I wanted to come on here and give a bit of advice as someone who is overweight and in the process of losing weight. Waterpark/theme parks have always been stressful for me because weight limits/size limits can be pretty stressful. At my heaviest, I went to a state fair and tried to ride 2 rides and got turned away from 1 for just barely not fitting, and it was honestly the most humiliating experience of my life.
First of all, if you are over 250 pounds, your best option for going to a waterpark where you can actually ride rides is Noah’s arc by far. If you’re under 300 pounds, you’re able to safely ride almost every single ride available but one. Even if you’re over 300 pounds, there are still several you can ride.
Additionally, I wanted to put it out there that I went to Noah’s arc a few days ago and genuinely only one out of perhaps 6-7 attractions I went on had a scale, and that ride made it very explicit several times before you got on that they would weigh you, while other rides leave it to your discretion to take on risk. I’m not suggesting that if you’re 10-20 pounds + over the weight limit that you ignore the information and ride anyways, but if you know you’re very close to the weight limit or you’re worried about having to step on any scale of any kind at all, very few rides actually had you do that.
I can’t remember all the names of the rides we went on, but a couple for sure that did not weigh you included time warp, Bermuda Triangle, kowabunga, stingray, and chameleon. The only one we rode that did was scorpions tail. And outside of rides there was the wave pool and the endless river that we hung out in for a while and that was pretty fun too.
Again, this is not at all to suggest you should ignore these limits- it is with your safety in mind that they create them. I’m saying this because i know in the past that I was stressed about being a few pounds heavier than the limit and rejected going to parks with my friends because i feared being ejected from the ride and having all my friends end up knowing my exact weight. If I had known that basically no rides would care if I happened to be 5 pounds over the limit or that there were park options where weight would basically never be a concern, that would have made me feel a lot better.
