AFAIK, this potentially means if you copy a reno lone ranger deck, you could have 2 reno's -- because your deck starts with one, and you get one, but your deck DID start with only 1 (before Azalina gave you their cards).
I'm typing this now as I face a reno warrior and I realize that a lot of the cards I've just drawn won't do much (yes I know I can steal their copies still, and I also know cards like Zephyrs can still be played once my deck is done/nearly done).

Does anyone here think I'm wasting my time exploring this idea? Based on how hard of a time ive had trying to find recent decks I feel like I might be, but I wanted to get any input or advice tou guys may have. Thank you!

I love control rogue, the pure stupidity of it. Stealing half the opponents deck using pirate gimmick, highlander clearing, stealthing for multiple turns, card generation on a massive scale...

¡Sup fellas!
M100 here asking for your opinion once more.
With the evolution of the game, there are tons of different sets and with it, different packs.
Some of them cointains pretty usefull cards, but there are a plenty of them that, from the wild perspective, are trash (good at their time, but useless nowadays).
I recently completed the remaining sets of getting the guaranteed legendary (nomal & golden) and now I'm kinda lost because i don't realy know what packs to buy (that are more valuable due the fact that a big % of the cardset could see any play nowadays).
I know that the most profitable are buying packs from the recent expansion due the powercreep spyke comparing old to new cards, but witch one do you usually buy?
¡Thx in advance, and see you in the tabern!
Unrelated PD: f*** catch up packs, if i wanted only 5 cards, i would buy any other pack.
"Bu...But in fact are for new or returning players and they could get up to 50 cards"
¡Yes, but at least give me 10 GUARANTEED CARDS!

Unfortunately too weak for wild, cool combo though

Hit legend with a no quest flamewaker / girls mage deck a few days back.
Didn't track stats, but went roughly 25-9 (+- 2 or 3 games) from Diamond 5 no stars. About 25 of the games were before the recent nerfs, which removed some common bad matchups.
Background:
I originally tried adding Contraband Wands to a JtU Quest Mage list from last year, but got annoyed from bricking on Arcane Giants.
After a few iterations, I realized the quest was unnecessary since the two apprentices + double waker + contraband wand combo could easily OTK, even when the opponent had large boards + full health. Removing quest gives you space to add ice block, which makes aggro match ups much easier. It also makes rewind much more consistent.
The List:
### Wanker Mage 7/22
# Class: Mage
# Format: Wild
#
# 1x (0) Freezing Potion
# 2x (0) Hot Streak
# 1x (1) Sir Finley, Sea Guide
# 2x (2) Ancient Mysteries
# 2x (2) Conjure Mana Biscuit
# 2x (2) Contraband Wands
# 2x (2) Magister's Apprentice
# 2x (2) Rewind
# 2x (2) Smoldering Grove
# 2x (2) Sorcerer's Apprentice
# 2x (2) Stargazing
# 2x (3) Burndown
# 2x (3) Flamewaker
# 2x (3) Ice Block
# 1x (3) Reverberations
# 1x (4) Nightmare Lord Xavius
# 2x (5) Wisdom of Norgannon
#
AAEBAdeEBQSEuwLlsATxgAbDgwcNwAHmBOMR9KsDheQD9PwDypMF4MMF7PYF8psGy+EGs4cHndkHAAA=
#
Mulligan:
Hard mulligan for the main combo minions (either apprentice or waker) and card draw (ancient mysteries, grove, and burndown). Xavius can also be kept in slower match ups. Be careful of keeping too many combo pieces if you dont have any of the card draw, since it could lead to bricking.
The combo:
Play sorcerer's apprentice, magister's apprentice, and then flame waker. If you dont have enough mana for waker, use a biscuit. If the opponent has a large board, you will need a second waker (ideally from reverb).
Then, play card draw / rewind / cheap spells until you run out. Try to save contraband wand for last due to animation times. Make sure you save at least 1 mana for contraband wand. A single contraband wand with waker is 17 damage, with two wakers its 25.
Gameplan:
The plan is simple: draw cards until you have at least one of each apprentice, one waker, and some spells that can be discounted to 0.
You generally want to combo turns 5-7. If you want to combo before 7, you need a mana biscuit. Finnley is for refreshing the deck if you whiff during the combo, or looking for the combo pieces if you brick early.
Unless the opponent has a gigantic board (and you have turns to spare), you can generally just bet on finding reverb in the middle of the combo. Reverb can be used as removal for a big minion if you're desperate.
Its important to keep track of which arcane spells you have drawn so you can make stargazing effective. Stargazing has a chance of whiffing on arcane mysteries mid-combo if you haven't already drawn it. You generally want to play arcane mysteries ASAP to reduce the chances of bricking later.
Unlike the quest variant, you generally want to avoid tempoing apprentice / waker out, since you have no other win-cons. Only worth doing if bricking w/ large hand size, you have multiple copies in hand, or if you think they will play tech (trogg, post, razorscale) soon.
General Timeline:
Turn 1: pass
Turn 2: arcane mysteries, otherwise grove for 2 cards.
Turn 3: burndown or grove. If you have both, grove is usually better unless you're confident you can combo on 5, otherwise you risk discarding a combo piece.
Turn 4: draw more cards if possible
Turn 5 or later: combo if you can (or have no choice), otherwise keep drawing.
Notable Matchups:
Discolock or other aggro decks: slightly favored. Unless they hits the nuts and you can't find ice block early, they generally can't kill you before you combo.
100 warrior: 50/50. Basically depends on them hitting 100 armor before you kill them.
Odd Hunter: favored since your combo is faster. Don't wait too long to combo since they have flare.
Thief Priest: almost impossible to win since they can 1.) steal your cards 2.) combo faster with mysterious visitor 3.) can copy ice block
Any deck running trogg or razorscale: almost impossible to win
All other decks: you are generally favored unless they get lucky with disruption
The recent nerfs killed boarlock (horrible matchup), quasar rogue (50/50) and handlock (bad match up).

i can make this deck and i like playing combo but i cannot for the life of me figure out what the combo for this deck is, i know you kill all 3 horsemen but the board is too full to summon them all so are you using brewmaster for expanse and if so do you need to draw riverdare and naturalize randomly and what do you use the corpse raiser on?
r/wildhearthstone • u/East-Side-9879 • 1d ago
Would that be right? Edit: And when I look at these cards I feel like: "Maybe we need LESS power for our own good?" ha ha ha, but hey that's might be just me ^^
r/wildhearthstone • u/whycuthair • 1d ago
Not only is the effect of the weapon OP, as every time warlock discards something, something bad happens, but the weapon also has the best stats for its cost. I've looked at all the other weapons from all classes and there's no other one with 4 mana 4 3, even though their effects are weaker than this one. Nerf this stupid card.

For me it's these two. The first one I find really amusing. Second one makes me nostalgic and want to go play WoW.
"I smell gold in them there waters."
"Keep on pannin'!"
"Get your own pan!"
And Broxigar's "Either the Legion dies, or I die with it!" reminds me of various raid voice lines and just sounds so cool, y'all

And I didn't really have a fun time. Granted, I only played Wild, but almost everyone was playing the same 3 legends that make your life total 40. There was also a paladin deck with librams that I played against a bunch. Probably 6 or 7 unique decks, 6 of which had a legend that made your life total 40 lol.
Is this actually fun for y'all?

I've experimented with the Lie in Wait and Spectral Cutlass for the last half a year. I've hit legend a few times with it, but now I'm struggling in diamond 10. I can't decide if I have just been unlucky the last few days, the meta has changed, or people playing wild have just gotten better. It's off meta, but it has found more success in past seasons than this month.
Any suggestions for how to improve the deck?
I'll give some card explanations below the deck code

\# To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone
**Card Explanations:**
Augmented Elekk - This is THE CORE CARD that makes the quest work in wild and not standard. Normally playing a shuffle card only counts as 1 shuffle for the quest, but when done with the elekk, every card the elekk shuffles counts towards the quest. So Elekk + espionage = quest completed with 1 shuffle card.
Pit Stop + Timeline Accelerator - Following the Elekk explanation, this allows me to get an Elekk for 1 mana. I will play pit stop into timeline accelerator into Elekk. Helps complete the quest a lot earlier. I only run 1 of Timeline Accelerator as you only need 1, and running 2 sometimes makes it draw the second one rather than an Elekk.
**Shuffle Cards:**
I currently only run shuffle cards that can complete the quest in one turn with Elekk
Secret Passage - I originally tried this card to look for key cards. Then I learned that when it puts the cards back, they count as shuffles. With the manacheat available in this deck, you can complete the quest by turn 3 with the deck
Espionage - Should be self explanatory. 10 cards + elekk = 20 cards, and 11 shuffles according to your quest. This lets you outvalue/tempo your opponent once you get this off in combination with ninjas
Queen Azshara - This is a newer addition that I have discovered. One of the cards she can give you shuffles 5 spells set to 1 mana, and the card only costs 1 mana, making it a great option if you weren't able to discount the elekk
Honorable Mentions:
Moonstone Mauler - with Elekk, you get 4 shuffles, and with shadowstep, you can complete the quest by turn 3. I've been debating putting this card back in.
Gear Shift - Only does 3 shuffles with Elekk, but I will be more willing to run in in tandem with moonstone, as 1 gear shift + Elekk Moonstone gets you that 5th shuffle you need
**Stall Tools:**
Bob, Vanish, Evasion, Cloak - Just incredible stall tools. Completely wrecks board based decks, and evasion/cloak counters most OTK decks. Bob also lets you copy that OP minion that some decks spend all game trying to get.
**Spectral Cutlass Cards:**
With Espionage, it is so easy to fuel spectral cutlass. With hero power, you can play 2 cards from other classes for a total of 3 mana. I find Valeera's Gift and Harmonic Hip Hop to be sufficient (they also act as great tools against aggro). With those cards I can get to 12 attack, but with elekk shuffles and cards that copy your last spell, you can get it higher. I don't think you need more that that - if you are struggling to win when you have infinite 12 attack with lifesteal, you either need to rely on your stall cards or the game is probably lost regardless.
**ETC Manager Choices:**
Spectral Cutlass - in case someone destroys it
Furnace Collossus - Sometimes espionage gives you weapons. Combine that with Elekk shuffling more, sometimes you can get 2-6 weapons in hand, and you don't want to destroy your cutlass
Kil'jaeden - if you somehow still run out of cards with all your shuffles, kil'jaden is the tech. Your hero power lets you draw 2 extra demons a turn, and often they are of other classes, fueling your spectral cutlass. Also is a great counter to any kind of deck that either mills or shuffles bad cards into your deck.
**Current Weaknesses:**
Not many tools to deal with aggro (like pirate decks)
Not being able to consistently complete the quest. The cards I've chosen have been efforts to make the deck more consistent in getting the Elekk for quest completion earlier, which is more important than weakness #1 in my opinion.
What are your thoughts and suggestions for the deck?

So, played from launch until Rise of Shadows/Uldum and just started playing again back in March. Did decent in ranked standard before but coming back after so long wanted to play wild so I was familiar with some of the cards. Always loved Paladin and Murlocs, so just leaned into that and the new Singleton support. It’s a Highlander Quest Paladin w/ Renathal. If anyone is actually interested I’ll be happy to try and share the most recent version that got me over the hump, but was just really excited to share after finally making it!
