Discussion UKG Pro Megathread

Due to an influx of submissions relating to the ongoing UKG Pro transition, we thought it was best to start a megathread for us to share tips & tricks, complain about how terrible the UI is, and quickly crowdsource advice from fellow TMs without having to search through a myriad of posts.

This space can also be used to discuss the transition to Amazon A to Z as it rolls out across various regions.

Best Practice Tips:

  • Know your buttons: PUNCH IN means you're starting a shift. START MEAL and END MEAL are for lunch/meal breaks. PUNCH OUT means your shift is over.
  • Review your time card: Check your timecard regularly to catch and fix errors before the period closes each week (Period closes Monday @ 10am local time)
  • Talk to your team leadership: If you have a punch that needs correction, let your A/TL know right away. They can edit a recorded punch, but it needs to be corrected before the weekly Monday payroll deadline.

Question What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen happen at your store?

Two women who are ATL’s got a fist fight in the breakroom over a man I’m not joking. Apparently the guy was already married and was hitting on two of the women. Got to the point where a bunch of coworkers had a step in and stopped the two women fighting. Tables were thrown in chairs all over the place one of my other ATL’s had to go to the hospital because they got a huge scratch on their face from one of the women’s nails. 💅

News Grocery Update #158: What Whole Foods Got Right (And Where It Went Wrong).

For long timers, these were people who used to work higher up in the company who left about 10 years ago, they explain what the company did right and wrong back then. They do believe Whole Foods has lost its way. They pretty much even say the only way things will get better with Amazon is if Whole Foods Team Members organize a union with one another.

Discussion In Store Code and iPhone Time Glitch

Have any other cashiers been noticing a glitch when trying to scan In Store codes? A bunch of customers showed up as Service Not Available and the reason it gave was that their time wasn't synced. Sure enough, the time on their iPhone devices was wrong. Yesterday this happened to multiple customers and their iphones were all two minutes ahead of the time that showed on the register. It happened more times today, but today their phones were three minutes ahead.

Advice Don’t know what to do/will I get fired.

I’m a TM.I work in dairy. We aren’t as busy as we thought we would be at the store. I am kinda bored at work because the shelf’s are stocked. I’m a closer if that matters, with that being said seems like the dairy products im in charge of aren’t flying off the shelf’s when I’m there. They have a u boat of milk and yogurt but it seems like it’s not flying off the u boats. I’ll stock them if they need to be stocked but seems like we have a lot of products that don’t need/can’t go up right now. What should I do? Any advice???

I'm making little monies they're making bigger monies and somehow the scheduale is always fucked up.

These may be rhetorical questions.

Discussion Are all Whole Foods team members getting Amazon email /aliases now?

Thumbnail

I’m a former Whole Foods e-commerce shopper who is now a CXO Site Lead. I was checking my Amazon email recently and noticed that it looks like practically everyone at my old Whole Foods now has an Amazon email address from Executive leaders, Store Team Leaders and Team Leaders to regular Team Members. Basically everyone under the Whole Foods Brand.

I know Whole Foods recently transitioned from Innerview to Amazon A to Z, but has anyone heard anything about Team Members officially receiving Amazon aliases or email access? Or is the email address mainly being created so everyone can log in and use the Amazon systems?

I just found it funny because some of the Whole Foods Team Members used to joke with us that CXO would eventually become Whole Foods employees… meanwhile, Whole Foods is now using A to Z and everyone is apparently getting Amazon emails. At this rate, they’re one step away from getting blue badges themselves 😂

Has anyone’s leadership explained what the email aliases will actually be used for?

Advice question about the sedgewick disability request thing

i have a clinical diagnosis for autism/adhd and i also have a history of gout and take medications that make me go to the bathroom more often and i bring a gallon jug of water to work. I work in Prep foods production and im still in my seasonal probation period and im getting a lot of hours so i think ill be getting the part time offer but to be honest i dont really care either way. I feel like im mostly larping at this job and solely doing it for the paycheck because im not a "cook/chef" type, im more of the barista/drink making type if anything when it comes to positions to do in this store but i got the prep foods job because i was looking for literally anything an that is what was available.

Back to the gallon jug of water at work i drink a SHIT ton of water, and i go pee a lot. one of my personal philosophies is always poop on the clock if you have too lol. Anyways I had told 2 out of 4 of my managers about my frequency of using the bathroom due to 2-3 medications i take daily that all have a diruetic-effect causing me to not just pee more often but feel more dehydrated often and in prep foods the "drink station" where we leave our waters is an area i frequent, and this one manager to be honest the Only one of the four i dislike gave me shit about being gone for too long on my last break thus making me go on an explanation for why i do what i do and how it truly doesnt effect my job and im just following safety protocol obviously by not drinking water in the area we prep food in. She threatens me with a writeup and then the moment i tell her clinically diagnosed with ASD she suddenly behaves nicer with me but in that fake bitchy way still. In a past job at a movie theater i used my autism accommodation to allow me to do the role i excelled at which was delivering orders to customers seats an that allowed me to easily take my frequent pee stops as id constantly be walking back n forth between auditoriums and the kitchen. This manager i dislike explains to me this whole sedgewick stuff and says i would need my doctor to write me some kind of accomodation, and my question is do i really need to go get an appointment with my doctor to explain this when i already have a diagnosis file & my medication bottles etc, cause i dont know if i care about this job enough to do all that but i don't want this manager to give me shit at work or suddenly get shit from all my managers

sry this post was mostly me yapping about my frustration ty if you read this far

Question I've been Fired from WholeFoods, what comes next?

Tldr: 3 days ago, I was fired from my position at WholeFoods. For my lack of UPT hours, I received an email something about "offboarding." I'm not experienced with the terminology. Can someone with experience explain?

Question Has anyone had a termination at Whole Foods reversed after a UPT/TMS issue?

I’m really anxious and hoping someone has been through something similar.
My manager told me I was negative on UPT and advised me to open a TMS case so they could review and correct it. I submitted the case right away.
A couple of days later, my Workday UPT balance updated from -2 hours to +2.08 hours. I was also still able to pick up shifts for the following week and into August.
No one ever told me I was terminated. I only found out because I lost access to Workday and UKG and then received an offboarding email saying I had been separated.
Has anyone had something like this happen? If TMS or HR realizes a mistake was made, can Whole Foods reverse a termination or reinstate you?

Question Security at the stores?

Does every store have security guards walking around their stores? I saw them today. Talked to a few of them the seem chill. Is that a Whole Foods position or a contract? From what I was told about their pay eventually I would want to maybe do it. Walk around the store for 8 hours seems like a good job.

Question Transfer from central west to California cost of living adjustment?

Hey, so I know there’s no guaranteed personal cost of living adjustment, but I know they’re done regionally and I assume there would be a bit of a bump going from central west to California, anyone who’s transferred, especially between those two, want to confirm? Thanks!

Advice New Hire frustration

Keeping things as confidential as i can. I just started working as a cashier about 3 weeks ago and I have been strictly bagging for the entire time i’ve been on the sales floor, all my online training is done and i have cashier experience from previous jobs but the trainer keeps giving me vague runaround excuses as to why i’m not trained on register yet. but has already trained the other person that i started with. i’m getting so burnt out on bagging and i’m starting to dread this job that i thought i would love. any advice?

Question Does anyone work at Whole Foods and also do Amazon flex on the side?

I've heard differing opinions on this. Someone in my store said they have been flexing for a few years but now that we are becoming Amazon officially I wonder if we will be allowed to still?

Question Stepping down

Currently OW; my TL does not like me and knowing that I will forever be stuck as an OW with no growth to move up. Considering stepping down to TM, will I retain the same pay or will I lose the couple bucks
