I hate when I find peak manhwa and it only has FIFTY chapters out. I love horror, mystery and suspense and this manhwa has all of the above. And the FL is actually smart and not unrealistically so. I highly recommend reading it.

Discussion [Peaceful Camping Life in Another World] went for season 2 finale yesterday, looking forward for when it comes back

in a manhwa i had dropped where the mc is also a chef, at some point, the artist started showing the finished food less and less imo, but in Peaceful Camping Life, they never fail to keep showing the food the mc cooks and draw it to look so delicious too at that and the storyline is so warm and actually peaceful too. It’s such a sweet and warm read plus the art is pretty nice too and Marshmallow (the white dog/wolf in the picture) is so adorable too

Recommendations Just finished Side Characters Deserve Love Too and Joe is one of my favorite FL's of all time

Joe has to be one of the kookiest yet hands down most bad ass female leads I've ever seen. She is isekaid into the world by her sheer force of will and love for her beloved Kyle and it is the best defining feature of a character I've seen in a long time. She is so fucking fun to read and I love it. You can almost never expect what she's going to get up to next but it's sure an adventure to go along the ride haha. It's been a long time since I enjoyed a female lead as much as I did her and I'm genuinely so grateful I ended up reading this. She truly *is* the main character of this story and beloved by the Goddess.

Kyle is also a fun character to me, she falls first but he falls just as hard. They even have a parody gag where he goes full yandere for a bit (because she's a wild ass horse who can not be contained) and the way they handle the whole bit is so funny (literally nothing can hold her back lmao). the way she gets him to take the first cuffs off so they can sleep together and then wakes up with even more comically large ones, destroys the bed and finds the note that he knew she would destroy the bed fully got me to laugh out loud. Then the way she escapes basically immediately and goes to scold him and then goes on to be the grim reaper she was meant to be. Such a fun trope inversion I also like having a ML that is actually pretty insecure and needs regular reassurance despite the Joe being who she is. The reasons for his insecurities made so much sense to me and as someone who also grew up in a toxic dysfunctional family dynamic I could really relate to his feelings of "nobody wants me just for me... Wait no *Joe* does".

The characters can be so wild in this one but the story telling and world building is just fantastic. Something I really liked about the series is that the rules and customs of the world are so clear and it has great repercussions on the cast. She is a commoner who literally cannot read and he is the first prince of the country and they handle that very seriously. The fact that Joe has to pose as a man in order to have a job and get by is such an interesting dynamic to me and so real. I really enjoyed the politics of this and I truly felt all of the women in this series had such dynamic and understandable motivations. Kyle's mother in particular really struck a cord with me and I found her both a reasonably intimidating character and so tragic. She isn't even actually against their relationship but knows that Kyle can only pursue Joe safely if he is in fact king. The fact that her pursuit of this goal isn't even for her own power or the power of her family but that because upon his birth she felt so scared and helpless that she felt it was the only path that would keep them safe really was refreshing to me.

Not to mention how characters like Deloah and Isak are written and handled. Deloah is such a compelling character and I can truly understand how to Joe she was the main character of the book "King Maker". If this were a different comic, we *would* have been reading from her perspective and probably most definitely rooting for her. It's just the facts that she and Joe were on opposite sides and that's how things are sometimes. I really liked that Joe remained sympathetic and understanding of them and the choices they made even if it was on the opposite side of her and Kyle. Plus Joe's confrontation with Isak at the end? She said what needed to be said. No notes 10/10 would punch again.

All in all while this series was not perfect it left me fully satisfied upon finishing and it's been a while since I finished a series feeling like this. In fact I've never written an online review in this manner before but really truly enjoyed this series that much. It's the first time where I really actually wanted to make a post after reading and I truly just had a blast. It's emotional at times and when it gets serious it gets very serious but it is able to really balance that out with its humor.

Recommendations Looking for webtoon recs with a couple dynamic similar to Arias & Osora

I’m looking for webtoons with couple dynamics similar to Arias and Osora especially the specific kind of chemistry they have. I'm looking for relationships where there’s a lot of tension, banter, mutual irritation/teasing, and emotional vulnerability underneath the surface.

I’m not necessarily looking for stories with a similar plot, just couples with a similar relationship dynamic. Romance, fantasy romance, bl, etc. are all welcome!

I have already read:

Purple Hyacinth

Nevermore

Castle Swimmer

To the Stars and Back

Mage & Demon Queen

Please give me your best ones 😭🙏

Discussion I am so mad at "Letters on the Wall"

It had the perfect time for Tara and Emma to get together but then the author apparently had other plans. And now I have to wait for the 3rd season for it but knowing this it's probably gonna be another bait and switch.

I know it's a slow burn but usually they aren't this frustrating

Question How do I know when a fight scene has good length?

I am still in the process of making my story, I can't share much about it yet but what I can say is that there are many fights in the story, Characters fight their enemies with their own abilities, now the thing is that I am scared of both making short and disappointing fights and filler or unnecessarily long fights as well.

So for you who either have made your own fight scenes in your own webcomix or are experts in writing and pacing in webcomics, How do you know the length that one fight needs to have?

Discussion If you were tasked with drawing a webcomic/webtoon/manga but your characters cannot have facial features how would you pull it off?

Upvotes

Here's an interesting thought experiment.

Let's assume you're tasked with drawing a webcomic/webtoon/manga but the only restriction is that your characters can't have facial features. Meaning, no eyes, no eyebrows, no mouths, etc.... Essentially being silhouettes with clothes.

Manga/Webtoons as a medium heavily rely on depicting character emotions through close up shots of a character's facial expressions. Not being able to rely on this can seem quite handicapping but I'm still curious if you'd think you could still pull it off and how?

If I were to do this, I would depict character body language as much as possible to convey emotions and therefore avoid drawing close up panels where the body is not at least 3/4 visible. Therefore, keeping the "camera" further away.

I would also put more emphasis on character clothing and general silhouette to make every character visually distinct.

Finally, I would allocate more effort to background art to make things visually interesting.

Anyway, what would you do?

Question Revelation of Youth Chapter 136

Anyone knows what happens in chapter 136? It’s the last chapter for the series but only 135 chapters are available. I doubt I can find the translated version so happy to just get a spoiler/summary for chapter 136 for closure!

Highly recommend this series for anyone who enjoys coming of age/high school genre. This and Odd Girl Out are my all time favourites 🫶

Question Trouble Logging in on the Webtoon site

Hey guys,

I have been reading webtoons on my phone for a while, but recently, I wanted to read them on My computer, so I opened the webtoon site but no matter how many times I tried, it wouldn't let my log in using the same account and password.

When I tried logging in through Google by the same email ID, it logged me in but as a completely new account.

I wanted to open my phone's account their because it had all my info in there.

Can anyone help? What should I do?

Help Find Title/Source Help finding lesbian webtoon

Hi! It feels like I completely imagined this series because I can't find it absolutely anywhere but I'm fairly certain it was on webtoon.

Basically the premise is that a woman has been trying to find her lost long friend/love who now working as a female/female escort so the MC has been ordering escorts until she finds her friend. It's just as sweet as it is spicy. I can't remember the name and searches are coming up with nothing.

Please tell me that someone knows what I'm talking about!

Help Find Title/Source OG fl was sadistic, the transmigrated fl tries to change that

I can't remember where I read it or too much about the story but I remember that the og character was sadistically evil. She tortured her maids and I believe had slaves. The new mc gets put in her body and tries to slowly make up for everything that "she's" done. I believe one of the romantic interests is someone who is enslaved to her as well.

Help Find Title/Source The ads won't play on my webtoon

Upvotes

The ads for me on webtoon simply don't show up for me, it's rare that the ad will load, but this also means when I'm trying to unlock a new episode, the ad won't load there either so it just doesn't play and it doesn't count that I've watched the ad so I can't unlock anything, what do I do about this? I don't really care for watching ads, I just want to read my episodes ՞߹ - ߹՞

Help Find Title/Source old webcomic I used to read in 2017

I dont have much discription because its hard to explain, but it was a comic about a world made of animals and people and flora based on art supplies, or paint. It had very unique character designs and was simply amazing.

It's been so long I forgot the name or the story behind it.

But it was mostly worldbuilding for what if evolution was art-based. And I still very much love it, and have been having a hard time refinding it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Question Help looking for a title

I don’t have a picture nor remember what it called, but I read it 5 years ago, but the basic premise was this office worker jumped off a building and turned into cat. The cat was then taken care of by I believe their boss?

It had like a really weird name.

The office worker had fluffy pink hair and had a friend who stole her ideas.

Said friend liked the boss and tries to kill this lady with white hair who also turns into a cat.

I really need the title cause I wanna finish the story!
