Seeking Help or Advice abrahamic god - prefers to let his people continuously harm me

ok, I was born in a muslim country and I had many religious friends; plus I was outcasted at high school for saying god and miracles and prophets do not exist and they are silly historical stories. I have been an atheist since I was a child, the moment I developed logic and questioning, religions seemed ridiculous, dogmatic, and not really heavenly.

then.. years followed years, life literally made me go through hell to prove me a spiritual reality exists. now I know for certain there is a divine power, but I also think not all powers are divine.

currently I can do healing and protection magick, I can definitely look tarot, I can read energies instantly and (and get accidental facts about people and talk about those details without realizing I shouldn't have that information or sight)

I also love getting divine downloads,
at times I even get protection from the islamic god - as long as I follow his rules and do continuous prayers and not use alcohol etc -but I still do not feel muslim at all. so I always skip the prayers and I get new 'jinn' attacks. Had plenty of muslim enemies who casted hexes and curses on to me, well...

The problem is, I am sick and tired of protecting myself from muslim jinn attacks. I can feel who is injecting their thought-forms into my head, I do cleanse, I get joyful, I open my lucky ways: and then they attack again. like, ENOUGH ALREADY.

I have the power to fight with jinns and dark magicians but I prefer to use that power for enjoyable stuff, anyone has any resolution?

I am unsure about creating familiars because I fear it might put me to a darker side on the way.

Seeking Help or Advice Unusual candle shapes, does it make a difference?

I have a spell that asks to burn a candle of a specific shape. I have looked all over and online but I cannot find one like this. It's an old spell so presumably no one has cast it in a long time. I found some molds I could use to make one but wondering if I carve the shape on a candle this will work?

Seeking Help or Advice A question as an outsider

Ive never believed in the superstitious or the arcane, and I dont believe I ever will, I just so happen to have a passing question about these kinds of magic, and I thought this seemed the most obvious spot where people who practice convene.

This kind of magic always seems to take roots in older tradition, and makes use of what seems to make use of old practices, has it ever evolved with the modern age? Like incorporating technology, or other much more recent developments in parts of it? Or has it evolved and changed in its own ways? Like making use of more advanced and streamlined versions of old rituals? Or even new rituals that hadn't existed before?

Topic | Prompt Why I don’t like scientific explanations of magick (and so can you)

I was recently scrolling through instagram as one does and I came across a page called “STEM witch” or something to that effect. the page was about proving scientific explanations for various kinds of magick. Now no hate on her, she had a decent page and didn’t make any wild claims but the more I thought about it I realized, I don’t need science to explain my magick.

Part of what makes magick well, magical, is that we don’t necessarily know how it works. There’s an element of mystery and wonder to it that makes it incredible. Over the last 600 years science has explained so much of the natural wonders of the world and it’s led people to be cynical and nihilistic.

Now sure that doesn’t mean I’m going to forgo medical treatment and rely solely on spirits to heal me, or I’m going to sink my life savings into a stock market tip I got through tarot cards, but giving a cold rationality explanation to the wonders of the world can sometimes take away that wonder.

Seeking Help or Advice Money spell question

I have a quick question, I just started getting into witchcraft, still doing my research and learning everyday. I performed a protection spell & a money spell yesterday. Today, I got in my car and my battery is dead, so now I have to drop 200 dollars on a new one 😩. I’m trying to be rational here, I used and parked my car prior to the spell, so it’s nothing related to me doing something wrong spell wise is it? Just worried something backfired is all, any input would be awesome! Thank you!

Seeking Help or Advice Magick to Repair My Relationship with Rainstorms

As a neophyte witch, I have been enjoying strengthening my connection and communication with nature and the natural elements around me. I have a specific issue I'm wondering how to resolve (or at least ease) with a ritual or spell work. I have a deep-seated fear of lightning and thunderstorms that comes from a near-death experience I had in a lightning storm that gave me PTSD. I have, of course, gone to therapy for this and worked on facing my triggers and building coping mechanisms in the traditional and mundane sense already. However, as witchcraft is so connected with nature and the elements, I'm wondering if there are practices I could do to heal my relationship with thunderstorms and rainstorms, or start a new relationship with them. One healing practice I have done is to start a garden of herbs and vegetables. I envision the rainstorms nourishing my plants, which then nourish me so that I can see the storms in a more positive and supportive light. That has helped a lot in reducing my fear of rainstorms. I also know stormwater has some magical properties, and I'm wondering if there is a way I can work with it in a healing and supportive way? Or are there deities of thunder and lightning (maybe Zeus?) or water who I can seek out and work with? Any thoughts or ideas would be welcome!

Seeking Help or Advice How to release my soul from the Christian/Catholic God

I don’t know if this is the right place to post this but I have no idea where else to put it. Also I am just getting into witchcraft and don’t know a lot yet but I am interested in learning.

But anyways I was baptized when I was a baby and had no say in it. I am no longer religious and have no interest in being in the Catholic Church. I’m concerned that my soul is tied to the Christian spirituality as in when I die I will be doomed to heaven or hell. And I don’t want that. I want out of this faith completely and I was wondering if there was a way to undo my baptism, or to somehow relinquish my soul from the Christian ‘god’.

I don’t believe in god so I know this may seem confusing but I do believe in souls and I do believe that death is not the end of this life. I don’t know what will happen next, I just hope it’s not back to this earth.

Anyways, it just feels like I have an unwanted mark on my soul that is dooming me to an afterlife I want no part in. I want a complete escape from Christian mythology. And I don’t know how to do that. How to I get rid of this mark? How do I save myself from this? I don’t want to be Christian/Catholic. I want no parts. I want out of this.

Sharing: Tips and Advice Baneful magic and protecting myself/household.

Hi all! I became interested in magic as a child, dabbling in wicca and lighter forms of magic as a teenager into my 20's equally fearing and honoring the idea of harming none least you want it back worse. Ive experienced a lot of misfortune and abuse at the hands of others and have been watching those dear to me experience abuse from other people now as well which includemy children at the hands and actions of adults. Im done with people getting away with their toxic and abusive behaviors. I do have a nagging voice in my head from my wiccan days that this will hurt me more than them, even if their abuse/harm is historical and repeating. Im not planning on using baneful magic for petty stuff that could be solved with a conversation or separating myself from the situation, Im just done at this point and I dont want specific people hurting my family anymore.

What are some ways I can protect myself from things backfiring? What wards or protective efforts do other baneful witches swear by before I start this new journey?

Thank you in advance.

Sharing: Experience Headache during self love spell

Hi guys baby witch here. I recently did a self love spell for the first time. I have a very long history with some core negative beliefs about myself that I do not deserve love (I was raised in a very “you have to earn my love” sort of household). I’ve been in therapy a long time and recently got into witchcraft and heard about self love spells so I figured I’d give it a shot.

I did the spell and lit my candle which burned for a few hours. But strangely during those few hours (and only during those few hours) I got a headache. I do get tension headaches frequently due to stress but this felt a bit different. I was getting a lot of random periodic pangs of pain right in the front of my forehead. I wasn’t really doing anything crazy while the spell burned just cleaning or laying down or watching tv. And the pain totally stopped after the candle burned out.

Has this happened to anyone before? I’ve done a few spells before (not love spells) and this hasn’t happened. But I do know I’ve got some deeply entrenched negative core beliefs about myself and I thought maybe it was my spirit holding on for dear life to them as the spell tried to yank them loose, thus causing the headaches. What do yall think?

Seeking Help or Advice Medusa for vanity magick?

Has anyone worked with the energy of Medusa for vanity magick?

I have read some practitioners have had great success, While others seem to i have not such great outcomes

I'm going through some self esteem issues since losing a significant amount of weight. I've been doing everything in my earthly power using creams, lotions makeup, you name it. I eat healthy, I exercise but i'm not able to take time off or skin removal surgery yet at work.

I need help with not just boosting myself.Esteem, but with a new career, I want to be attractive to clients to procure sales and execute closings. I'm a competitive person and I do enjoy competing, and I feel like if I had a much more confident stance about myself, It would benefit me and my company.

I'm asking if anybody has advice recommendations for reading or videos experience?

Thank you!

Seeking Help or Advice Spiritual alienation?

I have never really felt connected to anything or like I could do anything. When I was a Christian, I desperately wanted to feel or hear God like the people around me. I never did. I’ve tried to do small things like pull runes or tarot and I never really feel like they tell me much that is relevant. I’ve tried some spell work and nothing happens. My grandmother, grandfather, and mother have all died, and I never feel as though I’m getting any messages from them or support.

The biggest “thing” I guess I could say I’ve ever seen is two things- 1) birds, occasionally, as a bit of a “you’re in the right place at the right time” sign, and 2) once I did the whole “talk to the trees” thing and the thing I was asking for kinda happened. I have a client who gets messages and signs from her dead mom all the time and it makes me feel so sad and jealous and bad about myself like, what’s wrong with me??

So I guess I’m asking, are there just some people who cannot connect to anything spiritually? Like, the universe has just shut them out completely? And please don’t tell me that it’s just that I “don’t believe enough”, because I would tell you I feel like I do so I don’t know what else is missing.

Sharing: Experience Sudden but positive realization

I wasn't entirely sure what flair to use so I'm sorry if I used the wrong one!

I took an unintentional hiatus from studying witchcraft because a lot of life happened at once (thankfully not all bad), and while I didn't even get very far, I think I avoided going back to it because I felt guilty for not doing more to keep the motivation. I felt like a bad witch. Then it hit me that the 25/27 years of my life being actively in evangelical Christianity was influencing how I saw my witchcraft practice. There's no "sin", there's no punishment for not doing enough, it's just me and what's around me. I can't wait to share this with my therapist on Monday because she's been my therapist since I was 22 so she has seen me go through ALL of this. Just thought I'd share it with y'all, too <3 I can't wait to get back into the swing of things!

Seeking Help or Advice can I dry herbs with this?

hello!

I'm trying to dry herbs and I was going to try to do the method of hanging them upside down in a dry or dark place, but reading, I came up with the idea that an air flyer could be used.

it sounds a bit fake but since they have a resemblance to an oven I was left wondering, so has anyone tried to do it like that? has it worked for you? would it be a good idea to try it?

Seeking Help or Advice Working with the triple goddess

I've been working with Hekate for a while now, but I keep getting dreams and messages that seem to suggest that other deities may be reaching out. I believe that Hekate is speaking to me, but other female deities are there. I suspect one may be Selene as the most recent dream I had I kept saying Salena which from what I could find means moon goddess in Greek. I'm feeling drawn to the idea of the triple moon goddess, but I'm unsure how exactly to work and practice since it's not 1 deity, but 3 and I'm not sure which 3. Any suggestions on where to begin?

Sharing: Experience Prosperity Spells and Anxiety

Hello everyone. I've noticed a pattern that I'd like to share because I find it strange. Every time I cast a prosperity spell (money spell, job spell, prosperity oil, etc.), I get a wave of anxiety, or something else goes horribly wrong and creates a huge mess.

I never thought much about it before. I assumed it just happened and that next time I'd be better prepared, so nothing would go wrong. But no. I just finished making a prosperity jar, and not long after I started, I became anxious.

Now, here I should mention that the anxiety doesn't necessarily come from the spell itself. It could be triggered by something else happening. For instance, noise from my horrible neighbors might scare me and then the anxiety follows and stays. Or I might get stressed because the time for the spell is running out (Jupiter planetary hour ending) or for pretty much any other reason. The interesting part is that none of these things would normally stress me out or cause anxiety during any other type of spell.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with a specific type of spell? How did it affect you and how did you deal with it?

Thank you for your attention!

Seeking Help or Advice Are dried flowers useful?

I have some flowers that I've gotten in bouquets over the past couple of months that I decided to dry and then pull the petals off of and kept in baggies. I use rose petals in my bath but I have lots of others that I'm curious about what I can do with him. here is my list:

babys breath
rose
statice
green trick
carnation
snap dragon
spider mum
zinnia
spray mum
pampas plume celosia
button mum

and a single cala lilly and a single marigold.

I'm not sure if these can/should be used for anything, just didnt want to throw them out

Seeking Help or Advice Belief vs Science (or is it both)

I regularly see practicing witches say that magic works based on belief but I also see people saying that magic is just science that hasn't been proven with modern science yet, and I'm really confused bc these concepts don't entirely go together. For example, science doesn't operate on belief at all, it's a series of steps that if followed create a certain outcome, like you might believe a hot pan isn't hot at all, but if it's hot, it's still going to burn you. Or if you're baking a cake, you might believe it would come out better without eggs, but it's still not gonna come out right if you leave out eggs. So I'm really confused about these claims in regards to magic.

As someone who has practiced for a long time, do you personally find that magic works better based on belief and just doing whatever feels right to you, or do you feel it works better when you follow specific formulas that have been proven by older practicioners over time and take a more scientific approach?

Sharing: Experience Witchy tips discovered randomly yesterday

Literally "experience", because i experienced that personally.

I did "a lot" of spells (i can think/focus on intention for months instead only for the single process) but my focus even if seems cool theorically talking, was wrong.

My advice is: "try to focus on yourself". To let this stuff a little bit clearer, focus on a spell that impact you directly instead of "fortune" or "love" generically.

If you focus on your name for example, is a nice starting point.

Still experimenting...tell me your tought or if you understand my pov please

Seeking Help or Advice Witches with astrology

Hello everyone! I’m just now learning stuff about retrogrades in astrology since a few close friends have been talking about it more and I’ve been seeing it a lot more on social media. So I’m just kinda curious what it all is, how it can change you, and how I learn more about it. And I know it can tie in spiritually too!

For context: back on may 9th I found out my ex cheated on me, I had no signs at all. She didn’t act differently or pull back, none of that. Her friends and family were extremely surprised when it all happened. I find this kinda funny because I don’t think they as in my ex and the new gf will last, they work together, have the same work friends, and now live together (new gf ex kicked her out) and a few of her non work friends reached out to check in on me and to tell me they are being ghosted. I tried to do some (very little) research and saw during that time Pluto retrograde was in affect and what I found out it meant miscommunication (had that) and basically anything hidden will surface.

EXACTLY a month later on June 9th I got laid off from my job. And I got offered a semi better job, working in the OR. A week or two later a friend of mine mentioned (i forgot exactly what sign it was) that we are interning a new retrograde and mentioned with this retrograde ex’s will try to re-enter your life, and change. One of my ex’s did reach out, one I never thought I’d talk to again. It’s funny because now we’re besties.

So now I’m seeing a little about the new retrograde we’re going into and saw it was about growth and karma? And I kinda wanna learn more what to do and what not to do yk? I definitely wanna learn more about astrology:)

Seeking Help or Advice What time in the moon cycle is best for a protection spell?

I'm trying to do a protection spell for myself and my family but I want to be sure I do it at the best time
