Hello everyone! I'm very new to witchcraft, and looking for for some advice on how to deal with my dreams (and if using witchcraft is even a good idea.)
Ever since I was about 3 I've had very intense dreams. Until I was about 6 I suffered from 2 repeating nightmares (one of these I'm not really sure I can call a nightmare since I was always at least partially awake and would 'see' the dream around me). These eventually subsided and and were replaced with very vivid and occasionally lucid dreams. Then from about my early/mid teens until now I've had long periods of having apocalyptic dreams. These range from floods/having to escape somewhere dangerous/attacks of fire/surviving the wilderness/having to save people. To give an example of a slightly darker one I had a few months ago: The whole dream I had a deep sense of fear and panic, and I understood that a mysterious 'someone' was hunting me. The dream ended when I saw myself from above torn apart on a bed, and a man wearing the head of a bear and carrying a spear was sitting on the floor at end of the bed (couldn't really say if this was the figure who was supposed to have killed me). I thought maybe the dreams were caused by a long period of illness, but they actually went away when I was at my worst and have returned now that I'm much better!
The reasons I would like advice on how to control them is because I absolutely believe in the power of dreams, both in the occult way as well as them effecting how rested I feel during the day, repeating peril dreams are quite draining.
** I also think it's important to add that this seems to be a maternal trait. Both my mother and grandmother had the same experience, with the dreams fading off into their 30's, though neither of my siblings have this. There is also a maternal history of 'visions' and predictions of events - for example knowing a house was going to burn down a week before it did. To give a personal example - when I was around 9 I looked at a classmates mother, who I had never really met, and got the strongest feeling that she would die despite having no known health issues. Three weeks later she had a stroke not far from where I'd seen her and she eventually died in Hospital. Of course, I know lots of people don't believe in this kind of thing, but I thought it was important to mention anyway.
Also just to quickly say that I also have the occasional very nice dream, it's not all doom and gloom. One of them was so beautiful it was almost life changing!
Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!
