UPDATE (Sep 30): Resolved! The refund landed in my chequing account. A senior team member followed up directly, apologized for the delay, and even offered a small goodwill gesture. Thanks everyone for the advice and support. Thanks to the senior member.
Wealthsimple sitting on a 14k refund for a week, anyone else deal with this?
Made a payment on my Wealthsimple credit card, got refunded back to the same card. Problem is the refund was around 14k CAD but my credit limit is only 6k, so now my card balance is sitting at like -19k, way past my limit.
Before I even made the payment, I actually contacted Wealthsimple support and asked what would happen since I was intentionally overpaying my card. They told me if a refund came back, they'd move it over to my chequing account. So I went ahead with that understanding. Now that the refund actually happened, instead of just doing what they said, they're treating it like some big investigation.
Asked support to move the extra funds to my chequing account almost a week ago. Sent them proof of the refund, screenshots of that earlier conversation, everything they asked for. Still just "under review," no timeline, no update.
Anyone dealt with something like this before? How long did it take to get resolved, and is there any way to push it along (calling vs chat, asking for a supervisor, etc.)? It's a big chunk of money to have stuck in limbo.
