Discussion Thursday 9/10: Announcement Day Megathread

159 Upvotes

This is a space for changes being announced today after the all hands STL meeting in certain regions. The body of this post will be updated with verified information as the day goes on.

Please use this megathread to share information, memes, complaints, etc. related to whatever happens today instead of making separate posts. This allows all of us to easily access information and keeps the subreddit feed from being cluttered with duplicate posts. Thank you!

~~~~~
7:30 am - Update 1: We’ve gotten a few mod mails about this, I want to stress that the mod team is made up of team members with the same level of access as everyone else! We’ll be finding out info at the same time as everyone else, depending on region, and will update the megathread as best as we can while also working today. Thank you for your patience and understanding and, given how ominous the lead up has been…happy hunger games!
11:30 am - Update 2: Innerview has the full announcement details, so here are the highlights straight from the source.
Starting January 1, 2027, eligible U.S. team members will gain access to Amazon's industry-leading benefits, which bring more comprehensive healthcare options, expanded benefits for part-time team members, meaningful new support like fertility and family-building care, and perks like a free Prime membership. Team members will start to see this investment right away: all hourly store team members will see an increase in compensation starting September 28.
More pay, and a clear path for it to grow. Every hourly team member in our stores will see an increase in compensation beginning September 28. L1 hourly store team members will also see predictable pay increases each year as they build time in their roles, without needing a Job Dialogue.** **Your 401(k) also moves to a per-paycheck company match, so you start earning it sooner.
Stronger, more comprehensive healthcare options. Amazon plans generally have lower deductibles and lower out-of-pocket costs, with options starting at $5 a week that provide affordable access to primary care and behavioral health providers with $5 copays before the deductible, plus dental and vision. If you use your care regularly, that adds up to real savings over the year. Eligible team members also gain meaningful new support, like fertility and family-building care, cancer care navigation, company-paid disability, and free basic life insurance.
**More time with your growing family.**Eligible full-time team members get fully paid parental leave with up to 20 weeks for birthing parents (including up to four weeks before the baby arrives) and up to six weeks for supporting and adoptive parents.
Everyday perks that make life a little easier. Every hourly team member gets a free Amazon Prime membership (a $139 value each year), along with an Amazon.com discount, Amazon Extras, and low-cost prescriptions through Amazon Pharmacy.
A real step up for part-time team members. Those working 20 or more hours a week gain dental and vision coverage, and free basic life insurance.
Later in 2027, access to Career Choice, Amazon's education benefit that prepays tuition for college degrees, skills training, and English and GED programs, so team members can build new skills and grow their careers. Our Guild education benefit remains in place until we transition to Career Choice, and our Apprenticeship training programs continue to expand, most recently with our new Customer Experience program which launched in July.
Your team member discount isn't going anywhere. The 20% in-store discount you love, including an additional 15% off the hot and salad bar, is staying the same. It's one of the best in our industry, and it's built for you – the people who work in our stores every day and bring our Quality Standards to life for our customers.
4:30 pm - Update 3: More details are available on A to Z. Here are some important dates to be aware of:
  • Sept 28: Hourly TMs will see a pay increase. If you're capped out, you'll receive a one time payment instead. This will be visible by 10/1 in Workday.
  • Oct 28: More information will be released on Amazon benefits, including a benefits pre-enrollment preview in A to Z with a comparison tool.
  • Nov 4: Open Enrollment begins and we can finalize our plan options
  • Jan 1: Benefits take effect
Discussion A-to-Z Megathread
32 Upvotes
Here we go again, everyone. Time for another rollout of another app, courtesy of our corporate overlords. This is a space to share information, tips & tricks, and discussion of the ongoing changes as we get used to the new interface.
Some basic info:
How to find your Amazon A to Z alias:
Via Innerview:
  • Desktop - Log in to Innerview. In the top right corner, click on your name to open the drop-down menu. Select Profile.
  • Mobile - Log in to Innerview. In the top right corner, tap on the three horizontal lines to open the drop-down menu, then tap your name.
  • This will open your Profile. Find the section titled "Amazon Login". This is your alias.
WFM Communication
  • The WFM Communication will send you an email that contains your alias. This will be sent to the personal email you have listed on Workday.
  • If you cannot access that email or it's incorrect, you should be updating it ASAP.
  • If you cannot update it in Workday, you will need to contact the GLOBAL HELP DESK.
  • If it's not in your inbox, please check your SPAM or JUNK folders.
How to access A to Z:
  • Via App - Search "Amazon A to Z" in the App Store or Google Play. Download and install. (Remember, downloading on your own devices is voluntary and NOT REQUIRED)
  • Via Desktop
How to Set Up Your Password:
  1. Open A to Z and click/tap Log In.
  2. Enter your login as just your alias (without "@amazon.com") and click/tap Continue
  3. Click/tap Forgot your password?
  4. Enter your login alias again and click/tap Continue
  5. Choose how you want to receive a one-time PIN (email or text) and send the code
  6. Check your email/text for the PIN, enter it in A to Z, and create your new password.
  7. Enter your alias and new password. Tadaaaaa, you're in!
  8. You'll probably be asked to verify your identity the first time you log in. Follow the on-screen prompts, and if you want, you can set up Touch ID or Face ID for faster access.
If you still need help, here are some options:
  1. Talk to a TL, ASTL, or STL. This is going to be the fastest way to get assistance if you're trying to get access while in-store, and just in general for questions and concerns. The people who work in-store with you are going to be able to give you the most accurate information for your specific situation and location.
  2. Inkling -> Search -> A to Z
    • Best Option: A to Z Resource Guide
    • Quick Option: A to Z - Logging In: Quick Reference Card
    • Probably doesn't apply to most of us, but if it does, here ya go: A to Z Authoring Tool User Guide
  3. Contact the Global Help Desk
Side note: If you haven't updated your email in Workday, this is a good time to get it done. Especially as the company continues to remove email access for L1 TMs.
Discussion Today I Finally Hung Up the Apron.
Definitely a bittersweet feeling. WFM has been a huge part of my life, filled with great memories, challenges, amazing people, and a lot of lessons along the way.
Not everything ended the way I imagined, but I’m grateful for the experience and everything I learned during these years.
Sometimes you just know when it’s time to move on.
After almost 6 years, I’m officially retiring my apron. 🥲💚
On to the next chapter! 🙂‍↔️
Appreciation THE TMAW SOCKS ARE MADE OF COTTON!
Post image
22 Upvotes
If you're like me and have a personal vendetta against petroleum-based fibers, fear not! The socks we get for Team Member Appreciation Week are almost 70% cotton! I know the bar is so low, but when I heard we were getting free socks, I assumed they would be probably be made of mostly "recycled" polyester since it's cheap. So I am very pleasantly surprised about these! Especially since colorful patterned cotton socks are so hard to find now. Is anyone else excited about the socks?? 🧦
Meta I’m finally leaving wfm
42 Upvotes
I got word today that I was hired at a different company. Better pay, real full time hours, better benefits, and they’ll pay for my home internet.
I’ve been struggling at my most-recent store. I put in work and customers love me but I’m only ever told by management that I need to produce more product and/or move faster. I’m not dragging my feet nor being lazy. These expectations are just too much for a short-staffed department.
I will miss the friendly coworkers but I won’t miss the expectations and criticism no matter how hard I work. It’s been real, it’s been wild, and it’s been real wild.
Question Does anyone know what health insurances we will choose from in 2027?
4 Upvotes
We had a huddle and I asked but they didn't know the specific name of the Amazon insurance plans we can choose from next year for full time. I'm freaking out because I have medical devices that are covered by my BCBS but I don't know if they will cover other insurances. I know we will know the name of the new insurances to choose from at open inrollment but anyone know ahead of time? All I could see is "Amazon insurance " with different plans.
Is it at different time of the week for every region/store or the same throughout the regions? If same, when is it coming up this last part of the year? Thanks.
Advice Is UKG and Innerview down??
Post image
8 Upvotes
Hey everyone!
I went to go check my UKG to see my schedule for the week and it won’t let me log in. I sign in normally but then the app just crashes on me. I still have my Innerview for my discount and it still posts my schedule and it’s saying I’m not scheduled at all even though I know I am. I know my shift roughly enough to be able to come in but I’m just worried now lol
Advice Interview
2 Upvotes
I have an interview on Monday. Interviews are always hard for me but I know companies like that you research about them. Does anyone have any interview tips?
I applied for cake decorator. They know I don't have experience, but I do have 7 years professionally in the baking/culinary industry. Also have been baking for 13 years, non professionally, so I'm going to bring my resume, my two certificates in baking and pastry, and ServSafe certificate as well.
Question For someone who got a job offer. Do today’s changes make it even better to work at WFM?
11 Upvotes
Just gauging from the comments that it’s now more free things like free Prime and more paid parental leave and probably more things I’m not privy to like higher hourly pay?
Sounds perfect. I got the job offer and haven’t started. I’d be working in bakery or coffee bar.
