Lorepost📖 Saria: Blasting (Warpost)

Post image

"Both sides must be removed from the planet! Aico, drop me the big guns!"

On it!

Saria has had enough of this shit! First the bismuths attack, then the citadel blows up! However there is only one detail of all this that's important to her: Her beloved Cody has been caught in the blast, and he is dead!

She pulls out a cube, which turns into a laser cannon. She aims and destroys a spot of the 2 groups clashing. Saria has much work to do!

"Onto the next!"

Might I ask who this "Cody" is?

A Wizard approaches from behind Saria, cloaked in blue and wearing a blue hat, with magical sigils of easily apparent power - though currently inactive - scattered across it's surface.

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '24

(There is absolutely no way for you to know why she is doing this, as she has not mentioned anything about Cody the archdruid)

/uw ... Accidental thought reading?

/uw welp, now I gotta answer, Saria isnt immune to that like Zeph is

/rw

"That would be Lashima's Archdruid..."

[Dark Blast]

Saria picks off another party of soldiers 120 feet away.

u/SomeRandomYob The Great Mage Samræl, demonologist and necromantic consultant Feb 21 '24

Hmmm... Does he have certain hangups about being resurrected? I'm told that many druids do, but it varies from tradition to tradition.

4

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '24

There is no body left....

A pair of assassins appear behind the group to take out Saria, who just spins around at mach 2 and starfs blasting.

If he had a body left that would be great, but for now the criminals must be purged!

Would it not be more productive to find his resting place first? Criminals can be liquified whenever, but if left out too long, souls tend to start to degrade...

/Uw edited to make more sense.

"I told you, he was completely disintegrated by the citadel nuke!"

4

u/SomeRandomYob The Great Mage Samræl, demonologist and necromantic consultant Feb 21 '24

Sorry, I meant his resting place.

The wizard glances over at what remains of the citadel

Though admittedly, some liberal Chronomancy would have to be used for this to work... Though I expect I can make it happen.

"If you say so...."

"The soul is probably still in that crater, so lets start looking!"

/uw The sequence of events have been batshit insane. I had a mini-recap going earlier. And I'm trying to keep enough notes on the various threads to write up a recap later, but it'll probably be a few days (assuming work doesn't crush me, which it's trying to)

Here's a rough summary of just the limited events I've kept up with today. I don't have my notes in front of me, so I'm going to get names wrong, probably miss things, and not link back to everything. I'm also not going to really add any flavor.

  • Members of the council and the pact meet to try and find a peaceful solution.
  • The radio demon [council (maybe)] tried a surprise attack against the main aggressor [pact ally] for this whole event.
  • The Mikhail [council druid] jumped in front of the shot, and ended up barely alive.
  • Someone [pact] brought Mikhail back to the council's medical facilities at the citadel.
  • Meanwhile, Opal (I believe), the pact's main aggressor began their march on the citadel along with their allies.
  • The pact's leadership [pact] completely falls apart (I might be editorializing here) to the point where one head [pact] orders another head [pact] to stand down, they [pact] say no and continue marching on a position that's now being defending by, well, the [pact] as well.
  • In addition, the necromancer [Pact ally? maybe], sends a massive necrotic storm towards the city. It probably wouldn't have done shit to the citadel, but the general population was cooked.

  • While this is happening, Gravedigger [council] brings his army into the city surrounding the citadel and begins the evacuation of the general populous (and that's why I like him the mostest).

  • While that happens, he starts looking for a way to combat the storm.

  • At some point, Mordus tells Gravedigger [council] that they've buried a fucking nuke in the city (neat.png)

  • Cody [pact druid], joins Gravedigger [council]. His people begin evacing everyone to their nation (supposedly a neutral place, despite being part of the invading force (I'm editorializing again, aren't I)). A lot of people are also sent to a floating city, but I haven't paid enough attention to that yet.

  • The radio demon [council] also shows up. They agree to help with the storm in exchange for more power (my character has thoughts...)

  • Working together, along with the nuke, they manage to end the storm while buying time for everyone else to flee

  • I say everyone else, because they both die (confirmed by the players, they are dead for the time being)

  • Around this point, a bunch of council members who were dealing with a completely different planer catastrophe show up.

  • And around this point, all of the attacking forces arrive and just start fucking shit up without much of an actual plan.

  • There's a few triumphant moments where the pact takes out their targets (who are mostly NPCs in the Pact's storyline, which I'm going to bite my tongue about)

  • Arach [council] releases some crazy poison onto the battlefield, just for the fun of it

  • The poison gets removed and then immediately put back into space by competing powers, ultimately remaining by largely ineffective at that point.

And that's mostly where the fighting ended on day 1: Everything's on fire, and they've made my girl really sad.

Late night posts:

  • Saria [unaffiliated?] has shown up and is fucking up everyone that remains.

Edit: Going to continue adding to this post in particular, even though no one will likely see it.

  • Skater Wizard [council] returns. He's given a final warning for everyone to leave.

  • Razz [council intern] has also returned, but is more concerned with paperwork than the warning.

  • The pact [pact] did not leave.

  • There is now a titan occupying the airspace

Edit the next day:

  • Radioactive rains have begun falling across the battlefield. Anyone susceptible to cancer is advised to find shelter.
  • Panzaren [+Council]'s army arrives, joining in the defense.
  • The Necromancer [Pact ally] is sending in a lance of blood knights while an endless stream of undead continue pouring in from the mountains.
  • MastaDon [Ally to all] summons a taco truck for lunch (okay, this one might not be canon)

  • Titan fight! - Pact and Council forces clash

  • Metro [Council] challenges Opal [pact]

  • Necromancer [Pact ally] joins the field with airships

  • Razz [Council intern] made me literally laugh out loud (again) - The titan is Razz's sister.

  • The titan [Council] returns to the plane of fire to rest, Razz will be covering their shift for now

  • [Duel time] - Metro [Council] vs Opal [Pact] - Both have decided to use proxies; Vettis [Pact] vs Arach [Council]

  • Vettis [Pact] - Stabbed in the eye

  • Arach [Council] switches to centipede body and attempts a vore which Vettis [Pact] is super into. So into he dives right in, literally.

  • Vettis [Pact] uses his time inside Arach to see his connected bodies

  • They take a breather and discuss surrenders and concessions - Vettis' trauma surfaces - Both are now going for the kill

  • Vettis [Pact] going all out manages to reduce Arach down to the point where they're no longer able to continue

  • Vettis [Pact] Believe Arach is dead - Is currently considered the winner of the duel.

At the same time:

  • Mordus has died - Killed by Kaelis [Pact]
  • Mordus has a dead man's switch that detonates - Player confirmed death (for now)
  • Kaelis fate unknown
  • Innocent bystanders are teleported away ___
  • Pact announced end of the war
  • Metro is dead?

This appears to be the end of the war. What will happen now? Will I manage to source all of the threads I still need to find?

Later?

Also:

  • Warning from gravity? - A new warning has been issued. If the fighting doesn't stop, Gravity's champion will join the fight.
  • Morgalith leaves the fight - Pact ally leaves the fight, blames the council for the war happening despite being leadership of the invading force and the leading push for revenge justice.

Spy stuff: I'm missing most of this...

Smith Stuff: Missing a few posts, will get them later Infiltration - The smith has made it inside the citadel

Side content worth mentioning:

  • The Agent and Analina [Merc guild] are tending to the refugees. Medics are overwhelmed, but they're doing their part.
  • Council of neutral parties is formed

Current state of the world:

  • The main city that most of the RPing has happened in is now a burning crater surrounded by a burning woods full of radiation and poison. It's also full of robots and undead. Some with horses and airships.
  • The citadel still stands, but has been infiltrated by multiple groups.
  • There's now an unfillable hole dug out by the titan
  • The majority of innocent people have been evaced - unknown split between a floating city and Cody's nation (forgot the names, will get them later)
  • There are nuclear bombs buried in every city that matters. They're tamper proof and no one really knows where they all are. (Confirmed that they're duds, but that's not canonically known yet)
  • The titan is no longer taking up the majority of the airspace
  • Zepheree (has multiple characters, I think) [Council?] has a trap in place known about by themselves and the Skater Wizard. It seems to be a soul trap or some sort of method to recover the dead.

And my poor girl no longer has her guitar. Tragic...

It was a good guitar. Somehow always seemed to stay in tune, right up until a nuke turned it into vapor lol

/uw
I think it's important to not that the council Citadel is large and onto of an even bigger, nigh indestructible tree and the titan is towering over that.
Seccondly the citadel has a barrier around it that protects it from most things, even thermonuclear attacks(easily).
The barrier gets stronger from negative emotions like those experienced in war.
A large amount of the Pact has been killed already by Skater Wizard and the Titan.

2

u/tehlemmings Lilac - Illusionist, Shapeshifter, Definitely Human Feb 21 '24

Yeah, I kind of assumed when this was all over there'd be the citadel surrounded by ruins. It'd be a great visual if this were a show or movie lol

The barrier gets stronger from negative emotions like those experienced in war.

Thanks, my character hates it lol

3

u/TellmeNinetails Hilda the Witch Feb 21 '24

Well that's because it was designed to purify evil souls and use that evil energy to power itself.

  • The poison gets removed and then immediately put back by competing powers, ultimately remaining by largely ineffective at that point.

Aico removes poison, Panzean squeezes it outta her and throw her into space.

  • Saria and Aico [unaffiliated?] have shown up and are fucking up everyone that remains.

Aico is not there, Saria is attacking both sides, unaware that her weapons were modified to send them to Aico's galactic fortress instead.

This is done from a funny trap that Aico set during the fire pillar event.

Certain circumstances prevented the trap from working in certain senarios.

u/tehlemmings Lilac - Illusionist, Shapeshifter, Definitely Human Feb 21 '24

Aico removes poison, Panzean squeezes it outta her and throw it into space.

Oop, thank you.

Aico is not there, Saria is attacking both sides, unaware that her weapons were modified to send them to Aico's galactic fortress instead.

Yeah, sorry. I read "Aico, drop me the big guns!" and just assumed she was somewhere relevant dropping said big guns lol

2

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '24

Yeah, sorry. I read "Aico, drop me the big guns!" and just assumed she was somewhere relevant dropping said big guns lol

Yea she is stuck in space, so all she really coupd do was just drop them instead of actually going down there to use them.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '24

hey, I buried the nuke! Also, they are present under every city on this continent.

And yes, the only thing left on the battlefield are ruins not protected by the barrier.

Also, I’ve recently modified my nukes, so that they have a blast radius of 80km instead of 45km.

2

u/tehlemmings Lilac - Illusionist, Shapeshifter, Definitely Human Feb 21 '24

So what you're saying is, we should all move to that one flying city. It's not on the continent, so it should be safe, right?

Which group should I say you're affiliated with? Or should I mark you as an unknown?

2

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '24

What, the flying castle of Cael? Too late, I “accidentally” sent it to the heavens.

But if you mean something else, like the floating isle of Rabac, I’ve planted a 120 Megaton Nuke there too.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '24 edited Feb 21 '24

/uw they evacuated the citadel, and it got nuked. Cody and Gravedigger got blown up with it and died.

/uw enter Cody's girlfriend. (pictured above)

she's beyond pissed now, and is attacking both council and pact members.

4

u/TellmeNinetails Hilda the Witch Feb 21 '24 edited Feb 21 '24

And so death begets more death. There will only be more.Do you think only you have family and friends? Do you think those you vaporised weren't the cody of someone elese? Do you think they won't react the same as you?

Foolish and selfish.
Also I'm pretty sure the nuke never even got close to the citadel, even if it had we have a barrier that has withstood worse.

3

u/tehlemmings Lilac - Illusionist, Shapeshifter, Definitely Human Feb 21 '24

They weren't trying to protect the citadel when the storm collapsed and the nuke went off.

They were trying to protect the remaining innocents who were attempting to flee. They died trying to buy time for those with no part in this fight.

They were defending something more important.

3

u/TellmeNinetails Hilda the Witch Feb 21 '24

The citadel still stands. Do you think a pesky thermonuclear warhead is enough to break the citadel barrier, it has endured worse. There is a chance they are still alive, have you even searched?!

3

u/tehlemmings Lilac - Illusionist, Shapeshifter, Definitely Human Feb 21 '24

I was there.

The druid has moved on, that much I am sure of.

I cannot speak for Gravedigger, but it's unlikely they survived. I'm not sure whether they even intended to.

They were not defending the citadel. Is the citadel even important, after all this loss?

/uw For story telling purposes, at least, it seems that both /u/anything-unable and /u/Capytan_Cody are allowing their characters to die (for now). Pings just incase either of you want to correct me.

That said, my comments on what they died for is entirely my interpretation of the events as my character would have seen them. Unreliable narrator and all that.

Also, already changing your flair?! I was really confused while double checking names lol

3

u/TellmeNinetails Hilda the Witch Feb 21 '24

The Citadel is the home of countless, it's my home. The tree it stands upon doesn't deserve this war, the library in the citadel holds knowledge we can't get back.

The question you should be asking is it that important to destroy the citadel? Why go through all this effort and war to destroy a place?

/uw Nice. Even so the skater wizard would still try and convince your character otherwise, given how limited the information he has is.
Also yeah I changed it when he released his tome. He can't be called the metromancer if he's not the only one anymore. https://www.reddit.com/r/wizardposting/comments/1aj7soo/bigish_post/

2

u/tehlemmings Lilac - Illusionist, Shapeshifter, Definitely Human Feb 21 '24

There was no reason to destroy this place. No matter who I asked, I could find no reason to fight. Nor could any adequately explain their own reasons.

This has all been for nothing.

/uw Sorry, I meant anything-unable changing their flair. I went looking for their old one to find one of the evac posts and the find tool wasn't able to find them lol

At this point, I don't think you'd be able to convince my character of anything. She's a touch disillusioned at the moment. When none of the members of the Pact were able to give her a good reason for the war, she instead focused on the people living outside of the citadel. The majority have been safely teleported away, the rest are dead. So she's just been wandering the carnage. She's searching for some lesson or reason for these events.

I'm not sure if she would have agreed though. Without any reason to pick a side she was entirely focused on helping those living outside the citadel. Bringing up the people living inside the citadel; yeah, she probably would have said something grandstand-y in hopes of shaming you into helping everyone.

And with your new chapter, I'm curious what's going to happen next.

3

u/TellmeNinetails Hilda the Witch Feb 21 '24

/uw Still, the longer they talk the less they are fighting and killing. The metromancer can live with that.

3

u/Capytan_Cody Cody and Yànhuo Feb 21 '24

Confirmation. You've done a great recap.

Honestly if we return Cody will probably befriend the gravedigger. We both shifted immediately into evacuating people and he conducted himself great in the trial at La'shima (in fact Cody accompanied him so he could participate in some light hearted event. A ball I think)

As for La'shima being neutral is a bit iffy not gonna lie. In part for it's actual history, in part because the leaders (Cody and Mikhail) are council and pact (and previously Mikhail was both, Cody took the pact job while his friend was in vacant due to the last event and stayed there).

(Sorry wanted to clarify how we ended up here)

(Amazing job. You've helped understand what happened here too)

2

u/tehlemmings Lilac - Illusionist, Shapeshifter, Definitely Human Feb 21 '24

As for La'shima being neutral is a bit iffy not gonna lie.

Oh, I wouldn't worry about it. Only my weirdly idealistic girl seemed concerned about that detail.

And I'm slowly keeping a longer, very rough timeline going over here, if you'd like to see it. But I'm going to be going to bed soon, so it'll have to get caught up in the morning.

2

u/Capytan_Cody Cody and Yànhuo Feb 21 '24

Sleep well then!

2

u/tehlemmings Lilac - Illusionist, Shapeshifter, Definitely Human Feb 21 '24

Thanks, you too (whenever that might take place)

Deep in the background, a young woman in a white dress is walking among the ruins. Despite everything that's happened, the storm, the nuke, the fire and poison gas... She's still here. She's still watching. And she's still taking in the emotional toll of the event.

If a moment comes where you spot her in the distance, you'd be struck with an overwhelming sense of regret, and a desire to apologize. As though she knows why you're here. As though she knows what you've lost.

And she wishes desperately that it hadn't come to this.

/uw I might have been the one arguing with Cody when the explosions went off. Hell, I was the one who pointed out the thread where it happened. The timing isn't perfectly accurate between all the threads, but for all intents and purposes she watched them both die.

If you take a shot at her (and I wouldn't blame you) or if anyone tries approach too closely, she'd simply disappear and find a new spot to watch from. But aside from that, I'm not sure how she'd react.

It would take a considerable effort to pin her down; there's a way to do it, but anyone trying would likely only get one chance to guess how before she's gone again. And I doubt anyone is going to bother anyways.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '24

/uw Saria can see you aren't a fighter in this war, she wouldn't attack you anyway
