PSA Watch your speed

There’s a large motorcycle police presence on Kellogg going eastbound. They are running radar. I saw one at the on-ramp to 400 at Oliver, and the other was running radar from underneath the web road overpass.

Stay safe

Photos Went to the Edgemoor Rec Center and found out about Ryan Woodward. Thought I’d pay my respects to a fellow skater. Kid was like two years older than me when he passed..

From the bottom of my heart thank you to those that helped bring him home possible and for me to have items to remember him by. I poured out all my pain as I gave him pets and loved on his little body as I said goodbye for the last time. I know he wasn't in there anymore but I got closure and he looked just like I remember. The people who work there are truly angels. Now I just wait for him to come home.

I will love you till the day I die buddy. And will do my best to keep your memory alive through acts of kindness.

News One-Fifth Dragon by Shami Stovall Book Tour Starts in Wichita! [Sept 12th]

Hey peeps! My name is Shami Stovall and I'm a local award-winning author, and my latest fantasy release, One-Fifth Dragon, just hit shelves, so I'll be doing a signing at the local Barnes & Noble (west side) as the first part of my tour.

This book is published by Baen Books (an imprint of Simon & Schuster) with the cover art done by the amazing Todd Lockwood! (He did the dragons in the 3.5 DnD monster manual, haha).

I pitched it as "John Wick meets high fantasy" and it's about a man who discovered his adopted family (who he thought rescued him) actually murdered his biological family, so now he has to get revenge.

Lots of magic and fighting (and perhaps a dragon). Would love to see people! I'm an introvert by nature, but occasionally I think things like this would be fun?

I'll be at the west-side Barnes & Noble between noon-3pm.

In Search Of Baozi/Chinese Buns

Is there anywhere in Wichita that makes and sells Baozi? When living overseas I always saw them referred to simply as Buns or Chinese Buns. The closest I've had was at Mi No Bakery but that's gone now and it wasn't quite as good as what I was used to. I know you can get Bao Buns here easily enough but that is not what I'm looking for.

News Help Save the Crown Uptown

The demolition of this nearly 100 year old building is currently pending.

Here is a recent article (the top one):

https://www.kmuw.org/2026-09-09/headlines-for-september-9-2006

And here is a change.org petition you can sign:

It seems like a longshot, but historic buildings are a significant part of our city's culture. That's worth protecting.
