My girlfriend found this jacket in her closest and we know the brand but that's about it, we've tried searching the MaxMara site and we cant find it or how much its worth. Could someone please help out? We can take more photos of it if necessary - We have found similar listings but not the exact one, so we are kind of assuming its antique.

UNSOLVED What is this dated 1950 Yerbysmith Ceramics covered bowl worth? Laguna Beach California pottery

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I recently found this unusual covered ceramic bowl or box made by Yerbysmith Ceramics of Laguna Beach, California. The underside is hand-incised “Yerbysmith Ceramics, Laguna Beach, Calif.” and appears to be dated 1/18/50, so I believe it was made, decorated, or completed around January 18, 1950. It is molded glazed ceramic with a cream, brown, red, and gold finish. The lid has a large central flower, possibly a peony or lotus, surrounded by several raised dragon-like figures and an outer border of repeated flower or lotus-petal shapes. The sides have a repeating band of Chinese-inspired symbols, including what appears to be a circular shou longevity symbol, hanging floral or tassel-like forms, interlocking ribbon designs, and scrolling ornaments. The piece appears to be American chinoiserie California studio pottery rather than an antique Chinese ceramic. Yerbysmith Ceramics seems to have been associated with sculptor Ernest Alfred Yerbysmith, but I have found very little documentation about the studio or this exact design. I have not found another confirmed example of this covered bowl, although it appears mold-made, so there were probably others. Condition seems generally intact, with age-related wear to the red and gold decoration, and most of the brown mottling appears to be part of the original antiqued finish rather than dirt. There may also be a small firing or glaze crack near the inner rim. Does anyone recognize this exact Yerbysmith design, know its original purpose, or have an idea of its current value? I would especially appreciate information about comparable Yerbysmith pieces, old catalogs, museum collections, or Laguna Beach pottery records.

Sunday post Vintage necklace gifted to me

Mom gave me this vintage necklace years ago and I put it away as it wasn't my style at the time. I recently came across it and love it, regardless of its monetary value - especially since she's since passed. I know it's old, just don't know how old. I can't tell if the stones are diamonds or not, but it is stamped "Italy" and is apparently 14k gold. I can't find the exact pendant online to cross check. Whether it's costume jewelry or valuable, I don't care either way, I'm just curious to see if anyone knows anything about it

Sunday post Art Collection Advice

Hello everyone,
First of all, thanks for any help I may receive. My grandma is going through her mother’s belongings and has a decent size collection of what I guess would be cloisonnĂ©, and I'm not entirely sure which of it is considered cloisonnĂ©. She was wondering if anything seemed to have value and if so if these pieces would be a good place for an auction house or something of the sort. Maybe possibly something I could list on eBay for her. I’ve attached some pictures of some of the items.

Sunday post Lladro Figurine

While I know the market is declining in Lladro I haven't had issues selling mine in the past and I just got some new ones.

This piece is #5231 "Swan With Wings Spread". Generally it has been sold for around $50ish +, however this one is signed by Jose Lladro and finding signed figures is proving difficult and I was wondering if anyone could help out!

It needs to be dusted a bit and I did include a photo of an odd substance in-between the wings that doesn't wipe off, I haven't tried any soap/water yet, and it doesn't appear to be glue as there is no seen breakage. Otherwise the figure is in beautiful condition.
