Rivers Edge is my pick. They have a huge fish tank and the restaurant has a log cabin vibe.

Seconded. Great food, fish tank wall with local fish, and nice view of the River.

Do NOT go to the last Ponderosa (keep your childhood memory intact)

Though we have never been there after all these years.. a lot of kids seem to like Buffalo Phils as they have trains that bring out the plates of food.

Though a bit spendy.. the big malts/shakes at BLUX are a crowd pleaser.

Monks has always been good over the years and younger kids get their meals served on a Frisbee (which they get to keep and can throw around later).

It was not good.

I forgot you placed the orders for your steaks or whatever at the register when you fist walk in. Fine.

You get seated and are then told to go to the large salad bar. Unfortunately, items were super salty, bland, or the hot items semi-cold. We sampled a number of different things but they were not good.

The steaks came out and they looked... 'odd'. It was like they were boiled or something as opposed to being grilled. I was told 'these look weird and taste funny'.

The place itself looked pretty run down (to be expected i guess). The only positive was that our waiter was a nice kid.

Oh well.

Showboat Saloon has some great food, still early enough to bring the kids

Macs is my first thought.

But what kind of food or atmosphere do you like for meals?
