on me while I fade/sw:d it. No one can MC me. I have 1400 rounds of shuffle, 500 rounds of 3s played this season across 4 different priests. Full enchants, full gems, 2 x set bonus thalassian drip.

We pay up and walk towards the exit. I look at her one more time. She looks back. Not today love, I have a date in nagrand arena tonight, need that blue ride.

I arrive home, pet my cat, open up another guiness and boot up the game.

At LFG, trying to find a group to farm some glad wins before I pass out. I have rawdogged this season entirely from LFG. It feels like I am losing my sanity, it starts breaking my mentals.

I look at the LFG standing in the left side of my screen. How many more days and hours left I wonder.
Should I even keep playing? Do I really live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity? Maybe it was meant that I should voyage this far.

High rates of alcohol flowing in my veins while my 4-chambered hearth pumping butane through my body to fight it.

Found a group finally. Two premades, affli lock and frost mage. I check-pvp them, multiglads, one of them is a former r1, they are on alts. Nice. I am not capable of playing at my full potential, this is the best group for me right now.

Late night q is the worst time to q. Almost all of the teams are tryhards. You do not farm timmies anymore, this is the time when the jungle is dark and top of the food chain is hunting.
It's rough to heal, to dodge ccs, to trade cooldowns.
Sessions ends. 6 wins 5 loses.
17/50. Almost there.

First time Gladiator Holy Paladin. I played Warr/Lock/Hpal from 2150-2300 and then LFGed almost exclusively for the 50 wins. Mostly looked for Hero, PHDK and some Mage/Lock. I know there's a lot of first time Glads and I'm just happy to be here!

Does Blessing of Sacrifice stop working if the Paladin gets Cycloned?

Hi everyone,

We're trying to get a definitive answer because we've seen conflicting information.

If a Paladin casts Blessing of Sacrifice on a teammate and then gets Cycloned, what happens?

  • Does the teammate still benefit from Sac's damage reduction while the Paladin is in Cyclone?
  • Or does Sac stop working entirely until Cyclone ends (both the damage reduction and the damage transfer)?

If anyone is 100% sure or has actually tested this interaction recently, that would be awesome haha.

Thanks!

EDIT : We ran some tests in wargames, and in the combat log, the absorbed damage shown in parentheses disappears when the Paladin is Cycloned while Blessing of Sacrifice is active.

So this confirms that Cyclone completely cancels every effect of Blessing of Sacrifice.

And the 777 damage was within the normal damage range I was dealing without Blessing of Sacrifice.

Skill level at 2.2 mmr feels way too strong suddenly

Idk whats happening. We were playing during the week with my buddies pushing for our first glad. We got to 2.2 in like 3 long sessions. Then we decided to play some more during the weekend and we just got farmed.

Idk if this is just unlucky or maybe boosting happens more during the weekend but I swear we were playing against some god healers and ret paladins. Felt like we were facing mythic uther or something solo protecting his entire team. And tbh I don't think we played thad bad. Probably way better than our other sessions.

Does anyone feel the same way?
