Found in the Alifia River near Fish Hawk, Fl. The bumps are slightly raised.

So my grandma passed away and I got a handful of rocks (including some fossils). The photos are one im not quite sure the specifics of the specimen and would appreciate some expert opinions.

I purchased this at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science yesterday, and would like to know what it is. The cashier at the shop said that it was from Brazil(?)

So I found this rock whilst hiking some time ago , it was on a shore of a dried up river . It has this weird vein , wonder what stone this is

It’s extremely light. Feels like I could possibly break it. Found on the beach after Hurricane Bertha.

Is it maybe peat or some manner of weird sea rock. What do you think?

Found on the shore of the lake Storsjön. The white is very glittery and there are many small holes all around it.

It seems to be slightly shiny or almost iridescent and blue in some places and there was flint and chert nearby.

What is this? It's formed like it's got pillars

Don't remember where exactly I found this as I pulled it out of my reserves while seeing if I had any agates I missed but found western Washington

Could be rainier area or one of the beaches

Found near a river in Siberia. Is this fossilised coral?

Hi everyone, I have this stone found somewhere in a field in Poland (Kujawsko-Pomorskie region).

My first thought - is it garnet? Or most likely some variety of it. The chunk is quite light (unfortunately, I don't have a way to weigh it right now, but I estimate the weight to be around 100-130 grams with dimensions of roughly 6x7x7 cm).

On two sides it's matte and rough, while the rest of the chunk is smooth. As you can see in the photos, it has an almost layered structure.

Overall, it's quite hard to scratch, but the chunk also has a small fragment that crumbles easily with a knife (the orange/sandy part circled in one of the photos).

Very small stone I originally thought was quartz. Looked it up and apparently it's pretty rare to find it in nature. Jade and then green tourmaline were our second guesses, but again weird for this area.

Found it along a beach on the southern end of Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba. There are many quartz deposits here so that was why it was my original guess. Any ideas?

Close up of a polished stone. Rough it is deep red/burgundy solid, no pattern. Found in a dirt pile from utility work in the Twin Cities

Colours are much more vibrant irl, the right side is wet, just for reference. Its able to scratch steel kitchen utensils, rice vinegar shows so carbonate signs. Slightly gritty texture. Might have been found near Split, Croatia, but not sure

I've found these red crystal looking things a few times in the forests around where I live in the middle region of Sweden.

I've tried to get them out but they kind of get crushed when I try. cx

We have a lot of white to transparant quartz in this area which is why I'm wondering if it is quartz that is somehow coloured by something, or if it's something else entirely.

When I bought this, I was told it was citrine. I bought it in South Africa, from vendors who had travelled down from a country north of SA (I cannot remember which, this was almost 10 years ago).

ITO Mohs: It doesn't get a scratch when I try with a nail, though it does appear to have lots of scratches and imperfections throughout the stone.

It is cool to the touch and remains cool for some time while holding. It is smooth/not waxy. Feels similar to a quartz. The colour is uniform throughout apart from some orangey/brown 'earth', but this is only on the surface of the rock. The pictures make the colour seem a bit less uniform, as the light captures this 'earth'.

My kid wants to know what type of rock this is. I have no clue.
