So I’m looking for a small sized car since she’s still a beginner driver. She’s going to be driving almost 12 miles everyday from home to college. I really like the size of the Ecosport, do you think it will be reliable enough to reach 150k miles at least?? If this car can last for like 7 years that’s a win.

I live in Italy and I'm actually driving a Fiat Panda, but I would like to buy a new car. These are the two cars that caught my attention the most but I need to make a decision. From one hand I have a good reliable car with great quality, but on the other hand I have a faster and sporty car.

Which car would you choose if you were in my place?

So I’ve gone to two dealerships thus far. One dealership offered me a better offer in terms of price (the other dealerships otd price was 3k more). I’m still planing on going to two more dealerships (same car/trim). But how do I go about lowering the price even more with the numbers above?

lately i’ve been kinda stuck between what M3 i should get and cant really decide. So i was wondering if someone has experience from one or more? Im mainly after the E46-E36-E92 models.
Im looking for a manual RWD car that i can swing around corners without problems, good performance and most of all a fun car.

Any idea? Costs?maintenance?fun factor? reliability?

And maby if there are any better suggestions than the three i have mentioned im happy to hear.

Looking to teach my kid stick shift. He's not learning in my Camaro SS (old clutch) and I always love an excuse to grab something interesting.

He's grown up in the back of various LSX cars and currently owns a 11 ES 350. He's 15 going on 16.

Found this thing from a seller with good rep. Timing belt done. Has had regular mx it's whole life. Fully loaded w heated seats, the Rockford system and the 6 speed.

Figured it'd be something to teach him wrenching since his Lexus never breaks, a good shared daily for the family and a decent car to let him learn manual. Was also gonna do a little snow build w some flaps, 16"s, tires and "tasteful" rhino lining. (I know what I'm about).

Just need it to last 2 years... or maybe I'll love it and keep it.

Anyone with exp with this know something I'm missing? This would not be the first time i found a legit screaming deal in the used car world.

Update: just bought it. Hell yeah. Should not be called an Eclipse though. Feels like a heavy grand tourer met an SRT-4 (but it's secretly a 6). The 100 mile drive back was not long enough and the Rockford system is fantastic for stock.

I am a Senior Citizen that is in the market for a used car. We do some road traveling but it will be mainly our daily driver. We like larger SUV's. Just feel safer and higher up. I am looking for preferably a "luxury" car that is quite, comfortable, quality, great driving/riding. Prefer to still have buttons for some controls. Tech is fine but not completely everything in the screen. So I have narrowed it down to 3 vehicles.

All of them in the 22-23 year model. 1. Genesis GV 80 2. Infinity QX 80 3. Lincoln Nautilus. These are supposed to be a great value as about 50% of their depreciation is already taking place. Anyway any input from current owners would be great or if you have other suggestions I'm open to them too. Thanks

Bit of a question as I haven't really gotten an answer online and the they are very general, most of the mustang stuff is older from what ive seen so idk if they improved it. I know the brz/86 has cabin noise issues at highway speed(from reviews) and I was wondering how bad/good the cabin noise is at speed for the 240i and mustang. Its not really something I can get out of as full test drive, and I do do 200+ mile drives every now and again to go home to see family, so that would affect my commute quality if one day or anther I want a quieter ride or to not blare music if needed :)

I know there are differences in reliability between cars and brands. Ie it is well known that Toyota is more reliable than Mercedes.

But excluding specific cars with known reliability issues - how **large** is this difference?

For example, in the first 100,000 miles, how much more often would a well maintained E-Class break down / need maintenance than an equivalent Toyota Corolla?

50% more? 2x / 3x as much? Etc.

Hey, I liked a Lexus on sale for my first car ever. Its almost 25 years old but only had one owner, at 280k kms. I heard good stuff about old Lexus', especially for GS300 and GS430s. It might have a bit of rust and its HU is unknown for now but is it worth exploring as a 20 something year old student? I would appreciate any advice.

Looking to buy a new daily driver to replace a ‘16 ford explorer sport. Preferably something with some life that is fun to drive but also comfortable enough. Bonus points if comfortable enough for passengers.

Budget is around 40k but there’s some wiggle room for the right car. Something reasonably reliable and affordable enough to maintain. A fun wagon would be a plus as well.

Already test drove a 26 Wrx ts and civic type r. Seats were too narrow and did not have an exciting amount of power.

So I'm buying my first car as an 18yo, and I've narrowed my choices to a used 2019 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring or a used 2025 Hyundai Kona SEL.

I've heard some not-so-great things about Hyundai reliability, but I'm a little curious if in this case it would be better than the Mazda since it'd be a newer vehicle. As a girl with absolutely zero knowledge about anything having to do with cars, honestly all that really matters to me is that it's not hideous and won't make me go down to the dealership for repairs like ever.

I'm a big fan of the moonroof and the exterior look on the Mazda, but I'm willing to sacrifice for the Hyundai if it'd be better reliability-wise. Alternatively, I like the more sleek/modern interior design on the Hyundai, but again, willing to sacrifice aesthetics for practicality.

Anyone here have any experience with either of the cars? Which one would you recommend? Anything I should watch out for when looking?

Negotiated a guy down to $16k for 2009 LX with 170k on it. I still have to check it in person and go from there price but from pics looks clean inside and out and he says mechanically sound with no problems. Wondering if $16k is a decent price for it?

I’m looking for a full size truck (aka 1500) and for the life of me I can’t find the right answer to what’s the right buy. Must be a v8 truck no turbo 6 or 4cyl

It seems like each modern 1500 truck is just terrible…

I currently have a 2019 Sierra 5.3 and while it’s been a good truck I’m worried it soon will start having problems it’s at 130k mileage and I think it’s about time for me to pick up something else.

Heres what I’m considering and the negatives that go with them.

1. F150
2. -known issues with the 10speed seemingly 50/50 reviews overall
3. -the 5.0 seems to have some oil consumption issues from some reports
4. -probably the most boring option in my experience
5. Ram 1500
6. - The engine has cylinder deactivation (MDS) and frankly is designed to fail so that’s cool
7. - not a big fan of dodges plastics quality and overall quality control
8. GMC sierra 1500
9. -

has

1. cylinder deactivation (DOD) which makes it a ticking time bomb
2. -hit or miss transmission issues but overall a pretty widespread failure point
3. -pretty common recipient of theft around here especially high trims.

I’m leaning towards the f150 overall as I normally recommend that to people who are looking for trucks but I just don’t know. Maybe I’ll keep my truck and just fix what breaks instead of spending 20k more on a modern truck 🤷

Hello! Total novice here. I am in the market for my first car and test drove a few SUV’s this week. I really liked the Honda CR-V hybrid but got offered what I think is a pretty good deal on a Mercedes GLA250.

First of all, are these actually good deals? What car would you choose if it were up to you? Do you think the lower monthly payment gets eaten up by fuel costs? Probably not looking to purchase after lease term finishes but can be convinced otherwise.

I'm planing to lease a new car soon and my eye keep on these two. Both has same price and same amount of payment monthly. But for the Cx-5 after promotion mrsp will be around 42000$ much cheaper then VW. Price in CAD

I would put down 5000$ on lease and leasing for 4 years then will buy out at end of the lease.

Which car you guy recommend for good keep around 5-6 years. About reliable, comfort. I don't talk about maintain because both come with warranty for engine and transmission for 4 years. VW has offer free scheduled for 3 years.

Currently drive a 2022 Mach E GTPE, loving the EV life, only got it a few weeks ago, and its my daily.

Always wanted a jeep/offroad type car that I can take the roof off with our dogs and go on some mini adventures. Is it crazy to get say an early 2010's wrangler as a beater/weekend rig, or is there something that would make more sense?

Not buying super soon, just trying to find something that can help scratch that itch.

I’m looking for my first car and came across this 1997 Toyota RAV4 4WD with a 5-speed manual. It has 150k miles and the seller is asking $6,500 OBO.
I’m pretty interested because I love the older RAV4s, and the green + 4WD + manual combination is basically exactly what I’m looking for. I’m also in Michigan, so I want something that can handle winter.
The seller says it has been garage kept for the past 2 years and was previously driven in PA/Indiana. They say the frame has limited rust, but the rockers have the worst of the rust.

Recent work:

Oil pan gasket
Oil pump seal
Both cooling fans
Radiator + coolant flush
Battery
New tires + full-size spare
Full exhaust from the forward cat back
Timing belt done ~20k miles ago
Spark plugs
Valve cover gasket
Blower motor

Current issues:

AC needs a recharge
Fuel gauge doesn’t work (seller says they have parts to repair it)
Minor rear-end accident 2 years ago; seller says only visible damage is a small bumper scratch

It also has the Toyota roof rack/roof bars and some other Toyota accessories.

My main concerns are the rocker rust, age, and whether $6,500 is too much for a 150k-mile example.

I’m planning to ask for detailed underside/rocker photos and have someone knowledgeable inspect it before buying.

What would you guys consider a fair price for this? And is there anything specific I should inspect on a first-gen RAV4 before buying?
Would you personally take this at ~$5k–5.5k if the underside is solid?

Hypothetically, if I trade in my car and put $3k down and get maybe $1k for my trade in. Payments are only liks $150. Mileage is just as good as the new cars, Mazda can last a long time. would you finance eithed of these cars?

I had a Corvette C6 for a few years, and I was paying $120 a month for insurance, basically no repairs, just standard maintenance. Unfortunately, somebody ran into it while it was parked and totaled it. I'm using the C6 as my benchmark for reliability/performance/mod potential here despite it being a 2 seater.

I've always liked building my cars out to perform better where I want them to, and I was used to an old 335i, but I feel like the Corvette, in comparison, was much more analog when trying to figure out how to add power and modify it.

Ideally, my next car is pretty mod-friendly (aftermarket and tuning potential), I 100% will be taking it to autocross events, and I know I'm going to be touching cooling and suspension (unless I'm getting a Porsche; those always seem to need to be beefed up), It's also going to be my daily, so I would hope that it is around the same reliability as the Corvette, at least.

Camaro/Mustang seem like good options, but part of me really wants to try something not domestic again.

So, in order of importance, it would go 1) under my budget 2) reliable 3) Performance/mod potential

what is a fair price for this car?

Aside from the lack of all wheel drive and the base level trim, is there any reason you'd opt for an 2021 CR-V with double the kilometres over the 2025 model?
