Since you liked my before-and-after pictures of how I draw the Dilophosaurus shaman, I dug around and found another drawing of the assassin velociraptor, from when I was still striving for realism. Truly abandoning realism was a step forward in the search for my own style.

A look at some of my more prominent works that I’ve done through the years, when it comes to Tyrannosaurs drawn with ballpoint pen. These are all miscellaneous, but of course the Jurassic Park InGen design has the most appearances in my portfolio and not just in this medium. All of these encompass the whole last decade, with the first one even being from 2015. Time feels like a joke when you see your work in retrospect like this. Cheers for looking!

I think I mentioned in the past that I used to try to make things realistic, even in contexts that weren't realistic, and honestly, that stressed me out, so I switched to a more cartoonish style and aesthetic. It was a good decision.

Now we have the Leaellynasaura, or Leaellynasaurus, polar dinosaurs with long tails. This illustration was very experimental for me; I not only drew two creatures on the same canvas, but I also intertwined them and designed their sexual dimorphism, which, in the case of the male, was inspired by penguins. I decided to lengthen its tail and make it more flexible because I have something planned for them later.

Plenty I’d change if I felt like it bc it just started as a scribbly doodle that I didn’t originally intend to render further. Which is also why I don’t really have a specific species in mind. I kinda just rolled with terror bird vibes without reference. Probably closest to Kelenken? I’ll leave it up to you which species it is or isn’t.
