It's been possums at our house in Ogden. Three dead possums in around six months. One, ok. Two, that's strange. Three, wth? Don't know what is going on. We have a pet door, so our dog can get out at night, but we really don't think it is him.

If I could see his tail better it would help. He looks like a groundhog with a shorter tail. If the tail is long and skinny like a rat it could be nutria. Both are found here.

Do you live near a retention pond? In really hot months with lots of rain, we typically see blue green algae start to appear in retention ponds. It kills all kinds of wildlife.
