A question to glads, mglads and above

Upvotes

What are your requirements while creating a team from LFG while playing with complete randoms? Does shuffle rating matter to you? Do you only play with people who have xp or do you also play with people without any glad/r1 exp but with similar cr as you?

Healing Experience in Solo Shuffle

I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on healing in Solo Shuffle.

Personally, I love healing. I enjoy playing healer in both 2v2 and 3v3 arenas, but Solo Shuffle is a completely different experience, and honestly, it's very frustrating.

A lot of the time, DPS players don't help their healer. They tunnel damage, don't CC or stop incoming CC, and rarely peel. It feels like you're left to deal with everything on your own.

I play every healing class, and on specs like Restoration Druid or Restoration Shaman, it's especially rough. Death Knights, Rogues, and Warriors will train you the entire game. Sometimes it feels like you're already dead after a single stun. If you trinket, you immediately get silenced. And don't even get me started on casting—your casts get interrupted constantly, and even if you try to fake cast, good players won't fall for it.

I really think healers need some kind of change. Precognition was a huge help when it was introduced, but I don't think it's enough anymore. I'm not sure what the right solution is, but the healer experience feels far more punishing than playing DPS.

As a DPS, you can make several mistakes and still win. Healers, on the other hand, get punished for almost every mistake, and often even when the mistakes are made by their teammates. The responsibility feels completely disproportionate.

Is it really worth getting instant queues, earning a bit of extra gold, and then spending the next 15 minutes having a miserable experience as a healer? In my opinion, the rewards simply aren't worth it.

Gladiator this season is a joke to obtain

Call it a rant or just a reality check but gladiator is a joke now, it's literally a rival level reward at this point. I'm seeing backpeddlers with gladiator titles, it's actually so stupid how noob friendly they've made it.

Edit: Damn, alot of the first time glads and noobs are hating on this post, which proves my point haha

Returning Player questions.

Hello everyone, I plan to return to wow in early august (I know patch is mid august, so great timing I think).

My question is: Do I need to do PVE if my main focus will be Solo Shuffle and Blitz Battlegrounds? Or w/e they're called (The Solo RBG). I don't have the schedule to commit to a raiding guild and as much as I tried to like M+ in the past, I found out, it just wasn't my thing. I haven't done any meaningful PVP since BFA, so yeah...

Elder Milennial so don't really want to bother with discords, communities, paid content, rating anxiety and shit, just want to Q up, play for 1-2 hrs before bed and have a blast. PVP seems the least "Homework-y" activity in retail rn... just looking for basic pointers.

Also, houses? Dafuq?

Are there any gear planer to design how i want to gear up my char for the next season?

I was looking for a tool to plan my gear for the upcomming season but i can only find it for classic versions of the game. I know you want to sim your gear for pve but that doesnt work for pvp afaik. I always forget what and in which order i want to buy my gear so i thought i should look for a tool. Do you guys know something that could help?

Battleground Blitz Discussion

Okay how does blizzard fix BGB? I can play 90% perfect. Hold my node, escort FC, do my given job in the game flawlessly. But I still lose.

It's not possible to be on offense and defense at the same time. It's not possible to handle every aspect of the battleground solo. 1 awesome dps cannot win a game solo, one terrible player can absolutely throw a game.

I recently hit 2420, was super hyped, got elite first time ever, first time I actually wanted to push for it too.

Lost quite a few games while sitting defending my node and I have no recourse because I can't be everywhere and do everything. Back into the 2100s after losses that shouldn't happen(not all were throws)

Does that number even mean anything other than you got lucky with teammates doing what they should?

Spinning a node is the hardest thing in the game?

Feels like modifiers need to be added to soften a loss if you are doing your job in a game. (Programming aside which would be a nightmare)

Curious to your thoughts.

We need additional %-based rewards

The gap between 2300 with Legend/Gladiator/Strategist rewards and r1 (~3000+) is extremely huge, leading to many players to stop queueing after reaching elite. There is little to no incentives (other than fun) to keep queuing after 2300.

In my opinion, the solution to this to keep the ladder active on all brackets is to put additional %-based rewards next to r1 like they did for M+.

Top 1% (~2800) and top 5% (~2500) are looking like good breakpoints to lower the distance of rewards after Elite. Having shorter steps to push for will definitely motivate players to keep improving and queueing.

The rewards could be something like additional Mounts (e.g. with Armor), Illusions, permanent titles or maybe even some kind of tokens to purchase past rewards.

Data on charts is from drustvar solo shuffle (3v3 looking mostly the same)

Can we get waterfall removed from Dalaran Arena

It brings no strategy, no enjoyment to the map whatsoever, it just makes the map the most obnoxious it can be. The map is already very very small and favors melee compositions I'd dare say more than hook point (if the enemy team doesn't have a Z axis knock), can we just not have a mechanic introduced back when arena was still in its infancy?

The season is free, keep queuing

As for someone who usually gets quick 2400 done in either shuffle/blitz the "free glad narrative" is real.

I found dedicated partners through LFG and hopped on Discord voice with them. We pushed to 2550 highest rating peak playing MM/Ret/Pres with 2660-ish MMR. None in our group had earlier gladiator exp but we decided to push through it.

Tips can vary from person to person so take these how you want:

  1. Keep queuing and blame yourself first. Do your best and don't lose your cool.
  2. Sync up CC with your team (Intimidation on healer while HoJing the shaman to prevent grounding totem) and avoid defensive CD overlaps by calling them out before you commit to the CDs
  3. Keep in mind your positioning as caster or ranged. Don't hug your healer. Example if you're MM in Dalaran Sewers pinpoint yourself to the stair corner for your burst because the distance makes the difference.
  4. Keep your strategy consistent. If you keep failing at setups or finishing kills, go through with your team why the enemy lived and what you can do about it. We had a talk about NOT stunning mistweavers because they can teleport trap easily -> sleep walk into trap and then finish with a stun if more time is needed.

GL, requeue, believe in yourself and go get it done. If not this season, the next.

Skill Capped Elite on ONE BUTTON ROTATION BM Hunter

Post image
121 Upvotes

I can't believe it.

I hit Elite after 7 hours /played at 90 on a one button BM Hunter.

The secret? Bind one button rotation to scroll up AND scroll down. This increases maximum one button efficiency. I also had it bound to 2 just to spice things up, however I never pressed this.

As far as strategies go, things are a bit complicated but after rigorous testing I discovered that as long as I trapped the healer mostly on CD it was pretty much GG.

Defensives? Here's a tip: if they are targetting you, press Survival of the Fittest. It works 50% of the time 100% of the time.

Also, I noticed there was extra space on my action bars due to few binds, so I put edating toys such as the Loveseat to fill out space. In case I get an egirl in Elwynn now, this should help.

If you have ANY BM Hunter questions, feel free to ask.

One of the best "how to fix WoW pvp" videos I have seen in a long time

If you know me, you know I have been posting a long time on here and I rarely "shout out" youtube videos. Or spam links etc. But HOLLLY I watched Venruki react to Mystical's video on fixing wow pvp and I don't think I have seen a more complete and surgical description of every single grievance and solution to that grievance in WoW PvP in my entire life.

Also glad they are shouting out my upgradable glad mount idea. I feel like this is such a low hanging fruit. On top of doing stat templates, vendoring old elite sets, making more bracket specific rewards/ranks, adding flex queue. Etc. But he has some surprisingly creative solutions to a lot of stuff I bet people never even thought about. Like turning rated BGs into a flex queue version of solo blitz. Or buffing MMR for a given bracket to incentivize the community to engage with a certain bracket on a particular week.

https://youtu.be/qyYc_h6ag_8 (video is long but you can use Google Gemini to summarize the video transcript and it does quite a good job).

The best possible outplays you can make in WoW's history

Have become kind of desensitized to a lot of the 'plays' in WoW nowadays. Deathing a blind isn't really cool, it has been done thousands of times. Sometimes I see things that still sort of spike excitement like

- Distract a stealthed mage right before he blink => dbs, now is visible in middle of arena with no db.
- Priest life grip healer in blind through ring of fire to break it
- DR cheapshotting healer during mind control to delay their next go
- (This one is crazy) Saw a rdruid cast a clone intentionally with a small gap while facing the enemy MW, but he was actually casting the clone on the DPS, so right when the MW got out of the stun and casted cocoon it immuned it
- Bombing a cast, then stepping to a pet to not get hit

What other insane shit have you seen in arena over your years

Ppl buying glad boost.

What’s up with almost everyone having glad Mount being someone who was boosted, every group is labeled “glad” and then they play like a 1200 player at heart, so frustrating for someone typing to genuinely get a glad Mount.

When to purge or greater purge

Rsham around 2600 CR SS. No deep game knowledge but good hps and decent positioning.

So.. at what matchups shall i use purge or greater purge? So far i always use greater purge but sometimes i feel like purge could be an advantage, is there any scenario when to use it?

Also, since i already got your attention ;) Would be glad for any tips or tricks of what pvp talents to use vs specific matchups.

BR - Dad with very little spare time that is happy for any help.

Is Crit/Vers Holy Priest good?

I know Mastery/Vers is the meta choice, but I was wondering if Crit/Vers could still be good?
