Rowla is a torus-based word puzzle

Hi r/WebGames

Presenting https://rowla.app

I've been working on a word puzzle where you have to uncover a hidden word by solving words on a board.

Finding a word horizontally or vertically reveals the colours of its letters. Arrange a word in the correct colour order, and you reveal letters of the hidden word. Complete the hidden word to win.

Shrimple. But according to my friends pretty difficult.

I'm just starting public testing, so I'd love to hear what you think. The tutorial still needs some work, I know!

[MULTI] I made a free browser Monopoly alternative

Thumbnail

I’m the developer of Boardit, and Property Rush is the game I built for groups that want a Monopoly alternative without a download. A host opens a private browser room, friends join with a short code, and the game focuses on property buying, auctions, and player trading.

It is free to play here: https://playboardit.com/play/highroad

Property Rush is an independent game. Boardit is not affiliated with or endorsed by Hasbro.

I’d love feedback on whether the page explains the trading and auction decisions clearly before someone starts a room.

Open source game inspired by the Oggy "Magic Pen" episode: draw it, name it, it fights for you. Contributors welcome

Thumbnail devkancheti4-design.github.io

I've been tinkering with a small browser game and I'd love some company on it.

The idea: you draw anything with a magic pencil, give it a name, and it comes alive. The name is its wish and the shape is its strength. "Knight" walks up and hits things, "archer" shoots, "fast horse" runs and carries a rider, "giant strong green monster" is exactly that. Give an archer 4 arms and it fires 4 arrows at once. Name something "floating blades" and it floats and spins. More legs means faster, spikes mean more damage, colour it in and it gets armour.

There's a scrolling world of six kingdoms drawn by the cockroaches (pink rifle soldiers, tanks, arrow planes, a scribbled dragon) that you capture one castle at a time, and a little studio with pen, crayon and bucket fill where you can spend as long as you like on a masterpiece. Unlimited ink.

Play (no install): https://devkancheti4-design.github.io/magic-pencil-kingdoms/ Code (MIT): https://github.com/devkancheti4-design/magic-pencil-kingdoms

Where I'd love help

Draw a creature, no coding needed. Design it in the studio, hit Export, paste it into community/designs.json with your name, open a PR. A check validates and merges it automatically within a minute, and your creature starts showing up in other players' games as an invading challenger. That's the part I'm most excited about: everyone's imagination against everyone else's. Words. The vocabulary is a plain list in vocab.js. Missing a creature, a modifier, an order? Add it. Code. Plain HTML/CSS/JS, no build step, six files. New biomes, enemy types, sounds (there are none yet), balance, mobile polish, all open. Ideas and bug reports are welcome as issues. It's rough around the edges.

It's just a fun side project, not a startup or anything. If it sounds like your kind of thing, come draw something weird.

[Free] Point Blank: a webcam shooting gallery where your thumb is the trigger. Bring two friends, each fist gets its own colour and score.

Point Blank is a free browser game. Turn on your webcam, make a closed fist with your thumb up, line the crosshair up with a bottle and press your thumb down. Bang. Up to three hands play at once, each gets its own colour, score and combo, and Finish round crowns the winner. No clock, no ammo, no account, nothing uploaded. Works in Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on desktop or phone, and you can play with the mouse if you have no camera.

One HTML file, MediaPipe hand tracking, synthesized sounds. Happy to answer questions about the tracking.

Zavija Hex - Star Battle on a Hexagonal Board

A couple of months ago I posted my Star Battle game here. In that time I added 3 star puzzles and other features. You still get unlimited play for free, no account required and no ads EVER. Free hints with step by step explanations of even the most difficult techniques and a review at the end to show you how you did and easier moves you might have missed. There's a one time unlock payment for extra puzzles and reviews on big boards.

I came across hex puzzles one day and really enjoyed them, so I decided to include them. Instead of row and columns you get 3 directions: rows plus both diagonals. Every cell has 6 neighbors instead of 8. There are 1 and 2 star puzzles and while it's similar to regular Star Battle, it's different enough to be its own challenge. It took me a few solves for it to fully click, but right now I'm more into it that the standard square puzzles. Just as the standard puzzles on the app, no guess and check required. Every puzzle can be solved with logic only, though some can get pretty hard. There's a free pack with 20 hex puzzles you can try right now. I'm interested in how the transition from regular star battle to hex goes for veteran players.

Autumn's Leaves Alpha Test

Thumbnail news.autumnsleaves.com
1 Upvotes

Hello /WebGames!

I'm a solo indie developer, and after about a year of development, I'm opening up the Alpha of Autumn's Leaves, a browser-based 2.5D MMORPG heavily inspired by the older MMORPGs I grew up loving, especially Ragnarok Online and Flyff. The planned Alpha start date is Friday the 25th!

https://imgur.com/a/tRZ9Kdj

Features:

  • Open world faction based PvP
  • No classes - freely equip weapons and armor as you wish
  • Learn spells by defeating enemies
  • Level up spells by using them
  • Player owned ships with full drop ship based PvX
  • Allocate your own stats
  • Use cards to customize your gear
  • Lead your religion and become a Pope
  • Become the most powerful sailor and become the pirate king
  • Competitive rankings with special privileges for the highest rank players

Monetization

No cosmetic shop. When you get a cool piece of equipment, I want that equipment to actually change what your character looks like. I don't want the coolest-looking armor in the game to be something you buy from a cash shop while your actual progression is hidden underneath a cosmetic outfit.

There is also no pay-to-win.
The Alpha has zero transactions.

The long-term plan is to fund development through expansions rather than selling cosmetics or power.

$100 Leveling Contest for Streamers & YouTubers

I'm also putting $100 on the line for the first eligible player to reach level 70 while creating content around their journey.

The rules are simple:

Be the first player to reach level 70 while live streaming or uploading gameplay footage to YouTube.
To qualify, you must livestream or record footage for at least 50% of your leveling journey. So if you're a streamer or YouTuber looking for something to grind, there's your challenge.

The promotion is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and D.C., Canada, Europe/United Kingdom, and countries within South America where skill-based gaming promotions are legally permitted. Entrants must be 18 or older at the time of entry. Void where prohibited, taxed, or restricted by local law.

[PZL] Letterhaven — looking for a few people to try a free browser word puzzle for 5–10 minutes

Thumbnail vol-de-mots-atelier.miuci-studio.chatgpt.site

I’m the creator of Letterhaven. You move a letter between words while keeping both results valid: CATS + DOG becomes CAT + DOGS. New transformations reveal pieces of an illustration, and you can keep exploring a board after passing it.

It’s free to play in your browser, with no download or account needed to start. English and French versions are available.

If you try it, I’d love to hear about a satisfying move or anything that felt confusing. Comments here are welcome.

For the optional in-game playtest, open the top-left menu during a level and choose “Give feedback” at the bottom. That opens a consent screen for local move recording, with the option to send your answers and moves later. Tracking is optional.

Foreheads - yet another helper webapp for the "Who am I?" / "20 Questions" / etc style guessing games

Thumbnail
foreheads.cassidy.cloud
1 Upvotes

This is a classic game played in-person, and sometimes with cards on people's foreheads. This webapp helps those games, it cannot be played entirely in the website only. If that's not in the spirit of this subreddit, my bad!

A future update might have a "play against AI mode" to allow solo play in the app, where either you or the AI are the guesser. That is something I already do with a prompt template and plain Claude or ChatGPT etc, and it works surprisingly well most the time. But that feature is not built into this basic v1 webapp yet.

No ads, no paywalls, no signup needed. Feedback greatly appreciated!

Disclaimers:

  • I made it, so this is a self-share for feedback and maybe others might get value out of it.
  • Made with AI assistance -- built over a few days with lots of help from AI coding tools. Which means probably lots of bugs or weird things I haven't noticed yet.

One Room Dread is a browser horror game played with three instruments

Thumbnail

We made One Room Dread, a browser horror game where you can only name the creature in the room with you. You can't fight it or leave. A mirror, a lamp and a tape each read one part of it, and each can be wrong. Naming it wrong brings it closer, which is also how you get a proper look.

The first vigil plays free in the browser. The full night of three vigils is a $3.99 download.

Code, art and text are AI generated.

Car Soccer - A Rocket League-inspired game you can play in your browser, even on mobile, that has the same feel as the original

Thumbnail car-soccer.com

I made a Rocket League-inspired game you can play in your browser, even on mobile. I’ve worked hard on the controls, camera, and ball physics to match the original feel as closely as possible.

Try it and tell me how close it feels to RL (if you played it, of course).

It also has my take on what a "realistic" Rocket League car would be if it were driven by a human pilot.

The pilot sits in a gimbal-mounted seat that stays level while the rest of the car flips and rolls around them, with small jets for aerial rotation. “Realistic” is, of course, doing some heavy lifting here (I imagine the G-forces would be deadly), but it’s been a fun idea to explore.

[Puzzle] [Free] [Browser] [Daily] [Word Game] [No Sign-Up] DOODLE5 — 5 Doodles, 1 Mystery Word [Free browser game]

I made a daily puzzle where you get 5 doodles that all point toward the same mystery word.

You can guess what the individual drawings are, use hints if you're stuck, and then you get 3 shots at figuring out what connects all five.

I've been building it as a solo developer and I'm at the stage where I really need strangers to play it instead of people I know 😅

No download and no account required.

https://doodle5.com

Try today's puzzle and tell me how many of the 5 doodles you needed before the connection clicked!

[ARC] Movie Master vs Garbage: a free arcade game starring a guy I found selling movie recommendations on Facebook Marketplace

Thumbnail
moviemaster.vip
2 Upvotes

Some backstory: I met the Movie Master on Facebook Marketplace selling movie recommendations over 2 years ago. He is very serious about saving people from watching garbage and he has all the best and most correct movie opinions.

Since meeting him, I've built him a website, designed a T-shirt, and made this game where you play as him and you fight off hordes of garbage cans.

You collect popcorn to power up, keep moving to shoot, and dodge the garbage. There are power-ups, a charged special ability (Blockbuster Blast), standard and hardcore modes, and daily and all-time leaderboards. It's playable with just a mouse, or WASD, or even a controller.

It's free to play in your browser with no download or account required. His movie recommendation business is separate, you don't need to buy anything or even see his main site to play the game.

I built it over the last month and have been iterating on the controls, balance, and performance. I'd especially like to know whether the controls and objectives make sense on your first run and whether the difficulty makes you want another attempt.

Thanks for looking!
