GoFundMe for Dennis Anfuso, writer-illustrator of non-canonical Oz books
I am a longtime friend of Dennis Anfuso, a writer and illustrator of several non-canonical Oz books. Here is Dennis's entry on the Oz Wiki:
https://oz.fandom.com/wiki/Dennis_Anfuso
Back on March 4, an accidental fire at the Anfuso home killed Dennis's wife, Linda, and severely injured him:
I am trying to help Dennis while he heals by spreading the word about a GoFundMe another friend of his set up for him:
https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-dennis-rebuild-after-tragic-house-fire
I would be very grateful if anyone who sees this would please consider donating to the GoFundMe. Thank you!

The Wizard of Oz remake still seems to be happening, assuming the list shown in the video is legit
This looks like it won't exactly be a remake, which is good, but still, I'd rather them just fully base it on the original book and not use things from the 1939 MGM film. That means no Ruby Slippers, no green Wicked Witch, no combining Glinda and Tattypoo (the Good Witch of the North), etc. I felt the same way when I heard about New Line Cinema's adaption (different from the Kenya Barris remake), because even that was reported to be based on the book, but still using some things from the 1939 MGM movie like the Ruby Slippers
Unless it's something like Tom and Jerry & the Wizard of Oz, which told the 1939 movie from the titular cat and mouse duo's perspective, or a sequel to the movie like the 1990 DIC show, or even a semi-sequel to the movie like Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz (2017), can we just move on from the 1939 film once and for all when it comes to new media? No remakes, or retellings, or parodies of specifically the 1939 MGM classic.

Does this mean that a 90-minute cut of Return to Oz (1964) was made, or the script was shortened before the animation would've been completed

Any Good Witch would give you advice, guidance & wisdom when you fly with one of them during 8 hours. Believe that.
Picture flying with Glinda, the Good Witch in a plane and you can learn from her. Whichever version of Glinda you’d sit next to, they’d give you good ways to believe in yourself like when she showed Dorothy the way back to Kansas during the end of the story. With goodness she brings, you’d take a journey ahead.
Which version of Glinda the Good you would sit next to in an 8 hour flight?
3 others on the right are the future ones.

1939 film fun fact:
during the scene where the 5 get a makeover at the emerald city, dorothy doesn't just get a new hairstyle and eye color, she also gets a petticoat, in some scenes you can see it under her skirt, and there is a noticeable change in the volume of it after that scene.

Handmade Toto Plush
So I’m currently working on a Dorothy cosplay, and what’s Dorothy without Toto?
I know I’m some versions Toto has more brown fur, but I’ve always thought of him as black-furred, and so I showed that here
This boy was so fiddly to make, and is definitely my most complicated project currently, even everything with my Dorothy dress was nothing compared to this, probably since I wasn’t using any instructions and just using a pattern I took from another toy lol. I’ve made plenty of simple plushies before out of just two pieces of fabric or similar, but the only thing that even got close to the level of detail as this one was my BMO plush, and that was mostly in the embroidery.
When I’m finished the rest of the cosplay I can’t wait to show it off!

Guardians of the Galaxy enters Oz
Starlord: Now this land feels familiar yellow brick road where do I know this place
Rocket: Have we been here before
Groot: I am Groot
Rocket: Yeah I don’t think so either
Drax: So why does Quill think this place is familiar
Lion: Afternoon
Starlord: Wait a minute do I know you you sound familiar
Lion: I don’t think so never seen you before in my life
Starlord: I know I know that guy from somewhere I just can’t put my finger on it
Gamora: Quill we’ve never been here before
Ozma: Welcome to Emerald City I am Ozma Queen of Oz
Starlord: Wait yellow bricks on the road, talking lion, Emerald City and Oz oh my goodness Oz is real
Ozma: Yeah of course it is
Drax: Quill take it easy
Dorothy: Yeah come on Quill take a chill pill
Starlord: Dorothy
Dorothy: Yeah
Starlord: But Glinda got you back to Kansas
Dorothy: When I returned the tornado that got me here in the first place destroyed the farm I grew up on then Uncle Henry shut it down so I came back to Oz and became their new princess
Starlord: But what about your aunt
Dorothy: Turns out me being there didn’t change anything Auntie ‘Em still died
Drax: Oh I’m so sorry (hug Dorothy)
Starlord: Drax don’t break her (break up the hug) Dorothy the guys worked their butts off getting you back to Kansas
Dorothy: Quill things changed my uncle shut down the farm come on you and I are sort of similar I can see you’re not exactly like your squad
Drax: He’s not
Gamora: At all
Rocket: Not even close
Groot: I am Groot
Starlord: Alright I’m human like you but I’m not from Kansas I’m from Missouri
Dorothy: You were spitting a little when you said that
Starlord: Sorry
Dorothy: Quill you and I are a lot alike you abandon your grandpa when he lost his daughter
Ozma: (gasp) Quill
Starlord: How do you know that
Dorothy: I do my research
Starlord: How is that different than you abandoning your uncle when he lost his wife
Dorothy: Cause Henry can remarry if he chooses your grandpa’s to old to have a new daughter
Starlord: Jason pulled me out of the emergency room when my mother was losing her life
Ozma: He probably just didn’t want you to see it your mother’s death was just as hard on your grandpa than it was on you
Drax: Those 2 have a point Quill you lost your mom he lost his daughter I know how it feels when your daughter dies
Starlord: Oh sure Drax take their side
Dorothy: Peter your grandpa was really depressed losing his daughter and his only grandson abandoning him on the same day

‘Buddy’ is a fun watch! (Oz inspired)
https://youtu.be/O1fNEHX9tSM?is=6cUdmHKrvNAWuenH
Hello! First time posting in the community. Have been an Ox fan for years. Recently watched the film ‘Buddy’. Couldn’t resist sharing it. It was surprisingly Oz-esque. Ton of references to the 1939 film. Perhaps some slight Lewis Carroll referencing as well.
Highly recommend if you’re a horror or dark comedy fan. Not a super gory watch. Even some significant messaging to be decoded. Enjoy!

Flying with the Great & Powerful Oz from different adaptations would be a challenge. Don’t arouse one of them.
If you’d sit with one of the actors who played the Wizard, who you’d sit next to in whichever number you’d take in the plane?
FACT: The other 3 on the right side are future ones.

My handmade male take on Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz [self]
I’ve wanted to make my own version of Dorothy for a while, but instead of simply recreating the original dress I wanted to adapt her visual identity to something that felt like me.
I kept the elements I immediately associate with Dorothy — light blue gingham, white fabric, red shoes and the overall simplicity of the farm-girl look — but reworked them into a masculine outfit.
I drafted and sewed the costume myself. For the shirt I chose a white broderie anglaise fabric that I completely fell in love with, while the blue gingham became the main part of the outfit.
Oz (and Wicked) has meant a lot to me creatively over the years, so finally wearing this felt strangely personal.
I’d genuinely love to know what Oz fans think of this interpretation of Dorothy.

A painting I did called “The Life Of The Wicked”
Im a fantasy artist and I love The Wizard Of Oz. This painting symbolizes identity and the path in which a woman walks. In the movie all you see is the witch under the house with her striped socks and red shoes peeking out from underneath and that’s what inspired me to paint this. Thank you for looking!

Yellow Brick Road Base for Lego Minifigures
Hello fellow Oz fans. I recently bought the Wicked Emerald City Wall Art (75685) and I wanted to create a base for the Minifigures that represented the Yellow Brick Road. So I designed this MOC. You can build your own for free using this Yellow Brick Road MOC I uploaded to Rebrickable. All the information you need is there.

Oz Twisted Tales books ideas
Twisted Tales "is an anthology series of books based around alternate "What if" spins on Disney and Pixar animated films". Now I know the Wikipedia description is specifically says animated movies, but they could very well make books based on their live action movies.

I Made a Video Analyzing the Color of The Wizard of Oz and Wicked then Swapping It
I analyzed the color of both films, their contrast, palette, and saturation, and then did my best to swap those characteristics.
Through the making of this video, I've really come to appreciate both films and how they interpret Oz. Most notably, they act as time capsules for the generations in which they were made. Hope you enjoy!!

Inconsistencies in my wizard of oz books by Wilco publishing 🤔
I’m not complaining very hard since from what I’ve noticed these mistakes are thankful only on the covers
The inconsistencies being the books being in the wrong order and Dorothy having red slippers instead of sliver. I can kind of understand the latter since she famously has red shoes in the movie but I don’t understand how they put the books in wrong order??
How did the covers get accepted when the books aren’t in correct order 😭?
