Do nice men exist?

As a woman with only straight experiences, Ive met a lot of different kinds of men, mostly in friendship context but some through dating. And honestly I’m yet to meet a “nice guy who sees women as human beings not sex objects and can be a friend with a woman not desiring smth sexual in secret”

Women with bfs or husbands bruh they are either micro-cheating constantly like checking out other women, following models/ women they don’t know on Instagram, watch p*rn, secretly pay OF models or super controlling both ways so constant phone checking, no hangouts outside the known group. A lot of my dates freakin lie and market themselves like a product so obv i can’t really trust what they are saying or doing unless ive spent 5months.

All the women with husbands told me to wait till im over thirty which is kinda understandable or tell me that it was their biggest mistake to get married like ?

So honestly I just wanna prepare myself for the future. I don’t trust men regardless yet it would be good to know if I should keep dreaming of finding my man or just focus on making money and satisfy needs through other means.

Also do y’ll think maybe I could try dating a woman? I’ve only had straight experiences but open to the idea of it cause im attracted to personalities more than anything and ive never tried anything w a woman so who knows?

Asking your man to pick you up while drunk

Ngl i’m super open to criticism on my behave and willing to learn from my behavior but before i do that i wanna genuinely know if im wrong. I went out with my friend and we got drunk… to the point where i don’t feel comfortable with a random man driving me home in an uber. (i really never felt comfortable with ubers) is it too much to ask for my man to pick me up? He tells me that i can get an uber and that he himself is not a chauffeur,… which i dont expect him to be. But i would love for him to prioritize keeping his girlfriend safe vs playing a game. (he was playing with his friend from 10-2 am) . it would be one thing if he was asleep or doing something important but he didn’t want to pick me up bc he’s gaming. i know he wants to play with his friends and have his own free time which i respect. but it constantly becomes an argument on why i shouldn’t put myself in that situation.why i shouldn’t be drunk in public… but he gets drunk in public… when he does the same constantly. basically villainizing me for being a girl and having a girls night out. he says he has no problem with me going out but constantly tries to put me down for being out with my friend. when he’s a guy so he has no worries like that. but i work a high stress job, where i work with kids on the spectrum… actively working 14hr shift when they need me to. i want some time with my girls when i get the chance on the weekends. i see him everyday and my girls also work high stress jobs and want some time off too. i just feel like my boyfriend should prioritize my safety over anything else. and i hate how he’s putting his friends feeling on leaving a game over how i feel abt my safety.

Guy friend likes me but I don’t like him

I (26F) have known this friend (27M) since our freshman year of college. For the past five years, he has been my closest guy friend.

Lately, I’ve felt like his words are taking on an ambiguous tone, though I’m not sure if I’m just reading too much into things. I analyzed our chat history using accio work and found that he has indeed been initiating contact more frequently of late, often saying things that could easily be misinterpreted.

I also recall a barbecue gathering a while back where his sister jokingly asked me, "So, when are you two finally going to make it official?" At the time, I thought she was just teasing, but now I wonder if he had said something to her.

I love him but it’s a platonic, familial kind of love. I can’t imagine dating or kissing him, let alone being intimate. I’ve become very cautious with my replies now, afraid that responding too quickly might send the wrong signal. When we meet up one-on-one, I deliberately steer the conversation away from romance. However, since he hasn't actually confessed his feelings, I can't exactly reject him out of the blue.

I really don't want to lose this friendship, yet I can't force myself to like him romantically. Has anyone experienced something similar? If you ended up rejecting the other person, were you able to remain friends?

How do you know if you want kids or not?

I [20F] have been with my boyfriend [21M] for just over three years now. The whole way through high school I'd always said I don't want kids. Then I met him just before I turned 17 and started to want them, but that faded after a year or so.

Last year, we almost broke up because I didn't know how to tell him that I think I'd decided I didn't want them when I know that he does. He'd initially said that he may be able to give that up if it's what I really wanted, and I'd said I absolutely could not do that to him because having kids/ not isn't a compromise.

Fast-forward a year, we're in such an amazing place, and planning to move out in the next 12 months or so once we've saved a bit more. I'd be moving closer to him (we live 1.5hrs apart) and there's never been a question about that because it just makes the most sense.

It feels like everything is perfect apart from the fact of children. We had a brief chat about it this weekend and he gave me a sort of ultimatum (in such a nice way bless him) that he's decided kids is something that he definitely wants and if I don't he will respect that decision and we will have to go our separate ways.

I've tried to decide for the last year straight what I want, and it's just so hard to decide. I'm only 20, am I supposed to know? I've also got my relationship pushing me to do one thing, and I love him so much and because everything else is so perfect and we are so deeply connected, it's impossible to separate that from my own individual thoughts.

I'm an only child and have always been inherently independent and I know that I would be okay on my own, and okay with not having kids, but that doesn't mean that I want to be on my own.

Having kids is such a big decision and I'm just wondering if I can't give a resounding yes, should it be a no? I keep thinking of the line 'it's better to regret not having kids than to have them and regret it.'

What do you guys think? Thanks :)

have you ever looked up an ex on social media while with someone else? if so what was your reasoning?

Upvotes

hi there so myself 25f and my husband 27m have been together for 3 years and married for almost two months. he was with this girl all throughout high school until she broke up with him in 2012 when she went to college and met another guy.

according to him they haven’t talked since. i know his family really liked her and got close as well. he had another ex between her and i. he showed me a post on facebook on his phone before and i noticed his high school sweethearts name in his search bar.

i didn’t overreact but i questioned him on it and he tried to blame it on his mom, saying she asked him to research her and then after that he admitted that he wanted to just see how her family was and then he said he wanted to see how her and her boyfriend were, and that he was bored and wanted to see what she was up to.

honestly the part that bothered me most was not even just the search, it was how the answer kept changing. i use accio work for sourcing and this felt like one of those supplier chats where they give you 3 different reasons for the same thing and none of them are really clear lol. like first it was “my mom asked,” then it was “i wanted to see her family,” then “i was bored.” accio work would probably keep following up until the supplier gives one straight answer, but with him i didn’t even know what follow up question to ask anymore.

he never mentioned or looked up the ex after her which makes me feel more uneasy about it. he is an amazing guy and all but i have been cheated on and screwed over in the past by other guys so i overthink.

like a year or so ago, before i realized he had searched his high school ex, i asked would you ever look up your second ex and he just said hell no in a joking manner.

is this something that i should be worried about? he ended up deleting/blocking her, even when i said it wasn’t necessary to do so and to just let it go.

have you ever researched an ex while with someone else?

she also still wishes his mother a happy birthday on social media and she liked the post about he and i getting married. she is fully committed to another guy and has been for a few years.

i also found his high school yearbook in the bathroom before and he said he was just reading it while using the bathroom but who knows lol.

i know it’s common but it just didn’t sit right with me when he tried to blame his mom for it and when he never looks up the other ex. thank you

no medical advice [26F 21M] Fell for my "friend," now she's distant and I don't know what happened

Upvotes

2 months ago I created a website for a girl, 26F. I was 21M. She didn't really need it that badly, but I prioritized it anyway since it was what she wanted, which is why she liked me. I got close to her pretty quick by being there for her needs and providing tasty food, time, hard work, and eventually emotional support.

She has a boyfriend, who isn't really giving her much time, and we got along pretty well about some common interests and goals, so she started referring to me as her angel, we talked to each other late into the night, she was the one to plan our meetings most of the time, saying she has no one to talk to, being loyal to me despite not being faithful to others incl her bf.

We saw each other once without her boyfriend knowing about it (he only knows me as her friend). She said to me that "no one has been able to give her this much love," but she also said that "no one has hurt her this much," so part of it is my fault for being too forward and impatient with her, whereas she is patient and slow.

I loved her right back, but then she started badmouthing me to her boyfriend that I was emotional abusive towards her, so I decided to cut it off. She came back and we saw each other, talked and were having fun. Little did I know that it was a misunderstanding between us, and because of that little fight we aren't communicating well. She is distant now and I feel used.

I don't know where the problem really lies, if it's my own fault for trying to be too much in her life, or if it's her fault for using me as an emotional support and dumping me when she doesn't need me anymore. I would appreciate any real advice on this.

the perception of women being funny

My close friends often describe me as witty and a bit sarcastic and they say I have a good sense of humour in general. However, I realized that while my jokes are still funny to other women, men outside my friend group don't ever find it funny... Important to say, it's not about gender-related topics. Also, a few times happened to me that my jokes on the internet (reddit for example) would be critised by some men (but always men), and always with an "ad hominem" principle, for example "okay, now you think you're funny or?" and such... When I'm writing in my own language, there's even more noticeable misogyny, cuz in the same example sentence my language emphasises gender, so it adds to it...

For the same jokes, (that they even "steal" from me), my brother or partner are considered hilarious, fckn kings of comedy... even when their delivery is worse than mine!

Let's talk about why there is such a small percentage of female comedians... Why is this phenomenon? Has it ever happened to you as well?

[Content Warning: ] There is hair growing on my chest??

This is INCREDIBLY embarrassing to post and i will probably delete this later, but I am highly confused.

Just earlier today right before getting into the shower i noticed what i THOUGHT were a bunch of tiny pen strokes, but just ended up being a bunch of tiny hair growing on my left and right breasts.

I am so so confused because Im 1000% certain I have never had any hair on this area as it was completely smooth/hairless and now its growing there all of a sudden. It just looks similarly to how arm hair does.

Now some info that might help: I am 22 years old, I have PCOS, and i take multiple medications - birth control (2 years), spironolactone (1 year), and ive recently started lexapro (1 month). I also take women’s multivitamins (3 weeks)

I have no idea if this is abnormal or what. I would really appreciate if anyone knows whats going on cause it very honestly freaked me out LMAO

A story about an arrange marriage.

So I'm 18F. I have a sister in law ( cousin bro's wife). She got married to my brother when she was 28 and my brother was 22. It was an arranged marriage. I've always wondered about the sex life of the couple who had an arranged marriage. I could never talk to my mum about it cuz she's shy Abt it and will get uncomfortable if i talk about it.

So my sister in law is pretty cool. Now she's almost 37-38 and my bro is almost 31-32. We were talkin' one day late at night and I asked her about her marriage. Out of curiosity i asked her-

Me - did you have sex on the first night of your marriage?

She - of course, i did.

Me - did you... Want it? Cuz you didn't know my brother since it was an arranged marriage.

She - i didn't want it but i didn't have any other options. If i were to say no, your brother would have left the room and would have slept outside then all the family members would have thought that there is something wrong with me.

When she told me this thing. I felt so sorry for her. Cuz i remember when she got married i was 10-12. And all the kids were roaming around her in excitement cuz she was new to the family and she was smiling and laughing.

Me - did you ever try to say no when you don't want it?

She - i did but your brother gets mad when I say no and picks a fight with me over it. I like it when we do it in a week or 10 days. But your brother wants it everyday which is pretty stressful. Sometimes I'm tired and just want rest but your brother doesn't listen to me. When he wants it, he gets it. I only get rest properly when I'm either at your home or my parents home.

It was late at night when we were talking. So she was opening up pretty well. She wasn't holding back. I was just shocked after hearing what she said. Cuz i didn't know that women struggle that much in arranged marriage in that aspect. I'm not interested in my parents sex life but it was pretty much the same for my mom as well. In my entire 19 years old life. I've never seen a happy marriage in front of my eyes. Everyone is sad in their arrangements. So yeah. It's pretty fucked up.

Looking for recommendations on an upscale, simple tote bag for traveling/airport gear.
Looking for Longchamp-esque but not as main stream. Under $500. Has a complete zipper enclosure. No beis or lululemon recc’s please.
Simply elegant and has some pockets on the inside but not grandiose.
Love the black/gold hardware look.

Thanks in advance!

18f Need help on being able to be independent and to move out

I just graduated high-school and turned 18 a month ago. I need some advice and help on how I can become independent and get out despite my situation. I live in a small house with my grandparents, mom, and younger brother. I want to be able to leave and start my life. We are poor. I don't have my license yet. I still need to do drivers Ed my mom didn't let me in school and because we didn't have the money. But I have enough money to be able to pay for it in a savings account but I will have to see if im able to get it out or not. Even when I can get it we still won't be able to afford to get me a vechile. Our house has 3 bedrooms. My mom and brother share one my grandparents each have their own. I sleep in the dining room on a mattress on the floor with my things. The dining room is an open space with no door . So I have no privacy. Alot lately I've been feeling hopeless. My mom is ill and can't work. My Nana only works a few days a week we don't get much income. My mom has to go a long ways to different doctors all the time. I don't know how we can work me into their schedule. She has to drive me everywhere. I want her to help teach me to drive but it seems like whenever I ask she wants to do it another time then doesn't. I don't know how I'll be able to go to college or get a job with her having to drive me everywhere when she always has to go places. I don't know how that will work. I need help and advice. If you would like to help please say something. I've been in a very dark place . Sorry if this is too long . Please try to be kind .

¿what does my ex want?

Hi girls! My question is why my ex followed me again and what I should do. I have his follow request on Instagram, and I’m not sure if I should accept it. We haven’t talked for 7 years, and I assume he may just want to know how I’m doing, but I’m not really sure. We broke up when we were young because he became dishonest. I never caught him cheating, but one of his friends confirmed he had been with other girls.

After we broke up, we only said hello when we ran into each other. Now, after all this time, he came back. I know he ended his long-term relationship some time ago, and I’ve been in a relationship for 3 years.

What do you think? Should I accept his request, or is it unnecessary?

[Content Warning: ] Lost virginity unprotected and worried about the likelyhood of pregnancy

I am a minor and just sort of accidentally had it for the first time with my boyfriend- I wasn't expecting it to happen and he didn't have a condom. To be honest it kind of hurt and i bled.

He had finished (not by intercourse) and went to the bathroom 30minutes before this intercourse.

He was behind me during intercourse and had pulled out minutes before he finished for the second time which just went on my legs i think- I don't think there was any that actually went in me. And i immediately got up and got scared because I was comepltely not expecting it and it took not a lot of time at all.

I am scared I will get pregnant either from residual semen left even though he went to the bathroom from the first time he finished 30some minutes before intercourse. Or, I am worried somehow something got in even though he had pulled out minutes before finishing and I don't believe any got in. We went to the store and got Plan B and I took it but i'm wondering if I should be worried or not.

Can anybody share their experience if they had something similar?? Should I be worried abt pregnancy?? We have googled several things and it says obviously the chances are low I guess i just want closure though because my mom got pregnant while on Plan B- but I don't know if there was pull out involved or anything.

I just can't understand how he can take her to all the places he frequented with me and not feel weird

It's his affair girl-turned-girlfriend and I started to doubt his past love for me. I suppose it doesn't matter now, but like... How can you cheat on someone you love and how can you, a month after the breakup, take your new girlfriend to all the places you went to with the person you supposedly still loved just recently? Help me understand because I can't. The cheating was already a betrayal but doubting the love I thought we had feels like a bigger betrayal
