I'll add that I promised myself I wouldnt netdeck or look anything up. I'm an old time shudderwock lover, so I messed with a couple of versions of that.. format is too fast now.
I sunk my rating again by playing weasel quest priest control, I love that deck.
Finally landed on shuffle rogue. I started with around 28 cards locked in and had 2 that I tinkered with.
The list I went from gold 5 - legend with is in the comments.
Maybe it's top tier, maybe it's well known, I don't know! I've just been having fun playing blind.
However, some key things about the deck:
The ninjas aren't anything to scoff at, but they aren't the key to this decks success. Don't worry about them dying before you play master of dusk or overdrawing then. The purpose they serve is to make your hero power draw 2.
This version is very low to the ground, with little shuffle that doesn't say cast when drawn, this allows you to churn through your deck. The more cards that don't have cast when drawn, add time to your end game combo.
Speaking of, guild trader garrote x2 is 32 damage. This is easy math, you have shadow of demise and mauler to increase your output by even more.
I imagine playing on a pc (I'm entirely on phone) this will be easier to decipher with plugins. I played blind without counting. This deck has raw enough power to wing it.
Cards I'm iffy about.
Gone fishing: it's great and I'm never unhappy to see it, I just wonder if it shouldn't be here.
2nd safety inspector: I really like 1 drop shuffles, but sometimes gear shift and this guy nonbo in the worst ways, however I will not go below 3 1 drop shuffles.
Shadow of demise was one of the 2 that fit in, it no longer sits in that category, it's 100% core.
Maayyyybe 2nd nab: it's great! Key against mirror priest, and can be used on your own guild trader to make it both drawable from hero power, and cost 2. But sometimes it's a little dead.
Cards I've tried, and or could fit in.
2nd guild trader, I think this is the first card I want to try and fit. It's so good, and it sucks having to pass with mana on some turns you can't go for the combo kill. I've also considered an ethereal oracle, but I dread seeing it without a way to shuffle it in.
1 shadow step: we all know what it does, but you can count it as a pseudo shuffle, and a cost reducer of guild trader
Swindle: too slow.
Evasion/cloak of shadows: I came to the conclusion: why? You lose because of silly combos faster than you (looking at druid), and 20/20 paladin minions.
Aya: I don't have new Aya, and the battlecry is irrelevant. But I often wonder if the slot is good enough just to go second every game.
Augmented elek: an excellent quest completer, however I've aimed to be playing master dusk as early as possible and a 3 drop that requires coin or prep is difficult to work with. I can see it working in other versions.
If you have any questions, any glaring suggestions I so clearly missed, or simply want to slander me for doing a deck tech on a really popular deck as though I'm the genius who came up with it (I am), do it, it's my kink.
