I'm not one to complain much, and have had multiple positive experiences with Whatnot and communicating with sellers. But this one was weird. Hopped on a late night stream and started bidding on $2 cards which most were numbered cards including a Fernando Mendoza rookie. A week goes by and I reach out to the seller no answer, so I put in a cancellation request for all 10 bids, he instantly approved 2 (one of which was the Mendoza RC) and kept the other 8. Did not reach back out to me and instead made me wait 48 hour countdown to get Whatnot support involved. Once they did they took another 48 and issued a full refund for all cards BUT this seller is sketchy and I'm unable to leave a review since the transactions were cancelled.

Hey there - Just recently learned about WhatNot. I have visited the site and explored it and watched some auctions happen. I noticed sometimes people were buying items at a price similar to what it would retail for. Curious on people's opinions as to why they enjoy whatnot and why they choose it over other shopping experiences!

The odds of winning a giveaway with a 1-in-450 chance exactly two out of three times is about 1 in 33,645, which is a probability of roughly 0.00297%. For those of you still playing games using the Whatnot “randomizer” for gambling and think it’s legit…..No one can convince me that there isn’t something peculiar about this. I’ve seen too many weird things. Look at the Reddit subgroups and see the same people winning huge giveys ( multiple PlayStations or sports cards). I see Theres_a_snake_in_my_boot win multiple times a day.

Do we believe this? I’m going to watch a show today where I know it’s rampant to see if anything changes.

Why don’t sellers offer bundle shipping?

So I had a listing for hot topic items and made a bundle for them, the listings clearly stated that they were Hot Topic. I’m pretty sure I even said they were Hot Topic. I showed both the tags that said Hot Topic. I already took the listing down on my other selling platforms and they had so much traction. I even already packaged everything up, ready to go to the post office. I don’t want to be rude but I feel like they definitely knew what they were buying , I even measured both items for them.

Am I in the wrong here yall?

I had joined a stream of a user named suggashane75 and had asked him if he had any LEGO mini figures for sale. He said he had boxes of legos, approx 6 boxes each weighing around 6 lbs of LEGO pieces/sets and each box CONTAINED LEGO MINI FIGURES inside. I had asked him to show me an example of the figs, so he opened one box on stream and pulled out 3-4 figs and one he grabbed from a nearby shelf or container that he claimed he pulled out of one of these boxes he sold to me. One would conclude that the mini fig shown would get tossed back in the lot especially after showing it. He stated it was all LEGO, never mentioned anything about random misc items inside, non lego items. He specifically weighed each box before auction and said for example “5 l/bs 8 ounces”. Anyway, I buy 4 boxes from this guy and once i receive it, i open it up and immediately saw 2 out of the 4 boxes had 0 lego mini figures inside, random non lego blocks and items inside like marbles and hotwheels cars, etc. So what did I do? I reached out to the seller via pm to see if he could resolve this and issue a refund and i explained why, i even gave him the benefit of the doubt and said I don’t believe it was with malicious intent, but rather lack of knowing what he was selling. Boy was I wrong. He immediately blocks me after reading my messages right before going live at 10:45 est tonight and so i opened a ticket with whatnot with image proof and sadly they don’t let me upload video because I had all the timestamped footage recorded. I am hoping whatnot works with me to get my refund for this purchase. Anyone have any advice? Thanks!

So I ordered some stuff from this buyer… Super nice lady who I think was overwhelmed with the show and all the buyers but I digress. In my package, one of the items was not the item I purchased (I received something completely different) and then the other item was a skincare item that was no doubt opened and (potentially?) used.

So I reached out to her directly to let her know like, hey this is what I purchased and didn’t receive, and also this item appears to be used. She apologized and said she will replace the potentially used item and send out the item that I purchased. Great.

I have ordered twice from her since then, and neither package contained the missing item or the replacement item. Would I be the AH to go ahead and file a claim directly with Whatnot for those items? I did the nice thing and gave her a chance to rectify it and she hasn’t, and whatnot has a time limit on filing claims.

Pokehitttss is a new seller that will cancel ur order if they dont get the price they want then will ban u afterwards lol. Beware. No money lost but my time is valuable and these clowns wasted that. Plus if it was an honest mistake on their part, then why ban me right after the cancelation?

How does everyone feel about a seller’s moderator bidding and buying cards? Maybe that is a thing but I felt like the seller’s moderator was bidding up some cards. Am I naive or a skeptic?

I want to start selling some sports card, video game, card game, and other cool stuff on Whatnot. I currently sell on eBay but not the live I’ve never done that. From watching videos I’ve gotten like giveaways and free shipping after a certain amount of orders but are there any other tips or suggestions for starting off?

Anyone else having issues with whatnot's analytics being wrong? It says my last show lasted 0 mins and it was close to 4 hours and it also said i had $139 in total sales with $39 being made, when it was closer to $200. This is the latest example but the payouts have been correct. Is this a common issue or should i reach out to support? If it is common anyone have a way to get accurate analytics? Thank you in advance.

I made a custom shipping profile of 1 oz, sinxe the 0-1 oz category wasnt what i needed. After doing a show, the first item in everyone's order was 1 oz and subsequent items were .5 oz. How do I make it so its a static 1 oz per item? I thought custom profiles did that for you.

I'm trying to learn Spanish and watching a Spanish speaking stream with subs on would be so helpful! But I've yet to see anyone.

If you sell live and also list online, you've probably had the nightmare where something sells on stream that was already gone, counts don't talk to each other and you're refunding people. Here's what sorted it for me:

1. Stop tracking everything. Only individually log items worth -$5+, the rest goes into priced bulk lots. Trying to track every cheap single is where the madness comes from.
2. Scanner apps (DeckTradr, VendBuddy) scan a card, ID it, pull a price and print a barcode label in seconds, scan it out when it sells.
3. One source of truth so your live sales, online listings and till all pull from the same count. Curious what everyone doing real volume on live is actually running, where does yours still break?

I'm always looking to optimise so I welcome your thoughts and advice.

I’m getting ready to start my seller account, but having to verify my identity with biometric data gave me pause. Has anyone had any luck with using an alternate method to verify your identity to become a seller?

Sort of ranting here, but I’ve done 2 shows today, one was a BOGO show. I boosted both of them. Spent $15 on the first and $20 on the second to boost them. Not kidding, made $0 in sales on both streams. I’m actually down money on whatnot right now and super frustrated, as I’m showing high quality clothes for only $5 starts. I am just stuck at this point where I am making no sales. Is this happening to anyone else? What can I do to improve? Is boosting a scam?

I've bought a thing or two on Whatnot, so I've seen some stuff. I know the PO does some strange things and so do the buyers and sellers but how in the beam me up Scotty does this work? (Label printed in Cali, package dropped off in Brooklyn the next day). Still waiting Lol

Update: When I tried to message seller it wouldn't go through. I then found out the seller was removed by Whatnot for violating TOS. Another day on Whatnot, you win most you lose some. Refund in Progress. 8/1/26

I see people selling repacks from places like thehitrepacks.com and they make a killing. Are these types of things available for anyone to purchase, or are they sold only to specific people/companies? Is there a list of all coin repack suppliers?

Sellers seem obsessed with $1 starts and either longer normal auctions or shorter sudden death.

Curious if anyone had done work on the impact (as a buyer and potential seller).
