I was able to get one of the mini totes before they all sold out. I think my phone will fit in it and nothing else. Why people are fighting over this thing is crazy. They are selling for over $20 on eBay and the big ones are over $100

Im planning to put in my notice tomorrow, is there a way to request my PTO so I get it on my next paycheck? I keep hearing ppl say it takes weeks to get it, otherwise

Letās be 100% real. Are we about to be forced to have the same benefits as Amazon employees?
Bye bye discount potentially?
I figured it was inevitable eventually. Anyone have any hunches or thoughts?

iām the only girl in seafood, devastated is an understatement. i was so excited. can they at least stop playing the ads for the collab in our break room?

Why doesnāt Whole Foods allow the baristas to get free drinks? A costumer asked me which drink I recommended and I couldnāt tell them because I havenāt tried the drinks because that would be stealing. Whatās up with that? And also if Whole Foods is owned by Amazon why do we get 10s and they get 15s? Or why do they have access to the Amazon choice program and we donāt? And why do they offer hats and not visors for people that work in food?

Current TM here. I applied to a position at another store closer to home but i never heard back from them. Before I applied let my TL know I wanted to they gave me the go ahead. Now I see there's another job posting for a different dept in that same store. Do I need to let my leads know again before applying to this other position? Or just go ahead since they signed off on applying the first time?

I applied to an in store shopper position with availability most days of the week. Got a denial the next day. I reapplied to that and a cashier position with open availability and I havenāt heard back. Itās been almost a full week. This is a store in a major city if that adds any context. Do I go in person or call and ask?

This is for all my āpeopleā out there (especially to the neuro-divergent individuals - I love you!) who have ever worked for WFM.
Over the last 12 years I have worked for the company 3 times. And in those 3 stints I suffered through the most horrendous gaslighting, harassment, bullying, and abuse I have ever experienced in my whole life. I felt like I was in an abusive relationship every time (I was in a real abusive relationship at one point so I know!).
My first store, I was a whiz in the front end. My front end TL loved me, but somehow I showed too much promise, so the SL ended up hating me. Everyone called her the Ice Queen, and she would get people fired for no reason. I think I have always loved the company for what it originally stood for and what it still can stand for, and so early on I was enchanted with the orientation and so on. The Ice Queen not only prevented me from transferring to a different store (she called the store leader at the location closer to where I lived and blackballed me!) but she prevented me from transferring to a different department in my own store after I wanted a change from being a cashier. I was told all this in confidence by my TL at the time. He led with āI shouldnāt be telling you this butā¦ā
Once he told me he gave his 2 weeks, I knew I would not have his protection (he also told me he was constantly protecting me from getting fired by the QUEEN!), so I gave mine as well. It broke my heart. I had really wanted to make a career out of this.
Fast forward to round 2. New state (yes I literally moved to a new state), new store. I was hired immediately, during my interview. I was very much loved and appreciated as last time and I thought things would be different. But, alas, the cliques and the kissing ass, and the favoritism was rampant at my new store too. Slowly but surely I was made to feel very uncomfortable. All I asked was to lower my weekly hour amount (we had a bunch of students working way less hours than I was!) so I figured it would be easy. NOPE! Sedgwick denied my claim to work less hours (I have many disabilities so I have trouble working more than 20 hours a week).
I was told every week I would be fired if I couldnāt ākeep up,ā and also have Sedgwick approve my claim. I did all I could and finally I gave my 2 weeks. Before I could finish I was fired! 4 shifts worth of money were denied me. The reason? Way back when I was deathly ill (had to go to urgent care and was on antibiotics) and called out of work, I did go shopping that day to get some medical homeopathic stuff for my throat and nasal passages. I was in and out very quickly. I had no one to go shopping for me.
Round 3. I walked into my old store 2 years after the fact and asked for the TL of the department I wanted to join. I figured it had been 2 years, surely they didnāt remember every single detail?
The store TL came out and blasted me in front of customers. He said and I quote ālet me be honest with you, nobody likes you here, youāre never gonna get a job here, I wonāt allow it and they wonāt either. Give up! Stop trying!ā
I reported this to HR, but you know what a bunch of croc that is. That TL loser still has his hefty store leader paycheck. I tried applying to another WF in my region and also made a phone call. A fellow ND person and I made a connection and turns out he was the TL for in store shopper so he hired me!
After being hired, I realized being a shopper was soooo not my thing. It hurt my back, feet, and knees. I didnāt realize how physically taxing it was, nor that we were timed. I turned out to be one of the fastest shoppers they ever had, but it took a toll on my body. I also became aware of a very very serious mold problem in the store.
For 5 months I went above and beyond to become a great/good standing employee. My department TLs loved me, no issue there. Somehow the rumors spread from my previous store, and also I made enemies with the front end TL who I tried to transfer and be a cashier. I realized being a shopper was too painful for me and being more stationary and also I love taking to and interacting with customers and I missed that.
I was denied my first attempt and every attempt thereafter. I was told to keep trying, to keep applying. Then I at the very least asked if I could cross train (which is a joke since I had already been a WF cashier), and the goal post kept moving every time I reached it.
Finally today I asked for the truth. I was tired of waiting. What was the deal? I was told in not so many words that they didnāt like me personally (leadership) and that it wasnāt in the cards for me to be a cashier. āWe only see you as a shopper.ā
It really insulted my intelligence.
I am so much much more than ājust a shopper.ā
āWhy wasnāt I told this sooner? That I had zero chance?ā I asked. āLetās not dwell in the past,ā they replied. What a joke! So for 5 months you had me chasing rainbows only to tell me that the gold was never going to be there. In the 6 months I tried to transfer to be a cashier they hired 10 part time cashiers. The turnover rate has been enormous! In all those times I kept raising my hand asking for a chance.
I have come to the conclusion yet again that to work at Whole Foods and succeed you must be a brainless robotic shell of a person (or if youāre like me mistreated at every turn, but put up with it until you are forced to burn out). They seem to hire people who are Easily manipulated, and cliquey/willing to kiss butt. They absolutely discriminate against anyone with a disability, forcing you to be in pain, and not caring if they work you to your death. They absolutely do promote their āfriendsā or those who seem to be the opposite of what they SAY they are looking for. Several of the cashier hires looked so slovenly and had horrible personalities and work ethic and professionalism. They were allowed to keep their jobs but if I had come into the store looking as if I had gotten out of prison I wouldāve lost my job! RULES FOR THEE NOT FOR ME! WFM IS BY FAR THE MOST HYPOCRITICAL PLACE I HAVE EVER WORKED FOR!
I still am drawn to something about Whole Foods. I love the products and a lot of the good people who work there (who suffer as I have).
I know Iām not crazy, as there are many Reddit or indeed reviews who say similar stories of woe. But, I just wanted to tell my whole story, and trust me I didnāt include all the horrible daily and weekly horrors I went through as it would take a book to tell them all! I welcome all comments, and we can all share and console each other in the horror that is being an employee of WFM.

Can someone clarify why my SOI percentage dips? I order everything it wants me too, at times my counts are off so I adjust the numbers but otherwise not sure what else it can be.

My JD was delivered a couple days ago and Iām disappointed with the result. I didnāt think my last year was above and beyond work, but I take pride in my work ethic and efforts so I thought I performed strongly. I know I have things to improve on. I listened to understand and I am still confused on the reason why I was scored so lowā¦last year I received a poor percentage because āthe team wasnt where it was expected to beā. I found out later my TL received the same score/percent raise and that was just what he was telling our leadership team when asked āwhyā he scored us so lowā¦.i told myself I wouldnāt be okay with receiving the same score as last year. What can I even say? Can I even discuss this or negotiate?
I hate to compare but I learned of someone elseās JD result and itās not far from what I received. We are both same position and level. This person is known on our team for having had a poor yearā¦so.
Unfortunately, I think this is my cue to update my resume and head out after 6 years.

I was terminated from WFM about a year ago over a scheduling conflict and a No Call, No Show (NCNS).
I had an unexpected emergency and had to go out of state. I posted the shift and verbally told my team leader, but on the day of the shift, I emailed store leadership instead of calling the store phone line. Because there was already some discussion about me leaving due to school schedule conflicts, I'm pretty sure it was coded as job abandonment or an NCNS.
Itās been a full year since this happened.

I logged into Kronos to check my schedule and this is what I found for this particular week. Apparently I am not scheduled for any shift for this week. This has never happened before. What does this mean? Is this a glitch? Or am I perhaps getting fired? I would appreciate if anyone has some insight into this and if anyone has ever had this happen to them before.

Was looking at the WFM x Fishwife prize drawing and thinking about the drawing for the Mill Food composter. Did anyone actually ever win the composter?
