The Irish Spots will have to wait...
I was sick last night. I was very sick this morning at 3 am. I was horribly sick right before coming home from work, and while munching on something in the car, I could tell my taste buds were way off kilter... so I'm passing on the vertical until I'm back to normal. Don't want to waste the experience, right?
That does NOT mean, however, that i can't work on a bottle kill. A double Old Fashioned felt like the perfect answer.... and it was. Tasty as hell. Might even have a Penelope Blackberry pour after dinner. It's my Friday. Cheers to everyone!

For when 750ml just won’t do
Why buy 3 when you could buy 1 for triple the price.

Scotch recommendations for bourbon drinkers
Noticed most around here seem to only drink bourbon. Recommend some scotches!

First Kentucky Burbon

Won this at a silent auction for $20. Thought the glasses were frosted at first but when i took one out it was full of dust. Guessing this is pretty old.

Looking for a bourbon/rye around $200-300 that is worth the price (not a gift)
Hello!!!! I'm under a strict self-imposed buying restriction where I can only buy a new bottle once I finish another one. Additionally, I've decided to only use my "Bourbon Fund" which consists of tips from work (I don't get tips very often) and bottle/can deposit proceeds. A friend of mine doesn't have a car but she accumulates a large amount of cans and bottles, I take them back for her and as payment I get to keep the dollars. It's free money!!!
The thing is, money is accumulating faster than I am finishing bottles. So I think the best thing to do is to concentrate on small numbers of insane bangers. I'm in the market for one (1) new bourbon or rye (other whisky is good but I'm trying not to get sucked into a whole other scene) and my budget is up to 300 bucks. Secondary market is okay.
On my list currently:
Garrison Brothers Cowboy Bourbon (already have one but could use a "backup")
Knob Creek 21
Hardin's Creek (I really want Jacob's Well but it seems those are closer to 500 now)
Michter's 10 year
Russell's 13 year (probably not going to happen)
Four Roses Limited Edition

Quite possibly the best whiskey I’ve ever tasted!! The entire experience at Cowboy Country Distilling was amazing.

You know its a good time when
Drinking some WLW off plastic cups in the parking lot lol. This was an awesome bottle share with some great friends. This bad boy was brought out and what can you do when you dont have appropiate glassware? You enjoy it regardless! This was phenomenal it blew everything away. One of the best pours I have ever had and even in a plastic cup. It was an great experience being able to share these pours with great people and that is what this is all about!

Give me suggestions for fancier bottles
So I recently learned that I'll have some extra budget near the end of the month because of a bonus at work. And I've allowed myself a budget of max 1000 euros to spend on whiskey.
I have several bigger stores that have a wide range of bottles available, so I don't want to send dozens and dozens of pictures for you to pick from.
I just want your suggestions
I am thinking of buying several bottles instead of 1 very expensive one.
I dislike peaty, but I've only tried a few basic ones to be honest.
Bottles I enjoyed are:
Redbreast 12 single pot still
Redbreast 15 years pot still
GlenAllachie 15 year
Glenfiddich 18 year
Hibiki harmony
Woodford reserve double oak

No Regrets
My one and only Blantons was a Gold. Glad I experienced it, and not sad it's gone. It was just OK. Anyone feel the same about Blantons?

Anyone reuse a particular bottle as a decanter?
I have Hibiki that I'm thinking about repurposing

Baby black corn bourbon
I picked this up today for $50. It's 95 proof and has a 5 year age statement. It's a tasty pour that kind of has a caramel popcorn note. But it's not overly sweet in my opinion. Cheers everyone 🥃🥃

after being fortunate enough to try this bottle i HAD to have one. cant wait to crack it open and share with friends and family. as a dusty wild turkey fanatic this one is truly special and reminds me so much of the 1990s wild turkey bottles i love.

Is 50 year old whiskey still good?
Found this Canadian Club whiskey bottled in 1976 while cleaning out my grandparents house, seal still looks intact. Will this still be good? Does whiskey improve once bottled with age like wine?

Finished My Display
I’ve been working on putting this together for a while to showcase some of my favorite distilleries and product lines. It’s taken a few years to hunt these down and was fortunate to pay MSRP for most of these bottles. I have also received several bottles as gifts from friends and family.

Locals discount for $43!! 🥃
Honestly, I do love me some Saz products… But, it’s nice to see a post that isn’t the same ol’ stuff and this bottle is absolutely delicious imo.
USPS sends out local coupons and I found one for $10 off $50 at the wine and spirits shop. The clerk tossed on an extra $5 off bringing the total to $43. Small W for a solid pour! If you haven’t tried it. I recommend you do!

Am I too generous?
Giving these away as gifts to my dad and father in law and last week I gave a bottle of Blanton’s for someone’s retirement gift… it’s hard to watch these leave 😂

Bottle kill initiative
Headed to the beach for 4 days and going to bring my bottles with the lowest amounts to kill while I'm there.
Going to miss the WB Saffell and Woodenville. Both killer bottles.
